Prashad Café (Kloof Street)

Delicious food, friendly helpful staff, clean and fresh restaurant. We hunted all of cape town for good vegan Indian food, and found this lovely spot. Meat-eaters, vegetarians and vegans can enjoy this spot! Will definitely be coming back to try more dishes!

This is one of my fav spots for some fav Indian dishes that are 100% vegan. Great selection and every dish I’ve had so far has been flavorful and spiced just right. They use mock meat and cheese, and have now included tofu in some dishes. It’s a small spot in a strip mall on Kloof Street. Not the most friendly guy managing the place…hence the 3 stars for service. This time I tried the mock chicken breyani, which was filing. And a couple of soya samosas.

I love Prashad and get it 2-3 times a week! I get my curries extra mild (caucasian) and many of the other branches just ignore this instruction. Kloof Street gets it right. My personal favorites are the Chicken Korma, Vegetable Korma and Butter Chicken. I genuinely find the faux chicken has better texture for those dishes than real chicken.

Best Indian food in town! Almost all dishes with vegan options. Samosas are great too!

The food was amazing as always. The butter beans bunny was delicious. The bread was really fresh and the mild version was not hot at all. There are plenty of vegan options.

Love this vegetarian Indian restaurant. We use Uber Eats delivery in a regular basis with this Indian restaurant. Our personal favourites are the Potato Vadas with Tamarind sauce. Affordable and love supporting local business.

We keep coming back here! Don’t hesitate, just go!! Our favorite soy chicken naan. But everything we had sofar is great.
