Praia Formosa

The beach has black sand and many many rocks 🪨!!! There are some cafeterias also but don’t expect something fancy! You must have water shoes!!! A bit difficult for swimming so be careful!!!

A mostly rocky beach with some little sand spots. There's a public restroom and a shower near its western end. Definitely would recommend shoes for swimming and even walking there.

A beach with a unique charm, with black sand (volcanic sand) in some areas and black pebbles. This beach has a public restroom, shower, and footbath. There are three bars and restaurants along this stretch and plenty of parking. Some areas have a lifeguard station, while others don't, although there are signs indicating this. There is a promenade that connects to the next town.

Beautiful black, stony beach. The promenade is great for walking, and there are public toilets and some nice, budget-friendly cafes around.

Nice place to walk to from our hotel. We arrived at the stoney pebble beach very hot and enjoyed a refreshing dip in the sea. Loved walking through the mountain tunnel. Stones surprisingly okay to lay on. Not busy. Wear waterproof sandles to go in the sea if you can.

Beautiful beach with a relaxed atmosphere! The pebbled shore and clear waters make it perfect for swimming and sunbathing. The view of the surrounding cliffs is stunning.

There is a section with stones, but also a great section with only black sand. Loved the beach, waves are not too big, it is not that busy and there is a free parking nearby.
