We went on jeep tour was lucky to be able to spend some time on the beach. Beautiful place with its own waterfall too. If your a paddle boarder or surfer perfect for it.

The beach offers an exceptional view and maintains a pristine black sand surface. However, parking can be challenging, and it is imperative to exercise caution due to the powerful nature of the ocean. Swimming should be undertaken with utmost caution.

This is a lovely beach, however I do feel it is quite overrated. The black sand makes it feel a little dirty and due to recent popularity it is very busy. Despite this, the water is incredibly clear and the surrounding scenery is unlike any beach you will see, very dramatic, with lots of greenery. Certainly not a must go but worth the time if you are nearby.

Beautiful beach and views.. The water is cold in Mid June.. But, feels amazing after a long day of hiking!... There are hoses and showers to rinse off after being covered in black sand!

The beach is set against beautiful, steep green mountains that reach all the way to the water, creating stunning views. However, the strong waves can make swimming dangerous, and the surrounding concrete walls and pier give the area an industrial feel that doesn’t blend well with the natural beauty.

Stunning beach with black sand and big rocks to lounge on. Perfect for a picnic or spot to read listening to the waves. Many people were surfing or swimming. The waves are very strong! Highly recommend on your trip to Madeira.

I am absolutely in love with this place! Such an incredible beach with unique black sand! I went there in May and it wasn’t too crowded

Small black sand beach. Due to its size it can get crowded. The view of the mist topped mountains while you are in the water is amazing. The waves were good - there is a surf school there so the waves must be good moat of the year. Beware there is only 1 public toilet near the beach and it can be a long queue.
