My family had a great experience here. There are different menu items that range from just the simple eggs, bacon and toast breakfast to poutine or green chili French toast. I guess a little something for everyone to try. The pastries were delicious. We split several items and all of them were good. The cinnamon roll was fluffy with a good and not too sweet frosting. The raspberry donut with chocolate frosting was very tasty as was the cookie dough croissant donut. Our food was all fresh and the staff was very good as well.

Google
I been meaning to try this place for a while now. When I heard they opened a location in Scottsdale and the line was 2 hrs long; I said that’s it, I have to try it. It is perfect for a brunch date. Good luck deciding on what to get! The menu is so extensively creative you will have to come back and try the 3 other options that had you torn. I always try for a sweet and savory and the monte cristo French toast sandwich was the best combo without greedily wanting to order two entrees.

Google
prep and pastry has a nice atmosphere, somewhat upscale, and had superlative service. Unfortunately the food was hit and miss. I was taking my friend out for a birthday breakfast. They ordered the biscuits and gravy, and it was cold and floury. The second batch that they brought was almost exactly the same temperature, and the gravy Inedible. The manager came by immediately and inquired about the issues with the food. They were nice, professional and took it off the bill immediately. Our waiter was helpful and very nice too. My entrée was much tastier as it was the hollandaise with smoked salmon. Unfortunately, both my friend and I became ill after we got home which we suspect was due to the duck grease in both dishes. This is just speculation, but as our symptoms were identical, we are convinced the cause is the food. I hope that they can get their kitchen together because they do have a good crew otherwise.

Google
I was visiting Tucson for a few days to check out the University of Arizona with my daughter. I was so impressed by this restaurant that I came back for a second visit! The food was delicious and the service was great. Picture of the simple breakfast as well as the Avo & Herb toast.

Google
SOOOO BOMB. Very reasonably priced for this style of restaurant and quality of food. everything was delicious and our server was super nice and attentive as well. There were a couple sneaky upcharges ($5 for two slices of bacon) but that happens everywhere so just be aware when your server suggests an add on

Google
Tummy tickling tasteful in Tucson! Wonderful experience, service was great even on Mother's Day, they even had flowers for moms! The atmosphere was pleasant and seating was close but not uncomfortable! Food: Very tasty with little grease! Most of the food seemed baked or grilled rather than fried. Flavor was great, size was healthy but not too much. Everything we had was great! Would recommend everything we got. We were very impressed with the service. Our server Angel was one of the best servers we have ever had! Very personal and welcoming! We will be coming back!

Google
Weird experience at best. My man got the Shakshuka, and it was awful. The whole sprigs of cilantro were embarrassing as well. No one wants to eat cilantro stems, and it takes almost no time to trim your cilantro. Tasted nothing like the Shakshuka we've had, overwhelmingly pepper flavor. We were excited to try it as you don't see it on menus often. There was no wait for our table. My matcha was the WORST matcha I have ever had in my life. Whoever in the back that's making it needs to watch a youtube video or something because I have never had such bitter and grainy matcha before. It was a disgrace to matcha, and I don't say that lightly. My duck confit tasted great, but the speed at which everything came out was quite concerning. We ordered our food, and it came out not even 4 minutes later. They definitely had it pre made and waiting, which is not a good look when I'm spending 60 bucks on brunch. I would not return despite how many people have told me how great this place is. The duck confit was good, but knowing it was sitting there until I ordered it is disgusting.

Google
Everything here is fantastic from the servers to the food quality/quantity. Not expensive whatsoever and the variety is sure to meet everyones cravings. The pastries, which go fast, are delicious and made fresh. We ordered an omlete and a monte christo, fiancee loved her peppermint oatmilk coffee too. Can’t go wrong with anything, always excited to come back!

Yelp
Great service. Delicious food. They have a bakery for to go orders too. I look forward to my next visit

Yelp
We discovered this lovely place while visiting old Tucson. It was a found treasure. The menu was creative, and every time I've visited, the creativity was matched with great execution. I tried the Poblano Beni and later the Bliss Bowl. Both were amazing. My dining companion had the Ckickpea Scramble the Sweet Potato Hash and was equally enchanted. The service was friendly, because of course it makes one happy to bring outstanding food to hungry people. From now on, every visit to Tucson will include flagship plans to visit this remarkable eatery.

Yelp
Reservation worked out. Attentive server and service, The place was bright airy and spacious although we had a table just for two- many 2 persons had a table for 4. We were hungry and torn about so many menu items. We ended up each getting our own breakfast plates and then sharing the French toast that has the chai butter and fruit which was so amazing. I'm so glad we had that to share between us. We both had the lady Earl Grey tea, which was delicious. The omelette and the Benny were delicious as well. I would totally go back here again. There were so many baked goods that looked delicious too but there were other items on the menu I would want to try next time. I would even wanna come back just to try their Cobb salad. It's just a cheerful nice place to be & the staff was very friendly.

