Pousada Ogum Marinho

Amazing location in Vila and very good breakfast. Bedrooms are quite small and noisy but the shower is excellent and everyone was super friendly. One of the only pousada that accepts pets and there are lots of friendly cats around the premises. Pool area, food and snacks is very pleasant. Definitely returning! Thank you!

Adorable little Pousada located within walking distance of the beach. We enjoyed the comfort and cleanliness of the room, and more importantly it was a tremendous value for the price. Loved the great big bathroom and roomy shower. Breakfast was included each day and had a nice assortment of fresh fruits and meats/cheese....enough to carry you through until mid afternoon.||||Make sure you do not get a room near the restaurant (as we did at first). Outside Diners linger long hours into the night and will disturb you especially if you choose to keep your French doors open. The doors face a small individual patio, which is private with a hammock to nestle in. Only romantic if there is no noise!||||The front desk and reservation staff did NOT speak English, so brush up on your Portuguese (or have a translator). This is a very popular place for American and European tourists. In my opinion, it is the cleanest and nicest for this price range. There is also a safe for valuables. Not extravagant, but truly a simple, worry-free, and comfortable place to be in the lovely Eco-Village of Praia do Forte.

If you are looking for good customer service, stay away. Staying 2 nights. The front desk guy was not welcoming at all. Didn't explain anything. No information about breakfast, wifi or directions to the room... nothing. Got to the room and the bed linen has this massive hole. Then he gives me the bed sheet for me to change the bed.. excuse me?! I dont work here. Im the guest! Old bed linen old crispy towels. So dissapointing. As its not the cheapest place to stay.

Ogum Marinho is one of a handful of Pousadas on the main street of Praia do Forte. It has an excellent location at the end of the street near the water and is tranquil despite being so close to the center of action. That said, you could probably do better for the same price in this lovely town. The rooms are dark and lacking in character and the only really good rooms have balconies facing in and looking over the pool. Other rooms have balconies facing alley ways and are dark. While we were there the internet did not work well and you can really only access it in the lobby. The staff people are not so friendly or helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this charming town and the Ogum Marinho was a fine choice.

The pousada couldn't be better located. It´s on the main road (and the only relevant one in Praia do Forte). All the bars, restaurants, shops, beach and Tamara Project (sea turtle preservation project) are literally 1 min way walking. || ||The pousada it self is very Brazilian style, very beautiful, with a nice pool area and a decent breakfast. The room are average, but clean and more then enough. We did have a problem with the safe deposit box. It was not working on arrival, and management didn't get fix for the duration of our stay (2 nights). || ||The wi-fi was free and available trough out the hotel, but in our room the signal was sometimes weak (room 8). || ||I recommend walking to the Papa Gente beach (20 min walk north on the beach), it´s got a nice food and drink service and it gets like a pool on low tide. || ||The hotel offers free parking, it´s just a few steps from reception, but you will have to go around the village with the car in order to park it...no problem at all!

Nice, quiet pousada with nice garden and swimming pool (which we didn't use, the beaches are very nice). Right in the centre of Praia do Forte. Unfortunately the wifi does not work in the rooms, you have to to the reception area. Breakfast is excellent.

We have stayed at several pousadas/hotels in Praia do Forte and our recent stay at Ogum Marinho was the best. The location CANNOT be beat....on the main walkway, 50 mts from the ocean....perfect. The staff is very friendly and efficient, the breakfast and kitchen...nota 10. While the rooms are good/OK (they are being remodeled), they are very clean and well maintained.||A small but nice pool area and small but nice kiddy play area combine to make Ogum Marinho a good place for all ages.||We will definitely return on our next visit to Praia do Forte.
