I stayed here from 12 to 16 May 2023. I love it. The owner is a wonderful person. So are his staff. The small hotel is lovely. The buffet breakfast is fantastic... plenty of fresh fruits, cakes and pastries. The fresh guava juice was out of this world. ||It lies right along a main road between 2 important squares and is easy to walk to the main square. The cable car station to Lower Old Salvador is only a few houses from this small hotel.

Really recommend if you’re visiting Salvador. Located in the historical center perfect to visit the city, the owner is super nice and breakfast was the best we had in Brazil. Breakfast includes eggs, avocado, cheese and ham, as well as some more local food (fried bananas, cakes and pasteis) and maaaaany fruits. Breakfast With a view to the beach. We paid 14 euros per night per person everything included

This is a pleasant pousada, if a little rough around the edges, which is very close to the historic Pelorinho district of Salvador. There are 2 terraces (which were a must have for our accomodation) overlooking the bay and offering good sunset views. There is a nice breakfast served on one of these terraces - simple but sufficient. The rooms seem good, though we had the best (room 4) and second best (room 9) - some of the other rooms looked much smaller and do not have sea or street views. Wifi only works near the reception, though this was not a major issue for us. The staff are helpful though we were encouraged to go on tours - we weren't overly pleased with the one we took to Praia do Forte, so arranged other day trips ourselves. Overall the stay was a pleasant one and at a very reasonable price.

We were in room 4 (clearly the best, overlooking the harbor), two of the nights with our adult daughter. The layout of the room makes it a good choice for 3 people. We found the room, and little balcony, and the terrace downstairs to be very pleasant places to hang out. Now that we've been there, we know we would only want to be in a room like that, facing the harbor. Owner's English was very good. We highly recommend the location too - Santo Antonio neighborhood is enough away from Pelourinho hubbub. Very near a good "quilo" restaurant.

Pousada Villa Carmo is very well located in the centre of the Pelorinho. It is safe and supervised 24/7. We stayed here in August 2011 and paid R$150 for a double room and breakfast which is pretty good for Salvador. Staff is very friendly and helpful! The breakfast area is on a balcony overlooking the baía de Todos os Santos, its beautiful to sit there drinking your juice and overlooking the bay. the room was not the cleanest, there was a layer of dust covering everything. rooms are very small, we didnt have a window and the bathroom was tiny. it was hard to even turn around in the bathroom and after i had a shower the entire bathroom was under water.

We liked this place. The breakfast was very nice, typical brazilian (I think) and the staff was very friendly. They kept my luggage for three weeks when I was travelling around without charge. The room we got was a bit boring without windows, but clean. The view from the breakfast terrace was so nice. the locaion is good in the old part of the town.

We stayed four nights. The Pousada is very well located just off the center of "Pelourinho" that is Salvador's historic town. Gianluca, Ana Luz, and the night man, Giovanni (both men being Italian but speaking a variety of languages incl. Spanish, French, English) will do anything to ease your stay. The rooms are neat, breakfast is great!!. Beware of Pelourinho, don't go around with any valuable item (including your camera) visible. You can even park your car by the entrance door.

I found this pousada on venere when I was having trouble getting a room last minute. The owner was quick to respond to my questions and when our flight was delayed out of Recife the night concierge handled our airport transfer changes and our driver was there to meet us at 5am.||||We stayed in room 1 overlooking the cobblestone street, with a view up to a spectacular church. Super high ceilings and lots of space, we regretted that our stay in Salvador was brief. Breakfast on the back terrace with sweeping views of Salvador and the sea was unforgettable.||||But Salvador is quite intense, we felt it was more dangerous than either Sao Paolo or Rio. It's too bad, it is a special place.
