I loved every moment of my stay at Prana del Mar. The location is beautiful, the food was absolutely delicious, the staff were all so attentive and welcoming. I was there for one week for a yoga retreat and I can’t wait to go back. Everything was so clean. The attention to detail was great, the landscaping was stunning. The chef is incredibly talented and I dream about some of the dishes we ate… He was able to accommodate everyone’s dietary preferences and allergies. I’m so impressed with the entire experience.

Prana Del Mar is the most beautiful experience I have ever had at a resort. The grounds are Zen and well maintained. The staff is so friendly and willing to help you in anyway possible. The Azul pool is paradise. My room was private, located close to the ocean and cleaned daily. Every evening there was a bed turn down service. I received 3 spa services. Two massages and a facial with Hulia. She gave me the best massages I have ever received. It was blissful. The yoga rooms are spacious and stunning with a panoramic view of the ocean. We watch wales from the yoga studio and the pool deck daily. Amazing!!! Chef Efrain's meals are the most thoughtful form of art from the heart. His vegetarian recipes are the most delicious vegetarian meals I have ever eaten 😋 😍 Chef and his staff are so incredibly talented. The meals are exquisite. Trust me....you won't go hungry...EVER!!! Chef Efrain even prepared a beautiful birthday cake celebration for myself and my teacher. Our birthdays are 2 days apart. It was a complete surprise to see them bring out cakes lit up in our honor. It was so touching, it bought tears to my eyes. Prana Del Mar Resort should be a must do on your list of places to visit in life. I know, I will be back again and again. Thank you Eric and staff for the pleasure of being cared for in your sanctuary. I consider Prana Del Mar my personal Mecca of Yogic Magnificence. Rev. Zen, relaxing, beach retreat with amazing private chef who makes daily delicious farm to table pescetarian meals, juices and smoothies. Quiet walks on the beach, huge private yoga sala, horse back riding, and clean private town houses. Wake up to ocean views, many bird species, whales breaching and waves crashing. 30 min from downtown Cabo. Visited for two years in a row. Om shanti.

Prana Del Mar is a Zen, luxurious and eco-conscious retreat center overlooking the Pacific Ocean where whales often cruise by. I've had the pleasure of leading a retreat here. Erik and his staff are always professional, joyful and attentive. The food and accommodations are excellent. I highly recommend here.

We went to Prana del Mar last year because we were looking for a yoga retreat in Mexico. It was spectacular. The location and facilities were wonderful- steps from a gorgeous white sand beach, warm and spacious rooms, a lovely pool and beautiful grounds. The yoga rooms were spacious. The staff and owner couldn't have been more obliging. And the food was excellent and healthy. I cannot recommend this place enough!

This is a great yoga retreat in the heart of the Mexican coast. An excellent place for a vacation, as there is a beautiful beach, isolation, and also a lot of access to the nicer towns north of Los Cabos. If you are looking for a great yoga retreat center to head to this should top the list. The chef accommodated my gluten free requirements with a creative flair, and the amenities were much nicer than I would have anticipated. As far as Yoga retreats in Mexico go, this one was very high quality/comfort/food, and unbeatable setting!

I have been to Prana del Mar for three yoga retreats. The place is just incredible! The facility is beautiful -- high-end, spa-quality décor, lovely gardens, and a desert setting, just between the mountains and the sea, that will take your breath away. Views from the roof deck are fantastic -- I saw whales on two of my stays! This is not Cabo San Lucas -- it's about 30 miles up the Pacific Coast and totally off the grid. They generate their own solar-powered electricity and have their own well for water, which gets re-used in the gardens. There are no Senor Frogs or Planet Hollywoods. In fact, there's really almost nothing, but tranquility and shear beauty. The food is excellent; and, I'm from San Francisco, so that's saying a lot. Always fresh ingredients, lots of fruits and vegetables and some great seafood. Meat eaters will be disappointed though, as there is no meat on the menu. The staff is super friendly. Erik, the owner, and Benja will bend over backwards to make your stay comfortable and get you anything you need. They can also recommend activities outside the resort, like horseback riding, surfing, snorkeling, sea kayaking, or shopping in artsy Todos Santos, which is nearby. The only negative is that the beach at the property, while absolutely gorgeous and almost deserted, is not swimmable. It's great for long walks or horseback riding, but to swim in the ocean, you need to go about 30 minutes north or south. You should also note that Prana del Mar IS in the desert. You may see things like bugs and mice. I had a few people on one of my trips freak out about that, but come on -- beauty like this has tradeoffs. It has nothing to do with cleanliness. These things live there. If you want to stay at the Ritz Carlton, go ahead. But that ain't no yoga vacation. If you've done yoga retreats in Mexico or Indonesia or South America before, you're probably used to this. And, Prana del Mar will rank among the best.

