"On the west side of the city, Ingleses Beach is peaceful, easily accessible, and worth a visit for a simple beach walk or a full sun-filled day; it’s also home to our favorite nearby beach bar." - Coolstuff Team

Praia dos Ingleses

A lovely beach with soft sand and clear cold water, perfect for swimming and relaxing. It can get busy during peak season, so arriving early helps to find a good spot. There are a few cafés and bars nearby for snacks and drinks. The views of the cliffs and ocean are beautiful.

Catching golden hour at Praia dos Ingleses was unexpectedly moving. The light spills gently across the shoreline, bathing the rocks in soft amber tones that feel almost surreal. It’s the kind of place that slows you down and invites a bit of quiet reflection—even a touch of romance, if you’re in the right mood. The beach is clean, peaceful, and not at all crowded, even with such a beautiful view. Whether you're walking, watching the tide roll in, or just soaking in the atmosphere, it has a stillness that stays with you. If you’re into photography, bring your camera—the light and textures here are something special.

Google
Easily accessible by bus, as it is right along the busy main road....so traffic noise too. The beach is very narrow, gravelly not fine soft sands, and with strong waves, lots of rocky outcrops... and your feet sink in deep upto your ankles when walking. Not the best if you are looking for fine soft sands and beach games and gentle waves or gettingin the water. The waves are too strong. However, this place is great to watch waves crash on the many rocky outcrops along the beach. As the evening progresses, the waves recede exposing many more rocky platforms that soon become shallow tidal pools. Lots of pretty algae and tiny colorful stones. And if you like to watch the sun setting into the water, this place is perfect. Better still you can walk towards lighthouse and watch the sunset over the ocean horizon from there. The WC at the beach locks at 7pm. No restaurants right on the beach, but one can go to the ones up on the road.

One of the best spots in Porto to watch the sunset. The light hits the waves just right, and the sky turns into a painting every evening. Peaceful, clean, and not too crowded — perfect for a quiet walk or just sitting and taking it all in. Highly recommend coming here around golden hour!

Very beautiful! Waves were very strong. A nice path to walk.

Really nice and clean beach with small colourful stones and coarser, pebbly sand. This time it was even inviting for a quick dip, there were several people swimming and sunbathing.

Easy to reach beach, friendly vibe and bathrooms nearby (20 cent fee). The waves and current was pretty strong when we stopped by so I wouldn't recommend it for swimming

Exquisite, glorious sunset here to contemplate. A lot of people go for a walk, exercise, hang out with friends or walk their dog here while being showered by the charms of sunset. It is super windy here so make sure you are ready with scarf and warm clothes to enjoy without getting freezing!

Yelp
Loved this little spot. Even though the weather wasn't great the day we popped in here, the views were spectacular. It's a casual enough place, and was just right for a quick drink we needed before we continued on our travels. If I was in Porto again, I'd go back here.

Yelp
One of my most favorite places on the beach- beautiful views, good service, tasty food & drinks. I am coming back every time when in Porto!
