Hotel Seehof Davos (Davos, Swiss Alps) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Positioned right next to the Parsenn funicular, which provides direct access to the ski slopes and hiking trails of the Swiss Alps, the Seehof Davos is one of the oldest hotels in town. Opened as a family-run guesthouse in 1869, the hotel was expanded a few times before it was snapped up by the German-based Precise Hotels & Resorts group and reborn as the luxurious Precise Tale Seehof Davos. Restorations preserved many of the building’s loveliest features — classic alpine architecture, a cozy fireplace-warmed bar, a breakfast room with mountain views — and additions include a state-of-the-art spa and an elegant bistro specializing in fondue." - Tablet Hotels

We have just spent 2 nights at this hotel with our 18 year old granddaughter. What a treat! Our room was large and well furnished and we had beautiful views from our balcony over the mountains. We dined in the restaurant on both nights and although the menu was limited the food was lovely. The Spa area was excellent. We would definitely Italy recommend this hotel.

My wife and I travelled to this hotel as part of a tour (Titan Travel). Although the hotel rates itself as 5 star we felt the catering aspect let it down. This was mainly the lack of choice of food for dinner. On the 2 times we ate there the choice was 1 main & 1 vegetable option and 1 desert dish, not what you would expect for 5 stars. There was also a mix up during the week when we should of been eating in the restaurant but there was no food available until the staff managed to make some urgently. It is unknown whether this was lack of communication between the hotel and tour rep.|On the plus side the room was clean, comfortable and well appointed with a lovely view

It’s a 5* hotel for a reason. We were welcomed with a smile and they had secure private parking for our motorbikes. My friend booked a massage and we arrived and got a room upgrade. What an amazing room also. Our waitress was nice, funny, professional and helpful. Yes the 1 night bill was £300 plus drinks and meals but well worth it. The beds were so comfy my friends fell asleep at 9:30 and myself at 10:15 then woke up just to turn the tv off. The best sleep I had on a 10 day 9 night tour around Europe.

I stayed at this hotel as part of a train journey holiday for solo travellers organised by SAGA (aka Titan).|I agree with all the reviews that commend the hotel for its cleanliness, its friendly professional staff*|and convenient location to access public transport, shops and restaurants. There is a bus stop on the door step and a SPAR around the corner. |*Special mention for waitress Eva hard working and very pleasant. |About the room, I was impressed by the comfort of the bed, ample pillows and crisp white linen. Fluffy towels and toiletries. An added bonus I did not expect was a Nespresso machine in the room.|My room (160) was not representative of all rooms, it was big and the bathroom included a jacuzzi bath and walk in shower. |Although the jacuzzi proved to be just for show as the plug was broken and could not be used even for a bath.|What is very frustrating and also a potential health and safety issue is that there is no way of contacting reception by phone from the room. Contact can only be made by using ‘chat’ on a tablet provided within the room with a response time of within 1 hour. So it is not really chat if one has to wait for up to an hour for a response. Nor is it of any use to anyone in an emergency. I feel our group of elderly single travellers were particularly at risk. I suppose we could have opened our windows and shouted for help from passers by in the event of an emergency. Or use mobile phones to make an external call to reception. |My room was almost unbearably hot as it was lined with pine with no air conditioning. Outside temperature was over 26 degrees but reception did provide a fan. |Food lets the hotel down somewhat when it comes to its 5 star rating. Breakfast falls short of the continental breakfast I am accustomed to in other parts of Europe (my first trip to Switzerland so perhaps it is typical for Swiss hotels). It is buffet style and not replenished so go early if you want the best choice on offer. |Three evening meals were included in our package, the first on arrival (generally) did not go down very well. Rather a disappointing choice of either venison or a white bean casserole. The salad buffet that is on offer each evening has very limited choice. Our second and third meals were better but not 5 star. |The bistro style restaurant I used for meals not included in the holiday has limited choice and is expensive relative to the UK, £36 for a small beef burger and chips. |I have deducted 1 star for the following:|Lack of phones in the room|Bath that could not be used.|Non replenishment of buffet items ( breakfast and dinner) |All of which are within the hotel’s control to make perfect. |For those considering the SAGA/Titan train holiday note that the hotel is not ideally situated to access the Glacier Express. The itinerary does not inform you until you get here that the departure time for that excursion is 5.30 am returning at 5 pm.

Unfortunately, our experience at the Seehof Davos Hotel raised serious concerns regarding the validity of its claimed five-star status. First and foremost, there is a complete lack of service, which is a cornerstone of any high-end hotel. The restaurant staff, particularly the waiters, demonstrated a very low level of training: they are unfamiliar with basic service standards, not customer-oriented, and show no initiative. For example, during dinner, guests are offered only a single dish — chicken with rice — which is entirely inappropriate for a five-star hotel in terms of both variety and culinary standards. What is even more surprising is that even basic beverages such as water and juice are not included in the dinner price and must be paid for separately. This not only contradicts guest expectations but also goes against internationally accepted hospitality standards. Another issue concerns the spa and sauna area. Guests have to return to the reception desk to request access, as there is no staff present in the wellness area. This is highly inconvenient and undermines the very concept of comfort and premium service. Housekeeping is a separate issue. Bottled water is provided only once, upon check-in. After that, guests are expected to use the paid minibar — something that can hardly be considered guest-friendly. Moreover, daily cleaning is essentially limited to making the bed: the bed linen is not changed, and the overall cleanliness of the bathroom and other areas raises questions. It is difficult to understand what criteria still allow Seehof Davos to present itself as a five-star hotel. Based on the shortcomings described above, the actual service level corresponds more closely to a three-star property — at best. This discrepancy between advertised and actual quality leaves guests not only disappointed but also questioning the credibility of the hotel star rating system. We strongly recommend that the hotel management urgently revise their service standards, provide retraining for staff, and reconsider their approach to service delivery if they genuinely aim to meet international five-star standards.

Hotel Seehof Davos is a timeless luxury retreat, located directly on the famous Promenade in Davos Dorf. With origins dating back to 1869, it masterfully blends historic alpine charm with modern five-star amenities. Its warm, traditional interiors, refined service, and direct access to ski lifts make it an ideal choice for wellness lovers, business travelers, and mountain enthusiasts alike.

Really liked this hotel. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. There was an electrical problem with my room after the first night and I was moved to an equivalent room without any argument or hassle. These things happen sometimes. It wasn’t the hotel’s fault and they dealt with it elegantly. Always a good test of a well managed hotel. ||The other great thing about this hotel is that it is right next to the Parsenn ski lift which is the major lift of the resort. ||Will definitely use it again.

After a mix up with the twin rooms at check in the stay was excellent. Nice rooms, decent breakfast, superb location re train, ski hire and ski lift. Great spa. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful - especially Visar Seqiri who was super helpful getting our car restarted after a flat battery. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for Visar!
