Nino and the rest of the staff couldn't have been more gracious and helpful! The breakfast was like dying and going to culinary heaven (see photos)! We had a wonderful harbor view. From the moment I walked in (at 6:30AM after an overnight bus from Lencois), I felt at home. The folkloric art throughout is just wonderful. I'd come back just for the breakfast!! Mango and all kinds of tropical fruit, eggs to order, homemade savory and sweet pastries, breads, cheeses, thin-sliced salami, juices, coffee... I could go on and on. See my photos!

Had a spectacular visit. The staff are friendly and attentive. The breakfast buffet was great with many daily choices and they will happily make a specially requested omlet, etc. Nicely located and walkable to many stores and restaurants. The rooms are simple but comfortable and the view from the dining room is spectacular! Highly recommended.

This place is an absolute gem. Two old casarões turned into a pousada, the Pousada Boqueirão is filled with Bahian folkloric art and friendly and helpful staff. It’s conveniently located within walking distance of the main touristic center, and has a beautiful view of the water from the back balcony, plus enormous and comfortable rooms with hammocks (at least in our 3-person rooms). ||The hotel also hooked us up with a reasonably-priced and knowledgeable taxi driver/tour guide who helped our group see parts of Salvador which are not convenient by foot or bus. ||But most importantly: the breakfast at the Boqueirão is to die for. Come here if only for the cafe da manhã! They have a massive table overflowing with fresh and homemade breads, pastries, fruit salads and juices. Order eggs any way, and top it off with a mini passion fruit tarte.

So like others,we were at first put off by the outside appearance of the buildings, and like others completely in love with the place once we checked in. Extremely charming -- someone with Bahia in their bones decorated here and you keep seeing new details every time you come back. Food and drink is outstanding, both the included breakfast and any meal you decide to have in the evening -- views from the veranda/patio are outstanding. Room was clean and well set-up -- we took the one up high with the fabulous deck. Understand that you are at the edge of the Pelourinho here and will walk about 750 meters or 10 minutes to reach the main square of Terreiro de Jesus. Made us a little anxious the first couple of times at night, and you will have the occasional street vendor or beggar approach, but we relaxed (while staying vigilant) once we saw that the security people/police stay quite visible around the entire Pelo until late at night, and that it's wonderful to make the Pelo your HQ. Low cost Uber rides made everything around Salvador easily accessible. We found staff at the pousada helpful, friendly and obviously well experienced.

We enjoyed a lot room No4, spacious, interesting details, great view to the Harbour and island of Itaparica. All the decorations are very special and give memories back to the last visit here, some 20 years ago. The whole building with all the special decorations looks like a piece of art. The breakfast is marvelous with all the fruits and special cookies (all in addition to regular breakfast you get everywhere).

I work in the hotel business and am used to hotels of all standards. When I travel I prefer to stay in smaller more intimate places that are family owned and reflect the locality. I spent three weeks in Brazil and stayed in some good places but nothing compares to how special Pousada do Boqueirao is - full of personality, soul and perfection. So much of interest to absorb and beautifully put together. Comfortable, quiet, friendly, welcoming, homely and confident in an artful understated way. Breakfasts were amazing and looked after by very graceful staff. I left after two night stay charmed and inspired. Thank you all. Claire

Original and very nice Pousada in the center of Salvador.|From outside of the building you would never guess the beautiful Pousada which is awaiting you inside. Spacious rooms, art and sculptures everywhere and a wonderful balcony where breakfast is served. |The Pousada is very unique and original. The staff is very helpful and breakfast is excellent (all home made). We loved staying at la Pousada do Boqueiiro.|

We went here for breakfast based on a tip we got from a local. The breakfast is absolutely amazing. It was the best we had yet in Brazil. Absolutely stunning setting. There are some toys for little kids to play with which was a fantastic distraction for our youngest one. Everything was yummy! The price for breakfast is R$ 39 which is worth it.
