Powder Room

Nice spot. Expensive, but delicious food and a fun atmosphere. An upscale lounge with cocktails, wine, beer and any common bar alcohol. They had an array of caviar options. We indulged in the Waygu hotdogs with caviar on them, they were incredible, a table favorite for sure. The espresso martini was also a table fav. I enjoyed a simple vodka & pineapple juice. There is a strict dress code, we saw someone turned away for relaxed attire. They do have a free coat check upon entry, then you go up an elevator to the main dining area. As long as you arrive before 10 PM it wont be too busy at the top of the elevator ride. after 10 ish it starts to really fill up before eventually becoming more of a dance than lounge vibe. The staff were all very friendly to us, it is an upscale vibe though so I can see how some people in other reviews were rubbed the wrong way. But we had an excellent experience. I would come back with my fiance or friends for sure! We wanted to try dessert but they have a 2 hour table max and we had to cash out before trying the banana split, that was unfortunate, but I guess next time!!

This was quite disappointing especially considering its location in Yorkville and the exclusivity it markets. The FOH staff were all dressed very well but a lot of them were not very warm nor friendly except some of the bartenders and support staff. I don’t remember our server’s name, but she was nice. The other servers were quite snobbish unfortunately. So service was just meh. It overall just feels like another king st cliquey club rather than an elevated Yorkville bar. For a cocktail bar the cocktails were horrendous. The birthday suit was served in a bathtub - firstly presentation wise it is quite tacky. Secondly it is very flimsy and impractical and when the server brought it to the table it spilled. We were not really offered any compensation so that was quite off-putting. Thirdly there were only 3 ice cubes in the drink so this drink was very imbalanced. The taste profile was not very definitive, i almost had to wait to be able to taste the flavours they marketed. My friend’s drink, the yorkvillain margarita, was served with a straw. First of all a cocktail served on the rocks with a king cube should not be served with a straw that is incredibly tacky and second of all for a cocktail costing about $30 the best garnish they could do was a dead shiso leaf. Overall very very disappointing and it is giving King St W bougie-wannabe but actually a massive scam. This is definitely not a cocktail bar 😂 i would never come back for drinks here. From presentation, to taste, to variety, you are better off spending that $30 getting 2 drinks at another bar on dundas west or better yet 4 highballs at a local dive bar. The value for money was horrible. The saving grace of this place was the ambience. There was live music and the decor is nice. However there were 4 ladies stalls in the bathroom but 2 were out of order so it was a 5-10 min wait to use the bathroom. Another positive thing is their oysters as they were served with ebi fish roe as a topping and a raspberry champagne mignonette so that was a really good and unique combination. The wagyu pups were decent. Nothing outstanding but after so much disappointment that was a highlight. I’m not really sure why this place feels the need to market themselves as a very exclusive and inaccessible place, but they have stanchions set up outside and you have to ‘wait in line’ like a club even before club hours (regular dining hours). Secondly the coatcheck is mandatory which I don’t really understand why….guests should have the choice to not coatcheck especially if they feel cold. Thirdly there is only one elevator so the entrance feels very packed, crowded and high-traffic. The same people coming in checking in their coats and accessing the elevator are in the same 1 feet radius as people leaving coming out of the elevator to then get their coats. Overall the entrance experience is logistically very inefficient and awkward. It is not welcoming at all. I understand the need to establish a standard for exclusivity and prestige but everything just felt ‘clumsy’. Overall, nothing special and just another king st w like restaurant-lounge-bar-club. It’s definitely not a cocktail bar. I would not come back but I did enjoy the live performance.

What a beautiful spot. Dressed up with my girls for cocktails, nibbles, and gossip and Powder Room did not disappoint! A lil caviar bump, martini, live music, looking fine…fabulous ambiance and gorgeous decor hidden away and close to the subway. Will be my new, go-to.

Tips on making this venue work for a special night out or something fun to do. First tip, make a reservation. It’s a small place and it’ll make getting in so much more fluid. Plus, free coat check and if you want to stay late and dance they welcome it. Second tip, make the attempt to dress well. That’s all they are looking for. Third, the staff are super pleasant but you’ll get the same vibe that you give them. Finally, if you’re there during the show, consider the performers on stage. They are really talented and should be appreciated. Have fun sexy people!

Amazing new space in the heart of Yorkville. This place is like no other in this city. From the MYSTIQUE of the entry to the powder room and cocktails truly a lounge to feel like a time capsule of the days of the rat pack. Love it !

Went to powder room last night, was invited by Adam, Luca & Rob! This place is a gem tucked away in Yorkville. The staff was very attentive & welcoming when I came in. The bar staff uses fresh ingredients to put together memorable cocktails. Danny placed me and my group close to the live band which was great. I will be coming back soon with my clients. Disappointed. Chaos getting in. More chaos leaving trying to get our coats. Had to go find it myself after waiting 15min. We had bottle service but no service. Rarely saw a waitress. Decor was nice though.

The staff are professional, welcoming, and attentive without ever being intrusive, which truly elevates the experience. Service was smooth, well organized, and consistent throughout the entire night. The crowd, music, and overall vibe strike the perfect balance between classy and lively. It’s refreshing to see a new venue set such a high standard right from the start.
