We stayed as a family and had two rooms. The view is spectacular and the pousada is a lovely place to hang out during the day lying in the hammocks and watching the monkeys. The breakfasts were plentiful and very good. The staff were also very helpful in organising our onward journey. We had a standard room 4 which was very nice, but we were a bit disappointed by the more expensive room 8. It does have a private terrace which we appreciated but the bathroom was very small and also quite noisy because it is close to the kitchen. The window has no glass and although secure you can hear the noise early in the morning. Overall though it has probably the best view in town and there is a lot to be said for that!

FABULOUS!!! Great location with a quick walk to town, a beautiful park (forte defenso) across the street, amazing view from the rooms, private feeling, very kind staff, delicious breakfast - definitely recommend staying here!

Wonderful Pousada. Lovely location - views spectacular. Breakfast excellent and lovely afternoon cake and coffee. All the staff were lovely too - helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our top floor rooms (1 and 2) with balconies and hammocks. And the location is good - offers more peace and quiet than the centre but only a quick walk in to the old town. And very close to the local beach - just down the hill.

Worth climbing the hill to stay here. We stayed upstairs in kind of a loft area (room 7). Room was really spacious and clean. Breakfast was lovely, overlooking the town and everyone here was so helpful. They gave me a WhatsApp number to communicate, booking transfers and even giving me contacts of taxi drivers since uber doesn’t really work there (you’ll end up just getting the dreaded “we are finding you drivers nearby”). Lots to do nearby even with the rain. Close to town, across from the fort, taxis are good for Fazenda Bananal and the waterfalls.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights and absolutely loved it. The owner and staff are so friendly and informative. We booked a standard room with an ocean view and a hammock. The rooms are equipped with AC, they’re very clean and comfortable. The pousada has a pool and a lovely tranquil garden overlooking the city and ocean. They put out fresh fruit every morning during the breakfast and you can see birds and monkeys come up to eat as you’re enjoying breakfast and throughout the day. This was a peaceful and tranquil haven above the city but is close to all the main attractions, including the main beach, forte and old town. We would absolutely recommend this beautiful and charming pousada.

We stayed in room 8 which seemed like the highest room in the complex. This afforded us a beautiful view of the water over the immense plantings. The room had an air conditioner which worked well and a hammock which allowed us to listen to the birds and watch the wildlife. The pousada has a small but nice pool at the entrance. There are pool/beach towels for loan. The location is good and within walking distance (although uphill on the way back) of the old town and beach. Breakfast is delicious with lots of fresh fruits and juices. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only downside was our room was near the kitchen/office and there was a lot of noise during the early morning. Recommend this location!

We had an absolutely delightful experience at Pousada Morro do Forte in Paraty. The serene ambiance and breathtaking views made our stay incredibly relaxing. Waking up to breakfast with monkeys and hummingbirds each morning was a magical highlight, adding a touch of nature's beauty to our day. The staff at the hotel were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, making us feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout our stay. The overall atmosphere was peaceful, allowing us to unwind and enjoy every moment of our time there. I highly recommend Pousada Morro do Forte to anyone looking for a tranquil getaway with stunning views and warm hospitality. It's truly a hidden gem in Paraty.

I think the main reason I liked my stay here is the room. We had the only "detatched" room, which is literally by the pool, but with a more private entrance and with a very own little patio, overlooking the beautiful nature around Paraty.|I'm sure the other rooms are as nice, but this somehow felt it was the best. Great value, around £90 per night (non peak season). "Great value" only if you are £, Eur, or $ though, becuse it seems to be on the very expensive side for brazil (and maybe brazilians too).|Regardless, this place and that room are worth every-single-penny. Breakfast is great and you'll get to have it in the main patio overlooking the bay, the pool is ok and it definitely works a treat when you come back from a day out or to relax in the morning when temperature are still not too hot. The staff is very kind and helpful.|This place is a true paradise and IMHO don't think it can be topped up, at least in Paraty!|10-15 minutes walking (uphill on the way to the hotel) to town center. If you come by coach, then is like 30 mins walking from the coach station. If you have actual suitcases though, get a taxi (no uber in Paraty) becaus it can be quite of the trek with all the stoney roads.
