Pousada Jacarandá

Simply paradise! Just 6 bungalows set in a beautiful garden with a large pool and sunbathing area. Even with the other bungalows occupied, it felt exclusive and it was so peaceful sitting by the pool and watching the birds and lizards play in the variety of trees. Our bungalow was for two people with one bedroom but was comfortable and clean. Surrounded by nature, the mosquito nets around the bed were a good idea although we didn’t have any visitors in our room for our 5 day stay. Our bathroom was clean and the shower was powerful and everything was available.||You have just a 5 minute walk to the village centre |and just 10 minutes more to the beach.||A special mention for the staff and breakfast. They were so friendly and professional, the receptionists were totally helpful and always available. The kitchen staff prepared the food themselves and changed the selection each morning. They even made me a special cake for my birthday!||Considering that this pousada is not the most expensive available the value and experience is fabulous.||We will definitely visit again and recommend it to everyone.

The owner Annalisa is a very friendly lady making your stay very relax!! The place is particular and well maintained! The rooms are clean and characteristic! There is no wifi in the room but only in reception and pool so you are obliged to relax reading a book or dedicate time to your partner!! Breakfast is simple but you can have all you need fresh and home made! We stayed 5 days for my 50th birthday and I also had a small cake with candle that day! we really enjoyed the accommodation and the town |Laura Gavin

Set in a lush and peaceful tropical garden, Jacaranda is the perfect place to kick back. ||The bungalows are quite unique (the buildings are round like a lighthouse) and they are well-equipped with mosquito nets, good quality air-con, fridge and the all important hammock on the balcony!||The pousada has an excellent location, just a short walk from the Quadrado and the beach, and there are plenty of things to keep you entertained if you don't fancy heading out (books, games, pool).||The breakfast is great too but best of all are the owners. Speaking perfect English (which was invaluable), they are warm, friendly, super helpful and totally laid back about everything. We'd definitely come again!

Family bungalow was perfect for our needs. The outside balcony was really pleasant in the evening. Manageress was friendly, informative, and could not have done more to be helpful. The location, within a tropical garden, was delightful. 5 minutes walking distance to the quadrado, main square, and 15 minutes walk to the beaches. Breakfast was varied and plentiful, and the on-site chef, Mario, was superb. Apart from Cupim Santo restaurant, which was excellent, I would recommend you order dishes from Mario; better food and better value than most places in the quadrado.||||Overall, we had a great stay. We couldn't fault it. If you want to rest, relax, be one with nature and yet be close enough to the bustle of the quadrado and the beach, then this is definiteluy the place for you.

The Dream Team:||Analice and Marco, the owners, take care of everyone and everything. They gave us really good advices for finding good and calm beaches and places for having diner. They speak further languages. Mario, the Italian chief, with the help of his wife, concocts tasty meals if you want to stay at the pousada for the lunch and/or the diner. The breakfast is fantastic and garnished with typical dishes, fruits, cakes…||The Best Spot:||Close to, but not too much, beaches (essential due to the mangrove swamp close to the beaches and thus mosquitos at night). Close to, but not too much, the touristic square which can be noisy at night too. Close to the city center for going outside the box and the beaten path. The bungalows are in a wonderful and very well maintained park. I was also surprised to find a pool larger than what I was expecting to see, when I was watching the pictures on the website. In addition, Trancoso is a lovely place for resting and enjoying.||Finally, we came 6 days with our 3 months baby and the calm and the pousada were perfectly adapted to him.

This Pousada is amazing, it´s truly a little bit of heaven on earth. Analice, the owner, is so kind and fun with all her guests, she makes you feel like being home. The location is excellent, close to the Quadrado, bars and restaurants and not far from the beach. The bungalows and the garden and pool are beautiful and you couldn't be more relaxed. Truly recommend it!

We stayed 4 days in this beautiful pousada. the team is very nice and kind. It's close to everything and quiet at the same time. We had a blast in this lovely place. Analice and Marco are excellent hosts and really take an interest in their guests. Pre arrival, Analice was swift to respond to emails and both were ready to answer questions and find out stuff for us while we were there. Marino, who runs in the in house restaurant, does an excellent job and makes his own pasta. I would say we ate better there than in town. Breakfast and afternoon tea were lovely, the pool area relaxing.||Our only slight quibble was that the downstairs beds in our unit did not have a mosquito net and we both got bitten a few times in the night even with repellent and the fan on. We took it in turns to sleep upstairs.||They organised some excellent horse riding for us, far better than the lads with their nags who hang around on the beach.
