Praia Inhame Eco Lodge

We stayed at the lodge for one night. The bungalows are simple but clean. It is quiet at night. Dinner was a buffet and was good. Breakfast was also good. There wasn't a huge selection, but it was sufficient. The staff are all very friendly. Unfortunately, we were unable to book a tour to see the turtles laying their eggs.

We visited this lodge to get some lunch and hire a boat to Rolas Island. The manager was very kind to accommodate our needs, even though we were not overnight guests. The buffet lunch was 20 EUR per person and the round boat trip to Rolas 10 EUR each. I cannot attest to the quality of the lodges, but since it is an eco lodge, I'd assume they are rather basic It is a 2-hour drive from Sao Tome, and during the latter half of the drive, you will encounter many potholes and some rough dirt road.

Food was delightful with lots of choice and a variety of fish, meat and veg-friendly options! A nice location on the beach, and great to have hot water during certain hours The bird life around the gardens is magnificent, with pin-tailed whydahs darting around right in front of the cabin! And a rooster who wakes everyone up at 3:30am!. The boat to the equatorial island seems to go daily, for which you pay a guide, boat transport and for lunch on the island.Road travel to reach the place is very difficult, takes 2.5 hours, and airport transfer costs 80 euros each way (for 160 euros, you're better to rent a car and have freedom to go to other places). Cabins could use some work to make them more comfortable, for example the lighting really needs improvement. Also, staff need better training to understand pre-paid booking sites. If you book this hotel on Trip.com, make sure to bring a printed receipt and even a credit card statement to be prepared to fight when they insist that you pay in cash as well, even though you have a receipt saying you pre-paid by credit card. (I forwarded it to them by email and WhatsApp three times when they kept asking for it and saying I was supposed to depart a day earlier than I had booked for, and then they still chased me to the parking lot demanding cash payment.) They will also ask you to pay tourist tax on top of your room and VAT because they don't understand whether it is included. (They seem confused with *********** where you have to pay in cash on site - don't count on using a credit card.) Also they don't make change in euros so you will need small denomination euro notes. While I had gone here to relax after a stressful work trip in West Africa, these problems with staff not understanding booking and pre-payment and mistaking my date of departure made my stay unnecessarily stressful almost to the point of regretting my trip. Travel is an adventure, isn't it?

Perfect location. The bungalows are copy and clean. The bungalows are just on the beach with great palm trees. The restaurant is nice-with delicious food and live music. The most delicious octopus I have ever had.

Don't recomend AT ALL. - Dinner, if youbgate late you will get scrape from the earlier guests. No replace on food. - Room, bad as wind come directly to bed. - Staff, careless or nothing about you. Ther purpose is to get much money as possible without any effort. Suggestion there are other options to stay, like Vanhá. Perfect feasible to go to ilheu Rolas.

Pros;||- The bungalows are incredibly beautiful. |- I enjoyed the chickens and dogs around the property. |- Praia Piscina is a 15 minute walk away. |- You can organise trips to the equator and mangroves through the hotel. ||Cons;||- Upon arrival at 3pm I could not find ANY staff anywhere for 30 minutes for check in. |- I wish there were sun loungers for the beach. |- Myself and another guest were both going at the same time to equator on the same boat yet we were quoted two different prices each. |- Variety of dinner would have been nice. The non fish option was the same each day. |- No hot water for my entire duration of stay. ||Note, pictures on here are much better than on other booking platforms for the property.

Great overall experience. The road there is challenging, but nothing impossible. The lodge was great. Great food, the room was incredible and the views and experiences were just unbelievable.

It could be a unforgettable place. The location is simply beautiful. But it's run down. The door to the bathroom didn't close, during all the three days of our stay we didn't have warm water. The dinner is a buffet which means that if you come 10 minutes late a lot of the plates already are empty and get refilled only in part.... The service in general isn't very friendly.
