Pousada da Mangueira

After 28 hours of non stop traveling with no sleep and a taxi ride from hell from the airport to the pousada, we could not wish to end up in a better place! The staff was great and took good care of us until the room was ready. Its located very near historic quarters just a few minutes walk. The room was fine and the bed was amazing :). Pool was nice, breakfast good .. we loved the place ❤️

Lovely place to stay. We were sad to leave. Staff friendly, smiley and helpful. Air Con in the room was a luxury. The pool is great and cleaned daily. This is a very well maintained property and very close to where all the action is. Caudio, in particular, is a prince among men taking great care of us and arranging tickets and transport to see the Carnival. You can find cheaper rooms, but friends who were staying in a cheaper place nearby were jealous of our quiet air conditioning and the fact that we had hot water for our shower. Lovely to see birds and lizards flitting around the garden. You get what you pay for.

Loved my stay here. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Gabriel thank you for all your recommendations and also greetings to the guy who worked the night who told me about what was and wasn't safe. Recommended and definitely coming back. When you are here, do go uphill for drinking and dancing samba with the locals, I loved it there!

I stayed here twice. Both times I was upgraded to the same suite. The staff was very friendly and helpful; their levels of English varied but I was always able to make it work. The room was spotlessly clean and was very comfortable. It was also huge. The view from the room is unbeatable. The pool is small but very clean and functional.||||The area around the hotel is a bit rough but that is to be expected in Salvador. It is also well-located to visit the Pelourinho. The staff were helpful with safety recommendations. I did not experience any security issues.

Small hotel very close to the historic center, very good price, 35 euros per night with breakfast. Reasonably large room, and has a certain charm, the comfortable mattress and since there were few guests quite quiet, although the hotel staff starts working and therefore makes noise very early in the morning. Weak breakfast for my European taste, and the reception staff very good, friendly and with good English, always helping with proposals for restaurants and visits. Recommendable.

I really enjoyed staying here. It's a great location, just 100 yards or so to the Pelorinho, with great views from the swimming pool. It's very spacious, with a very relaxed atmosphere, and friendly helpful staff. The breakfasts are excellent, and there is a nice bar where you can purchase food and drinks throughout the day. You can organise an airport transfer easily enough. From the swimming pool you can see across the Pelorinho, but are just far enough away that the constant drumming isn't too noisy. I would certainly recommend this hotel and would return happily if I ever went back to Salvador.

This charming hotel was a great find in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil! Our room was small but charming. Sufficient storage space, in-room safe, air conditioner with remote control. Very clean bathroom with large shower, bath supplies and towels. The poolside breakfast was very substantial and the outdoor bar was open throughout the day for cocktails, cold beer as well as a food. The location was close to the Pelourinho tourist district and the hotel staff provided us with directions to ensure that we were safe. They also arranged for taxi service to and from the airport as well as recommended a driver to take us to the Praia do Forte - which shouldn't be missed. Finally, the staff were very helpful when a few important personal items were left behind. They worked diligently in order to have them returned to us.
