Pousada Samambaia

A beautiful sanctuary with an amazing pool, common area, room , and the most helpful staff who helped us arrange transport back to Porto Seguro. Also the breakfast is bountiful 😍 couldn’t recommend enough!!!

Very nice location close to the city centre yet it feels like in the jungle. The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is great. With a bit more attention to detail (like fixing up the bathrooms, having plates and cutlery available in the rooms' kitchen, etc.) this could easily get another star

This was our last stop in Brazil and proved to be an amazing place to stay. The location is perfect for the quadrado and local restaurants. We stayed in a chalet which was more than adequate with shower, fridge, kitchen area and excellent wi-fi. The grounds are beautiful and we'll maintained. The best part however was the people. The receptionist was the best I've ever met and all the other staff couldn't do enough to help. The breakfast was excellent.

Really special place to stay, with only four beautiful detached bungalows providing a really peaceful, calm and personal base to enjoy all Trancoso has to offer. We were a couple, but small families or groups would be very happy here too. Gaston and Luciano were excellent and friendly hosts, speaking English, Spanish or Portuguese. Breakfast was fantastic and perfect for starting the day. The bungalows had their own ensuite, kitchen, veranda with two hammocks. Our hosts made us feel very welcome and they were very lovely people. We cannot recommend this place enough.

Lovely pousada in a quiet green neighborhood, not far from the quadrado restaurant/shop area. Rooms are clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast and an afternoon coffee always waiting for us after a day on the beach. Thank you guys for a wonderful stay, felt like home and planning to come back soon :-))

We had some doubts, but overall we were very pleased we stayed here. The bungalows are fabulous and very spacious, hammocks on private porch outside. We looked at several other pousadas while in Trancoso and felt that the others we had considered (all a bit more expensive) were not nearly so good. The owners here frequently went well out of their way to help us and we greatly appreciated their hospitality. Many pousadas in Trancoso are, of course, top of the range five-star establishments: this is not one of those super-luxury deals but it is amazingly pleasant and great value at the price. Strongly recommended.

The Pousada has everything you can wish for. I stayed in one of the bungalows which had it's own private veranda with a hammock and a "flying chair" (?). Breakfast, WIFI and location were great. Within a short walk you're at the Quadrado (beautiful!) and as an alone travelling woman Luciano, one of the owners, even offered to pick me up in the center to bring me back to Samambaia. Luciano was outstanding! Helpful and friendly and even booked me my next accommodation. Thanks Luciano, muito muito obrigada mesmo! I love it here :). Would recommend it to family and friends and everybody else.

What else could we say more than: it was just perfect!!||Great and lovely little pousada located very centrally in Trancoso. Our apartment was very nice and clean and we enjoyed some tranquilo hours in our hammocks. Breakfast was also very good. Especially the very friendly and familiar atmosphere makes Samambaia to a special place, which we liked a lot!
