Pousada Viana do Castelo

Such a pleasant place to stay at. Rooms are authentic decorated and have a unique view of the Rio Lima vanishing into the Atlantic Ocean. However Coffee and tea are missed in the room! Bathtub is a little bit small , no rain shower , it was just a pleasant and positive stay. Breakfast was just a nice morning experience , you just step in the restaurant and everything ( the buffet so colourful and well made ,the table setting is so good , so much natural light comes from those big windows ,that soft green colour all over the place that radiates positivity,wonderful views of the village and the Rio Lima warm friendly staff serving you politely ) was just inviting you to sit and have a nice start of your day 😍

What an amazing place to spend a couple days. The rooms were amazing, comfortable and views were awesome. The breakfast included was the best I’ve ever had, such a variety of choices. Staff all went above and beyond to assure guests had everything they needed. I felt like a VIP!

We booked a sea view room with balcony and as promised we were not dissapointed. We had a beautiful spacy room with a big King Size bed. On the balcony we could overview the entire city of Viana do Castelo with the basilica as a centre piece. The view is ESPECTACULAR !!!|The bed was comfortable and the bathroom well-equiped.|As a big surprise we got a free bottle of champagne for my wife birthday, thanks !!!|We strongly recomment this pousada!!

Excellent price quality ratio. A Grand Hotel style hotel with impeccable service, no extra charges for parking or breakfast, and the old staircase, amenities, and room decoration ads to its charm. One should book a rooms with a breathtaking view to the beautiful Santa Luzia church.

What an amazing property, kind people and an incredible stay. Bed was very hard, and the AC weak, but I would stay there again and again and love every minute. The views are incredible! It so so beautiful. An amazing place to see Viana for all its glory!

Perfect. Stunning iconic view and the hotel is very comfortable. But the best thing is the staff. Ricardo in the restaurant looked after us so well and made sure everything was right and the Senhor on the front desk was impeccable. Fantastic hotel to celebrate a special occasion. Would recommend visiting the beach across the estuary in the afternoon and watching the kite surfing .

We stayed here as part of a Titan tour group. Outstanding views from some rooms and the terrace areas. Excellent swimming pool situated a couple of minutes walk away in the grounds. Pool towels issued free from reception. Good breakfast and dinners. Allergies well catered for. Our room was good and spacious, we had a disabled room as we needed a walk in shower, however no room in the hotel had this so we had to settle for the shower over a bath. There were however alarms in the bathroom etc. The a/c in the rooms worked well but caught many people out as some windows were ajar and the a/c did not work unless fully closed - there really should be a sign in the room for this to save bothering reception unnecessarily. Very nice lounge area.|The bar was well served when the usual young bar man was there, however when he was not and it was covered by someone from reception it was poor with mistakes in the order and short measures. The only other annoyance was that the wifi only worked on the ground floor and not in rooms.|Having said that, overall we were happy and recommend the Pousada.

Amazing Experience! I came with a friend and the view was breathtaking! The food was delicious and the staff were so friendly! Our server Ricardo was perfect and made our experience so enjoyable! Definitely we will come back again on our next trip!
