Rooms and location excellent!! It's an old Tuberculosis sanatorium and a historic hotel.
Super views and large bedroom. Also has an electric charger.
I give 3 star just because of the food
1) Hotel Restaurant - we had dinner and it was distraous. Our worst meal in Portugal. The couvert was bad!! Cold stale bread, just a couple of tea spoons of olive oil and way less butter!! In the mains we had the chickpea/sweet potato curry rice and fish pasta. Both were bland, no taste, I just tasted raw tumeric in chickpea rice, no other flavors. It seemed like it was sanatorium/hospital food. Way too expensive for what they offer..Staff was polite but majority of them don't speak English, which is totally fine, but overall we felt ignored. At the end I thought if asked I will give feedback but they never asked if I liked the meal.
2) Breakfast (included with the room) : Limited options, pastel de nata was not fresh!!!!
Scrambled eggs were cold and had no salt. Beans was cold too!!! After I finished the breakfast, I saw the people next to me order omelette, if I would have know they can prepare an omelette I would definitely have asked for it. Luckily, there were fruits and cake, to make my breakfast decent.
Very disappointing, if food would have been good, our stay would have been perfect.