Heather H.

Yelp
Food was okay. Fried chicken had no flavor but was at least crispy. Service was horrible. Ordered a "loose leaf" tea, came out with the tea bag string sticking out of the spout. Had to ask for honey, 10 minutes later had to ask some one else. Got a little 2 oz open plastic portion cup with no way to stir my tea, had to use my knife to stir my tea. Other member of my table ordered french toast and had to grab another server other than our own to get syrup because ours was either spread way too thin with too many tables or she just wasnt checking im not really sure which. Ambiance was good just really cramped the way they have their tables Over all 2/5 probably wont be returning :(

Yelp
We had an amazing brunch at Prep & Pastry. The outdoor seating was fantastic in a warm Saturday morning. Our party ordered some breakfast and some lunch options. I had the Turkey Club and if I've ever had a better club sandwich, I don't remember it. My daughter agrees. So good. The pasties were amazing. Great service. Really fun/nice atmosphere. We will be back.

Leeza D.

Yelp
So the funny story is that I had an amazing experience at Prep & Pasty on Grant that I ended up at this Prep location also. The food is fresh, clean and delicious. Highly recommended and i plan on coming back if I'm in this neck of the woods. Parking relatively easy during peak hours.

Pamela L.

Yelp
With over 2K positive reviews, I hate to give this popular brunch spot a 3-star rating. I will just cut to the chase... - very dense French Toast - artificial tasting strawberry jam - terrible Blueberry Matcha Latte (very watery even though it is made with oat milk) - can't really taste the duck in the Cast Iron Duck Confit Service was friendly.

Dexter Z.

Yelp
Great brunch spot !! I really like the care put into the food and drinks here ! The atmosphere is on point and their staff is very attentive and solid ! Good work to this team !

Mandy T.

Yelp
We came here for brunch on Sunday around 1:45 pm and were seated immediately with no wait for a table for two. The food was delicious, and we particularly enjoyed the Smoked Salmon Benedict and the Steak and Egg Sandwich. The smoked salmon was actually cooked and had a slightly sweet flavor, possibly from brown sugar, which was really tasty. However, the English muffin was undercooked and too doughy. As for the drinks, the Brunch Punch had a good flavor but was a little too sweet for my taste. Unfortunately, I didn't enjoy the Fuegorita at all; it was overly sweet, and the flavor combination didn't work for me. The strawberry honey mimosa was also too sweet. On a brighter note, the Butterfly Mimosa was fantastic, with an amazing blend of flavors that I absolutely loved.

Emma Y.

Yelp
We came here on a vacation to Tucson. Initially I thought it was going to be just an overpriced brunch place (which Tucson is ridden of) but to my pleasant surprise it was delicious, exceptional service, high quality breakfast options, and the green chile eggs Benedict is still a frequent conversation brought up around my house! Do go here! Eat some good dang food and don't forget to try a doughnut while you're at it.

Alex J.

Yelp
First time at prep and pastry and I got two halves, chicken & toast and southwest croissant sammie. The food and waiter service were great! I loved what I got and our waiter was attentive. We had tried the Yelp wait, and we still waited about 40 minutes after putting ourselves in the que (initial quote was around closer to 20 minutes.) They had also gotten my total wrong, $7 too high, and my friend had noticed the total seemed off. I appreciate the manager coming out to talk to me and we got it resolved. I would still recommend if you have the time to wait.

Krista R.

Yelp
I like the menu and the food has always been good in general, no complaints about that. I went specifically because I saw on BringFido that it was dog friendly. When we got there, none of the outdoor tables were set up (understandable, it's hot). The hostess quickly brought us silverware and menus. The waiter wasn't rude, but he seemed annoyed. He brought us water for our dogs and still gave good service, just not enthusiastically. But hey, we have our days. I'll still be back!

Chuck S.

Yelp
We went to the East Grant road store yesterday to give this place a try. I was not impressed in the least bit. To start with the dino g room was filthy, the waiter had a shirt on that looked like it hadn't been washed for a month, and the water glasses were sketchy to say the least. We should have walked out but gave it a chance. The food tasted good at first but quickly became almost un-edible. Their attempt to be trendy with interesting food combinations just failed. The Pastry shelf was dismal with nothing but a couple of old looking muffins so even their signature, part of the name, dish was dismal. Finally to top it all off I had a need to visit the bathroom which looked like it also hadn't been cleaned for a month. The sink was dirty the toilet has debris dried all over it and it was just a filthy mess. Needless to say I will never recommend this place to anyone I care about and of course will never set foot in there again. So much for their pretending to be a fashionable trendy and quirky dining place.