Are you looking for a great vacation spot to practice yoga with delicious food and superb service? Then look no further. Prana Del Mar, a self-sustaining center powered only by solar panels, ranks as high as a luxury hotel but without the snobbery, from the impeccable service to the gourmet pescatarian and vegetarian dishes. The staff accommodated every dietary need: gluten and dairy free, paleo, and even those of us who lack the cilantro gene. Muy Bueno! The grounds were meticulously maintained with manicured gardens of flowering cacti and indigenous plantings interspersed between zen-like rock formations and sand mandalas. Beautiful. Erik, the owner of this magical place, put his heart and soul in creating an environment like none I had ever experienced. The trickle down effect of Erik's caring hospitality was felt with every staff member encountered. After patiently waiting what seemed an eternity (5 years), the stars aligned perfectly for me to reserve a spot in Jim Bennitt's tantric vinyasa yoga trip to Prana Del Mar located 15 miles north of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on a remote stretch of beach in the shadow of nearby mountains. Yoga twice a day allowed me to go deeper into some of the postures, which coalesced into my mind becoming clearer and body stronger. Jim's succinct teaching and clear instructions along with his dry wit gave us the confidence to move into each posture safely, whether a newer or advanced student. Various excursions were offered throughout the week, including horseback riding, cliff hiking, and whale watching from a boat. Since deciding to go completely off the grid and focusing on stillness, there were no excursions in my plan. However, the moment I was hoping for had come true when, from my room, I spotted whales spouting whisks of ocean water from their blow holes and seeing fins and flukes at night. Whether you are a newbie who has never been on a yoga retreat, or an experienced retreater who has been on many, I would highly recommend checking out Prana Del Mar. I've only been home for a few days and I cannot wait to return next year!

Yelp
Thee most beautiful retreat center I have ever been to. 5 star service and food in an off-the-grid paradise. I cat say enough about the freshness and quality of the food. Variety with every dietary requirement being met. Amazing.

Yelp
Our experience at Prana Del Mar was beyond excellent. From the immaculate rooms to the gourmet food and incredible yoga facilities, everything was perfect. There is no way to capture the beauty and perfection of this space and all that the staff and owner offer. Every expectation I had was exceeded!

Yelp
I'm standing here overlooking their pool as I write this, on my last day of retreat. This is my second visit to Prana del Mar and it's fantastic again! Helps that Naushon Kabat-Zinn is such an inspirational and balanced teacher, but also the resort itself is just lovely. I've been to maybe 15 yoga retreats over the years, and the food here is by far the best I've had. Often the "healthy" theme means flavorless, repetitive, and unfulfilling, but not here! We had a fantastic green tea chocolate lava cake last night- it would rival desserts at the best restaurants in San Francisco. The staff is warm and welcoming, and the grounds (in the middle of a cactus desert, with the Pacific Ocean as a backdrop) are beautiful. The birdwatching is also outstanding, and make sure you go with Casey on the kayak/ snorkeling trip, where he is bound to find a pufferfish for you to pet! I prefer the rooms and yoga studios at resorts in Tulum because they are all open air, while these are more like hotel rooms, but the weather here is more extreme so that makes sense. Baja is a harsh environment with huge temperature swings, so you need to be able to close the room up in cold wether, but I do miss the wind rushing through and the sound of the sea. Still, less than 3 hours from SF, with fantastic food and this lovely view... I'll be back!
