Praia do Forte Hostel

This is a wonderful hostel centrally located in Praia do Forte recognized by Hostelling International that has a variety of accommodation options. I spent 5 weeks as a solo senior (65 yrs old ) traveller here in a room with a private bathroom. My room was spacious and clean with a smart TV, efficient air conditioning, ceiling fan, comfortable bed and plenty of storage space. The bathroom had great water pressure and the shower had plenty of hot water. The included breakfast buffet had a nice variety of delicious food including vegetarian options. The staff at the hostel were all courteous, accommodating, professional and many spoke excellent English including the very friendly owner/manager Paulo. The wifi connection here was excellent. The hostel has bicycles available to rent. Residents of the hostel get huge discounts on many attractions and businesses in the Praia do Forte vicinity. There was a terrific self service laundry (Lavo) just steps away. This is a fantastic place to stay for solo budget travellers like myself, couples or families with children. I thoroughly enjoyed my 5 week stay in this quiet well managed hostel and would definitely return when visiting Praia do Forte.

Very lovely hostel the personnel work very hard to insure a great stay. Nice clean dorms fans during the day but air conditioning all night. Cafe de amanha with fruits juices and many kinds of cakes tapioca eggs ham and cheese. Lovely kitchen staff. Most reception staff spoke another language and were knowkegeable about transport and local tourist information. Cool areas to chill throughout the property.

Great hostel, lovely private rooms with all necessary amenities, nice breakfast, super location, spotlessly clean. Highly recommended.

Wonderful location with a warm and friendly staff! If you’re looking for an affordable and comfortable place to stay in Praia do Forte, I highly recommend this hostel. The atmosphere is welcoming, and it’s a great base for exploring the area.

One of most recommended histrionic in town, no age limits or your gender all welcome. Accessible disabled and walking distance to main street and other attractions, free wifi, breakfast included on price, microwaves, fridges available plus water (purchase) Parking at front of hotel limited. Staff friendly and English understood. Local tour plus discount with tickets are granted by using bracelet provided by hotel, Location wise is very quiet and pleasant, there are inside patio where you can sit and relax. Highly recommended!

Spacious and airy rooms! Fan and air conditioning.||Nice common area, hammock, good wifi.||There is no interaction activity organized by the hostel. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful, to give informations and help with tours.||The rooms are cleaned daily, however one of the rooms I stayed in had a very strong smell, possibly woody. The garbage of the toilet needs to be removed more often not just 1x a day.||Excellent breakfast, fresh fruits, juices, eggs, cuscus, cakes!

they really did make everything so easy. the room we had (Tatu) was huge, clean, cool (we never needed the air con even in mid January) and quiet, the receptionists, all three we met, were friendly and accommodating (they also all spoke English to save our broken Portuguese) and on arrival we were given free access to the TAMAR project, free access to the national park and discounts at certain restaurants and bars along the strip (we had no idea about this and were pleasantly surprised) the hostel itself is just off of the top of the strip and a five minute walk to the beach, just long enough to dry and remove the sand before you get back to the room. Much enjoyed, definitely recommended