Kate S.

Yelp
The space is cute with indoor and outdoor seating. Can get a little loud when crowded though. Our server was friendly and he helpfully suggested that buying a bottle of champagne was cheaper than four mimosas separately. The food was all delicious and the portion sizes were large.

Gabrielle S.

Yelp
Prep and Pastry is a solid brunch destination during the weekdays. Getting in and seated is a breeze. We chose to enjoy our meal on the patio since the weather was lovely; however, I recall there being misters at this location in the past. Midway through our meal, we all started to feel quite warm, and I found myself wishing that we'd sat inside. I ordered a seasonal matcha drink, but I must admit that their seasonal offerings can be inconsistent. Last week, I tried the coconut chai and did not enjoy it at all, which is rare for me! Typically, I go for the shakshuka, a reliable dish that shines even more with the addition of breakfast sausage, either cooked in or served on the side. I highly recommend anything that includes their potatoes--they prepare them perfectly! Great place if you're looking for cute, casual, and decent brunch spot.

Karl S.

Yelp
Time for an update. Since my last review, Prep & Pastry has moved to a new larger location a little further south on Campbell. After some iterations, they've also created a nice outdoor seating area, although road moisture from Campbell may be an issue for some. The food is great. By far the best brunch restaurant in town. A nice selection of brunch drinks both NA and alcoholic. My fave is the cure. Too many good choices on the menu. I went for the club sandwich with a side of fruit and my dining partner chose the chicken and toast, P&P's take on chicken and waffles. Staff was attentive and friendly. Keep doing the great job P&P!

Leah W.

Yelp
Food come out quick and hot. This is such a cute place! Amble seating with an amazing patio. I can't believe how fast the food came out. So many options for everyone too. Our server was pretty kind as well. I'm visiting my friend from out of town and would definitely come back next time I'm in Tuscon.

Lynn E.

Yelp
This will be a repeat. The food is OUTSTANDING!!! The drinks are very strong and easy to go down; beware. The baked goodies are a must and buy them immediately; don't wait.

Chelsea J.

Yelp
I did not enjoy my breakfast at all here this morning. I ordered the smoked salmon hash, it shouldn't even be called that because there was so little salmon in it I couldn't taste it. There were about 4 bites of unseasoned roasted cauliflower in the whole bowl. Hiding under the egg was a big pile of potatoes. Potatoes made up basically the entire dish. The pastry was decent. Our server was a somewhat snarky female but then a guy took over, but didn't introduce himself. I thought he was just the food runner. I left still hungry. Won't be back.

Anh N.

Yelp
I'm not really sure how I feel about this place. We happen to drive by this place before our bicycle ride so I thought I'd ordered to go so we won't get too hungry. The front person who took my order said 10-15 minutes. After about 20 minutes, my partner went in to check and they said they forgot to put it in... so I went back in to cancel and the guy said it'll be like 5 minutes.... I know they were rushing to make it but definitely left the quality out of it.... It was just weird looking... for $20 there's literally no food... anyways. Sad story. They took so long that we had to ride in more heat than we wanted to.

Liliana S.

Yelp
This was my first time trying Prep & Pastry, and it was amazing! I ordered the avocado toast & my friend ordered the basic breakfast (eggs, toast, potatoes, & bacon). Both plates were delicious! The staff seated us quickly and placed our orders within minutes of us sitting down. This brunch joint is perfect for the brunch guys & girls who love aesthetic pictures and a bright place to talk with friends all morning. I saw they opened a location where I'm from so I am excited to try it back home!

Palak S.

Yelp
We were able to join the waitlist on Yelp prior to arriving, which definitely saved us some time. There was still a wait, but about 15 to 20 minutes. We ordered the poblano Beni, steak and egg sandwich, and sweet potato hash. One of the items had meat in it, and was supposed to be vegetarian, but the server was amazing and had it remade and comped that portion of the meal as well. The food was delicious and would definitely return for that. Great flavor and well-made! We also ordered two coffee drinks, which were a little too sweet so not sure we would order those again.

Maria E.

Yelp
This is my second time here and it was really good. We arrived on a Saturday, at noon and only waited about five minutes to be seated. The staff is friendly and attentive and there is patio dining as well as a more than ample sized dining room. I had the Smoked Salmon Hash and my husband had the Cast Iron Duck Confit (just two of their generous gluten free choices) In addition to the food menu, there was a menu dedicated to all kinds of interesting brunch libations. Next time... Our food was delivered quickly and was hot, hearty and tasty. Not being far from the University, this place has a young and vibrant crowd. I would call the atmosphere stylish and fresh, which well accompanies its offerings and well plated dishes. I definitely recommend for breakfast, lunch or brunch, whether leisurely or if you're looking for a quick-ish bite. They are well organized and the turn around time is surprisingly impressive.

