I arrived here based on advice from other travelers. I received an excellent, organized welcome from the woman at recepcion. She was really honest, professional and upfront. The space is nice, clean and well-maintained. My first couple of days were pleasant.||Unfortunately, a day later, there arrived a group of 30 of the male owners' friends. Rather than rent the place to just them, there were 6 or so normal guests, and then this large group. ||The male owner was catering to their every need, very responsive to that group, ignoring his full price guests. The rest of us paying guests spoke together about how uncomfortable we were. This big group took over the kitchen, the pool, all the shared space and we didn't feel welcome in it. Suddenly, the quiet, calm hostel I had enjoyed now felt a lot more like a frat house.||The end to all this, was an extremely unprofessional interaction with this male owner. He blew up at me because I turned off the tv he had left on for 15 minutes with no one watching it. He was extremely rude, and when I responded he blew up at me, saying he liked having the noise. Saying to the other owner that I was only paying 40 reales per night, and shouldn't I have left already.||I was dumbfounded by this fundamentally disrespectful and unnecessarily rude treatment. I was never rude, despite being uncomfortable for much of my stay, and unlike his other guests, I was a paying customer.||I truly wish I could recommend this place, since Jennifer was so helpful and professional, but sadly, that treatment was completely unacceptable in my opinion.

We stayed there for three nights and really enjoyed our stay - the dorms are spacious enough with en-suite which are clean. The only negative thing is that the bunk beds are really loud... the kitchen and the area are nice and the breakfast just awesome - one of the best which we had throughout Brazil. Jennifer is incredibly helpful and the prices are more than fair or better than anywhere else. Actually, you don't have to shop around, just go with them and organise.

This place is awesome! I have stayed in several different hostels in entire South America, but this one was definitely one of the top 3. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, the beds are cosy, there even is a pool, and the breakfast is exceptional. So if you are looking for a cheap place to meet nice people and have at the same time awesome facilities come here.

This is a very complete hostel especially if you consider the price of 35rs (10euro) per bed per night. Only if you are the type of person getting irritated over the lack of teaspoons in the communal kitchen then you might not fit here. Staff is very nice and informative, all the tours in the wide area can be booked from here and the included breakfast is quite generous (only thing I found out is that the earlier you take the breakfast, the more choice you have). Wifi is reliable (sometimes you have to reconnect), and its easy to meet other travelers. The location is ideal near the busterminal and a giant supermarket, and only 3 blocked away from mainstreet although I hardly spent time there. |||

If you visit bonito you HAVE to stay here, we have been all over South America and this hostel has been by far the best! Not only is the free breakfast amazing (fresh fruit, fresh juice, toasties, cakes etc), Lucas and Jaqueline genuinely care about every guest that enters their door! It feels like home and we don't want to leave! They even came out with us to show us true Brazilian cuisine! Very good with all of the tours aswell (best prices in bonito, all very honest)! Thank you from Isabel and Oscar 😀

The owners are welcomeling every guests, answering all your questions and helping with arranging everything you need in Bonito. They are one of the best hostel owners I know! Always in for a talk, which make the atmosphere amazing. Furthermore the hostel has a very nice common space, partly inside and partly outside, with a convenient kitchen, lots of hammocks, a pool and beautiful paintings, which definitely improves your stay here. |So if you want to feel at home while travelling, you should definitely stay at Papaya Hostel

I stayed for two nights in December 2017 in a mixed dorm - Jackie and Lucas who run Papaya went above and beyond to help us - arranging tours and helping us arrange buses for the next part of the trip. ||||Jackie gave us valuable honest advice over whats worth seeing and where we could save money, as well as fantastic food recommendations. She even got up at 5.45am to give us breakfast before a tour!||||Hostel papaya was clean, well decorated and has a great atmosphere - the breakfast was one of the best I had while travelling around Brazil with fresh fruit and freshly baked goods - great coffee too!||||I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone travelling through Bonito! great location and memorable staff.

We really can recommend lucas and jaquelin's place. We had a warm welcome, good talks and they can help you with tours as well.|The rooms are clean and the dorms have lockers and there own bathroom. The breakfast was definitely one of the best we had since we left home and even if you have to leave early, jaqueline will make sure you get some ;)|We hope to see them again soon.|
