Pousada Sossego da Pampulha

This is our fourth time staying here adn you wonder if it will be as nice as the last times. Thankfully we were not disappointed. The staff was most cordial and welcoming, the breakfast is fabulous-great variety & always fresh. One of the things we enjoy is sitting on the rooftop veranda and overlooking the city. What's nice is other guest come and we get to meet & get to know them. We've met ones from all over Brazil & the world.

I've lost track of how often we have stayed here but every time we have received the same very personalized service. Most of the staff has been there for many year. this speaks columns of the quality of the management in a time when it can be so challenging to retain reliable co-workers. From the time we arrived, we were greeted by name throughout our stay there. As always a great breakfast and much information for touring BH. One incident this time stand out. We had been out for a long day and did not want to go out for dinner, nor order room service (we have in the past an it is very good). Sixths time we wanted a pizza. The young man at the font desk was most helpful in calling the pizzeria and helping us place our order. Our Portuguese is ok but we wanted it play it safe. this may not sound like a big thing but it is the little things that make any place special, like this pousada. We'll be back in April

We have stayed here 2 times & both have been refreshing. Staff speaks English, great diversity in fresh breakfast, quiet location, clean room & facility, good wifi, great location, good view of city from roof-top pool area (as well as the football stadium), grocery store close as well as the lake for a safe area for walking/jogging. Overall the peaceful atmosphere of the pousada made for a relaxing stay in the midst of the business and noise of BH. Returning to BH in Feb and plan to stay here again

This was our 2nd stay at this Pousada - and those characteristics which made us return: great location, limited but free parking, excellent price, restful sleep - were still present. The difference for us this time - the previous was before COVID - was just a sensation that the items in the room (bed especially) could be cleaner. We were already concerned about that before, but with the pandemic, this has become an even stickier issue.||||Chalet 34 was very nice in that it has a large varanda and, since pandemic breakfast was served in the room, we were able to take advantage of this space for our morning meal, which actually was quite good and served with exactly the items we requested.

I stayed for two nights. The location is ok, close to the Mineirão stadium. If you walk down to the Mineirão you will find a small cantine/restaurant on the left side which serves delicious food (price per weight). The hotel isn't the newest or most charming you will find but it's clean, the staff is friendly and helpful and the rooftop terrasse is nice and quiet - breakfast outstanding! For longer distances I used Uber which is really working perfectly. Also I suggest a visit in a beautiful restaurant called "Filé & cia" in the Flamingo road.

As you can tell form our other reviews we stay here about twice a year. We travel considerably and one of the challenges we see many places facing is staying up-to-date and consistent. We have never found any issue here. We have come to know the staff on a first name basis and always greeted & cared for warmly. Also, since we stay ere frequently, we also commend them for not taking us for granted but always trying to serve us in a fuller and greater capacity. See you again in April!!

We stayed here 5 nights. It's walking distance (3 blocks) from the football stadium. The staff speaks English adequately. The rooms were surprisingly big and clean. It is very quiet. The breakfast was better than some 4 star hotels we've stayed at on this trip.

This is the third time we have stayed here-that speaks for itself. This time I was sick-the ole stomach bug. The staff at the pousada went out of their way to provide for me and my various needs. We had several specific requests and they were all responded to promptly and happily . It was great that the staff spoke English so well. We will continue to stay here when we are in BH.
