Lovely pousada, quiet location in the town, excellent breakfast varied each day, really helpful staff on reception, good WiFi connection, lovely garden setting. Room fairly small but comfortable, nice view over garden with hammock and chairs. Short walk to ferry (5 mins). Recommended.

Good: hammocks on the balcony, decent breakfast, central location. Bad: very noisy AC, uncomfortable bed, dark rooms which makes them look less clean. The staff was friendly and helpful though. At this island you don’t spend a lot of time in the room but for me it was important to have a restful sleep which I didn’t manage.

It is similar to Bed n Breakfast. Very good location, beautiful garden where you can have breakfast or just relax. Breakfasts are amazing, with a lot of choices and fruits, and it all tastes amazing. The staff is very friendly, they give you a lot of tips what to do on the island and help you with booking the trips. They are also accommodating when it comes to check in or check out, and they can help you with a transfer from and to Rio. There is a common room with pingpong , board games and books/dvds. The room was clean and had everything you need. The only thing I will say, I recommend paying slightly more for a better room. We had a first level room which was not great as there was a constant noise from laundry room and kitchen, we had a balcony that would be open to the inner side of the pousada, so if you wanted to chill on the balcony you’d have other people walking up and down the stairs. Also the air circulation in this room is not great, but the fan was enough and we didn’t have to use an AC. If you want to come to the island be prepared that everything is more expensive than in Rio, including restaurants, souvenir shops, etc.

The pillows and bed are very uncomfortable, on top of that the room was very dark, grim and dirty. I honestly don’t know how this hotel can have an average of 4 stars … I can understand that on the island there are no very high class restaurants but, this doesn’t even allow air conditioning without an extra payment, the service is not good. For what it is, it can be considered even expensive.

I was there for 3 nights vacationing with my mother. Accommodation is great, cozy, clean and quiet, fills all basic requirements. The extra touch comes from ambiance and staff. The Inn has really good space and the back area is just so pretty. After breakfast - which is amazing by the way - you have a nice place to relax and enjoy the surroundings before starting your plans for the day. Staff is really helpful and the manager have good tips for excursions and also can get you better offers in some of them. If you're not looking for camping I highly recommend this place. Also is near everything in the island (but it's a very small island, it would be difficult not to).

There are so many places to stay on this beautiful little island. My brother randomly booked this hotel for my wife and I not knowing how good or bad it would be, and thankfully it is a very nice accommodation. It is set back from town where all the action is, but set back on this island is a ten minute walk from the beachfront. ||||The owner and his wife are really friendly and speak great English, but most of their staff only speak very limited English, so when we arrived we had to wait a little while they tracked down the owner. We didn't mind a bit though as it really should be on us to learn some of the local language than expect everyone to be fluent in English. One of the owners, Vivian, is well travelled and so she totally understands the needs of traveling guests. She knows all the best places to go, and where to eat on the island. She's also very friendly one evening I think we just got into a conversation and chatted about life the universe and everything for about about an hour, mostly sharing travel stories. They also have snorkeling equipment for guests to use. ||||The rooms are small, but are clean and have everything you need. The place has a lot of character, you can tell that it is a family run guest house. They certainly picked an interesting color scheme to paint the walls, but somehow it works. There is a little balcony that overlooks the garden complete with a hammock to chill in with book. It is very different from any commercially run hotel. You wouldn't want stay in a Marriott or a Hilton on this island anyway, it's just not that kind of destination. ||||A very nice and simple breakfast buffet is served each morning, with lots of fresh fruit, which one should definitely take advantage of because as there are no cars on the island you will be walking everywhere, and you'll need something to give you energy. ||||All in all a very nice place to stay at a very reasonable price.

My fiancée and I stayed for a week here and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It's quaint and I really liked the style of decor. The breakfast is nice, various fresh fruits, different cakes and fancies, scrambled eggs and sausages. Fresh juices and coffee and teas, tasty and filling. ||Generally it is clean, towels changed every other day and sheets every third day. The cleaners made us very nice animals made from towels most mornings. There is a safe deposit box at reception also, a caixa de segurança, say 'coffre' and that should do it.||The staff are very helpful whether they speak English or not. We were greeted by Vivienne who speaks very good English even if she is modest about it! If there is anything you need to know about the island then pillal the man himself is so knowledgeable! Gave us lots of info about which beaches to go to, how much things cost and what to do and how long it would take us to go from A to B. It seems like if he doesn't know it, it's not worth knowing!||There are various little board games around, a ping pong table and also they have DVDs you can watch. Mostly they aren't English speaking but there are a handful of you look! Pillal gave us a 5% off voucher for Gabi biel, onto the T junction of the Main Street for pousada d'plillal and go left, about 200m. A nice little place to eat and pretty cheap, variable 20 reais for good burger and chips, and 45-60 for steak or seafood respectively. ||A tip, there is a pizzeria right on the T junction of the street for pousada d'plillal, does huge pizzas for less than 50 reais and two caipirinha for 15 reais, spent a good few evenings there! Ask for Diego or Helio (pron ellio).||Overall really nice place to stay and would recommend!

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here for four days and could easily have stayed longer. The staff were very kind and helpful and the owner was always on hand to dispense advice on hiking and the best beaches to visit. The pousada was very clean and comfortable with lovely cosy rooms with hammock in each for chilling. The delicious breakfast is served in a beautiful little garden which perfectly sets you up for exploring the charms of this fantastic island
