Everything at Prato in Brașov was excellent. I had been here over 10 years ago, and the memory stuck with me — I’m happy to say it’s just as good as I remembered. We showed up dressed very casually, and it wasn’t an issue at all. We had oysters, carbonara, vongole pasta, and a pâté with fruit jam — all beautifully prepared. Our waiter was incredibly kind and attentive, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We were celebrating our engagement, and it truly felt special — maybe that’s why it all seemed even more magical. We loved it so much that, even though we had dinner elsewhere the next night, we came back just for dessert — and yes, those didn’t disappoint either. Highly, highly recommend. A place that stays in your heart.

Absolutely delighted with the deserts and ambience of this restaurant. Their barretta di chiocolate was exceptional, the flavours of everything on the plate were complimented perfectly with each other! The pineapple gelato with olive oil was blissfully delicious! The waiters were extremely attentive and made us feel extremely welcomed .

We visited the restaurant with certain expectations — the interior and pricing suggested an author’s approach and bold gastronomic impressions. However, the reality leaned more toward classic simplicity than culinary experimentation. The soup was a pleasant surprise — tasty, with an interesting depth of flavor thanks to the truffle paste. The pizza was edible, but it clearly isn’t the restaurant’s strong point. The duck foie gras was fine — delicate and as it should be, but without a “wow” effect. The Bolognese pasta was done in a traditional homemade style: ground meat, tomato sauce, and penne. Tasty, but without surprises or any chef’s twist. The duck breast with celery puree and beetroot, unfortunately, was disappointing. Some pieces of meat were overcooked, while others were pleasantly pink and flavorful. The celery puree lacked the bright, distinctive flavor of celery — it likely contained too much potato. The promised combination of duck and celery wasn’t fully realized. The beetroot also didn’t impress — simply roasted, without smoky notes or cherry marinade as one might expect for a more refined taste. Overall, the restaurant seems to gravitate toward classical dishes without bold or unique chef-inspired touches. For the prices, one would expect a more creative approach and surprising flavor combinations.

We were near Brașov and looking for a gluten-free restaurant for our daughter. A celiac friend recommended Prato Restaurant, located in Brașov. My wife called ahead, and when we arrived, the waiter, Cornel, was already expecting us. We reminded him about our daughter's dietary requirements, and he reassured us by explaining the measures they would take to ensure her food was prepared with utmost care. He had already informed the kitchen staff, ensured new dishes would be used, and assisted us in choosing suitable options for our daughter. Since our daughter was undecided about what to eat, he even customized the menu for her. We ordered two different pasta dishes, a duck dish for my wife, and, in the end, a gluten-free dessert made with homemade sorbet. Everything was absolutely delicious, and we cannot thank Cornel enough for his dedication. He is one of the best waiters we’ve ever encountered. Many thanks as well to the Prato manager and the rest of the staff, who were remarkably well-trained and polite!

I had been to Prato twice back in 2022 and then in 2025. The first time was great. The second time left a lot to be desired. The whole bill was very pricey (290 lei) for two appetizers and very very bad calamari. On top of that our waiter was rude. Just go to another Italians restaurants, there are much better ones nearby.
