Located in a charming valley near a lake, this hotel is really perfect. A restaurant and a bar are just a few steps from here. Thanks to this hotel, we have had a safe and cozy place to stay in after midnight. This hotel saves us in a rainy night after hiking for over 14 hours. The staffs here are really nice and helpful. One kind and enthusiastic lady has helped us a lot with our breakfast and traffic. I hope this hotel could accept our most cordial thanks, and I will recommend my friends to stay here the next time.

Really nice place, ideally located with a great restaurant and a shop. Floating saunas are available to rent, as well as stand up paddles and kayaks. You can even test you skills at throwing axes !

We had a wonderful experience with both the lodge and the restaurant. The room in the main lodge had a great view and was spacious. The breakfast, lunch and dinner delicious. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Special kudos to the young and cute Swedish guy who was very pleasant.

We had a great teambuilding event here. So happy with this stay. Everything went smooth. Check-in/check-out was really easy, great food, excellent service, fun teambuliding activities, rooms were clean and nice. We were lucky to enjoy the floating sauna in beautiful weather. The location is also great if doing the hike to the Pulpit rock. I definitely recommend this place.

Great spot if you want to hike the Preikestolen. We chose the hikers camp, which was in the warm weather unfortunately not very comfortable. During the day the cabin heats up very much, but in the night you can’t open the door due to the vast amount of insects. The air circulation system of the cabin did not really do anything. Next time we will choose a room. The rest of the location is beautiful! The beach is very quiet and has perfect water, the food is tasty in the restaurant and the service was very friendly. The location was of course the best, directly next to the hiking start. For the car, we received a QR code to exit the official parking spot for free. The toilets and showers are ok, though the hike to the showers was quite an effort in the morning. Overall a great location!

Ah, the “half barrel experience” — proof that you can pay 900 NOK for less than nothing. First, the fun part: you get to haul all your luggage 500 meters downhill on gravel. Think of it as an unpaid audition for a Norwegian edition of Survivor. No concrete path, no luggage cart — just you, your bags, and gravity. Once you arrive, you’re rewarded with a sleeping space so tiny that if two people stay inside, your luggage will have to sleep outside (or on top of you). Claustrophobics, rejoice — it’s basically a wooden coffin with a door. Bathrooms? Yes, but don’t expect to wash your hands — there’s no sink. Showers are even more exciting: they’re located back up at the top of the hill, so you can get sweaty again right after getting clean. Overall, this is minimalism taken to a cruel extreme. Zero comfort, zero practicality, but 900 NOK lighter in your wallet. Perfect if you’ve ever wanted to know what it feels like to camp badly and pay hotel prices for the privilege. ⭐ 0/5 – Next time, I’ll just sleep on a bench.

Hard to argue with using this as your basecamp for a morning hike. They had a room (albeit it unlocked) to store our backpacks while we did our hike in the early morning. Overall, the lodge rooms met our expectations and it was nice to have the larger public spaces to play cards/games and relax by the fire. The only meal we had was the breakfast and it had a variety of items to please everyone in our family. For a snack/treat, order the waffle with ice cream - by far the best thing we ate and the price was right. The only knock on the rooms is the bathroom door that doesn't securely close for privacy - definitely an odd design given the size of the rooms. Wishlist - free coffee drinks for paid guests.

If possible, avoid this place. The "doghouse" is about 300 meters from the parking lot, you can reach it on a very steep gravel road. The mattresses were wet and there were bugs crawling around, which bit me in 3 places by morning. The staff is phlegmatic, rude. There is mold in the bathroom.

Yelp
So you want to stay somewhere close to Preikestolen? This wonderful hotel named Preikestolen Fjellstue is the answer. It is the perfect starting and ending point for your hike up to Pulpit Rock. The main building is the hotel lodge where every room has a private bath. Another smaller building is the hostel where the rooms have shared bathrooms. The rooms were alright. Definitely, not fancy. Although, WiFi was included...the signal was not very good inside our room. Had to go down to the lounge area or lobby area in order to use it. Bed wasn't the best, but I still slept well. Breakfast was included with our accommodation, and the food was pretty good. We also tried their restaurant for dinner. Their were only a few entree choices, but all were very good. The Norwegian Meatball entree was my favorite. Would I stay here again? Yup! We've already crossed Preikestolen off our bucket list, but I recommend staying at this lodge when you are in this part of Norway.

Yelp
I stayed one night here in a 2-bedroom hostel by myself for one of my hikes to Preikestolen. The rooms were clean when I visited, and the staff was nice and spoke great English. Check-in and check-out was a breeze, they give you a key tied to a wooden knob/plank with your room number. The location is great as you are right by Pulpit Rock, but there are a variety of activities you can do on-site. One of the best things here was the free breakfast. I stayed there the entire time, people watching and trying out all the unique foods from the area. I also had lunch here as well, which was reasonably priced considering the price of food everywhere else in Norway.

Yelp
Mixed review about this place. Food I would give 4stars to.... had the meatballs with potatoes and vegetable and they were delicious. A bit pricey but expected in a place like this Service I would give 2stars....staff was not attentive at all. We had to wait quite awhile to order, even though when we were seated there were only 2 other tables that had guests. If we wanted something we had to wave our Hands to get their attention. Worse was when we wanted the check. Customer service at the front desk/gift shop was terrible!!! I had a question about an item that they were selling and was basically given an "i really don't care if you buy it or not" attitude in return

Yelp
It's definitely not the Radisson Blu or even a Holiday Inn Express back in the US, but you don't come here to be pampered in an elegant room with all kinds of amenities. You come here to explore the amazing hiking trails. The buffet breakfast was good and a lamb shank dinner in the restaurant was very good. The rooms are clean and you have a bed and a bathroom. Out the window is the lake and mountains. Beautiful one of a kind place and friendly staff.
