Pousada Solar dos Romanos

The location is excellent, within walking distance of all the museums and the square. The staff were helpful as well. Breakfast was adequate but basic.||The main issues with our stay related to the hygiene of our room. When we arrived, the shower/bathroom had not been cleaned properly - there were hairs all over the floor and walls. The bathroom was very small, and the toilet rarely flushed properly. ||The beds were very uncomfortable and the noise from the street was very loud.||Overall, the location was superb but we wouldn't stay again

The hotel is clean, the breakfast is good but it's not a beautiful hotel. It's a good option if you want a simple place to stay in the center of Pelourinho. They are friendly as they let you use a kitchen, a TV and shower with no extra fees. |The hotel had no soap and shampoo, I think they should let some in the rooms.|Becareful, the hotel has high stairs and you should ask for a first-floor room if you tire quickly.

I reserved a room with a view of the sea or the city, and did not get that. Also, I needed internet to work, and the internet was awful. The next morning, I explained to the man at reception and he said I was given a room because the stairs were too hard to climb (We are young and fit, not sure what the problem with the stairs was). So I left two nights early, and the Pousada refused to give me a refund. And the man at reception was condescending to boot. I do not recommend this Pousada at all. There are way better--CLEANER--ones nearby with views.

Amazing hospitality. Fantastic location! Right in the heart of Salvador, great energy!! Made you feel safe and welcome instantly. The place has a common kitchen and a common space with a TV to relax in. My only downfall is the bathroom, could use a bit of work.

I actually stayed here for 2 weeks back in 2011, not 2015, but the site won't let me post the actual dates. ||Anyway!||I loved staying here! If you're on vacation and want to experience Brazilian culture at its best then this is where you want to stay. It's located in Pelourinho and is right where the Tuesday night parties happen. I was a student when I traveled here on a budget and the prices were very doable which was exactly what I was looking for. They have rooms with bunks and also have private rooms, plus they serve breakfast in the morning. It is a hostel so keep that in mind when planning your trip. They are constantly booked because of their location so if you're lucky enough to get a room then you'll have plenty of opportunity to make the most of your trip. This is a very basic place to stay but it is cheap and in a good location in Pelourinho. The staff were friendly and you were able to arrange a transfer from the airport which made life much easier. The breakfast is basic but it has what you need, with fruit, bread, cake and coffee. I have stayed in this hostel twice now and i would recomend it if you are looking for somewhere cheap to stay and you want to stay in Pelourinho.

We spent 3 nights in August 2014. We had a nice room with view on the bay as requested.||The staff is very nice, helpful and friendly. ||I highly recommend this place and I would go back there for sure. We used their recommendations to visit Salvador and the pick up to the airport which is less expensive than going by meters with a random taxi.||Breakfast is good, terrace is very nice and wifi connexion works very well!||Thank you !||