Jessica B.

Yelp
Yikes, where do I begin? I don't normally like to give one-star reviews, but for this place, I would give zero stars if I could. I don't understand the high reviews this place has, but we must have come on an off day. I'll start with the horrible parking lot. The lines in the lot have all but completely disappeared, which to many people means they can park however they want. Many people took up multiple spots because there were no lines, making a parking spot incredibly difficult to find. I had to wait about 5 minutes before another party left, and I grabbed their spot. Also, their lot has a ton of pot holes. They need to fix their parking lot asap. Once my husband and I got inside, we were seated right away, but then it went downhill from there. We waited for another 10 minutes before our order was taken. I got the All Hail the Omelette, and my husband got the Turkey Club sandwich. We then waited for 45 minutes for our food to get to the table but were suddenly told by our waitress that their system "went down" and our food order never got to the kitchen. Yet everyone else managed to get their food just fine, even those who arrived after us. I think our waitress simply did not put our order in and blamed their system instead of owning up to what she did. She also never once came by within those 45 minutes to check on us. Now I know why as she never put in our order. The waitress took our order again, and they put a rush on our food, but we only had about 5 minutes left to eat before we had to leave and go back to work. My husband scarfed down his sandwich, which he said was not very good as it was a toasted club sandwich, and it made the lettuce soggy and the mayo was warm (gross). I had a couple of bites of my food and then took the rest of mine to go. The omelette was dry, and the cheese was barely melted. The house potatoes are just smashed potatoes with no seasoning, very bland. They brought out a donut on the house and comped half of our bill, but in all honesty, they should have comped the whole bill and not bothered with the donut. My husband ended up giving the donut to a coworker as neither of us wanted it. All in all, we will not come here again unless we want to wait forever for our food only to have it never show up and have horrible service.

LaRae B.

Yelp
Super cute restaurant with delicious, fresh food and professional service. We were a table of 5 on a busy Saturday morning. We were seated in about 20 minutes. After ordering our food and beverages arrived quickly. Will return next time we're in Tucson.

Helene B.

Yelp
Amazing spot!!!! We went for brunch and the food was amazing, drinks were tasty, staff was super friendly and the place was just super cute itself! I had the steak and egg sandwich (which comes with a side of potatoes) and it was soooo good!

Alexiz A.

Yelp
Salad series! I got the kale Ceasar salad with chicken and a raspberry white chocolate matcha. It was so good! The dressing for the salad was flavorful and zesty and the matcha was a fun dessert drink

Tess M.

Yelp
The food is always excellent. It's timely. Staff is courteous and friendly and professional. I highly recommend.

Alyssa A.

Yelp
We read so many good reviews for this restaurant, so we had to stop by for breakfast while we were in Tucson. We had expected it to be busy because we saw there was a waitlist option on their website, but we got seated right away which was nice. Such a welcoming, open restaurant to have breakfast! They had a huge pastry cases filled with all kinds of baked goods that you could either order in house or take to go. We didn't get to try one on this trip, but they looked delicious. They do a delicious Bloody Mary with a beer back if you're looking for a breakfast drink. The Steak and Eggs Sandwich was a great start to the morning - fresh eggs, tender steak, greens, and cheese all between some crisp sourdough bread. Yum! I can see why there would be wait times here. It's a great choice for breakfast.

Zali N.

Yelp
This place was great we all enjoyed our meal and the service was great and reasonably priced. Also purchased Harissa and lady grey tea with almond milk (not pictured) both were great.

Mary F.

Yelp
Service charge fee for credit card use! Coffee is $4.50 with 1 half refill. Service and food ok. Walkway into restaurant is damaged with no warning indication. Be careful! Can't recommend. Trendy is the draw for many

Johnny T.

Yelp
Ambiance is perfect for a brunch meeting with family/friends. No issues with service. Biscuits & Gravy with Fried Chicken: 4/5 It costs $3 more to add fried chicken but I highly recommend to do it. The chicken is well seasoned and has a crispy texture which balances the soft, smooth gravy texture and creamy flavors. Steak & Egg Sandwich subbed with French Fries: 3/5 Flavor-wise, the chimichurri marinated beef is ordinary and I can barely appreciate the effects of other ingredients. It was pretty bland. Also, the french fries was terrible as you can see they appear burnt in my posted pictures. I should have kept the crispy potatoes. Monte Cristo Sandwich: 1/5 Avoid this unless you want a plain sandwich with plain ham and swiss cheese. There were either minimal mascarpone or none at all because I didn't taste it. Plus, the cheeses weren't melted well as I could distinctively see and separate the layers apart. Tiramisu Cold Brew: 2.5/5 I enjoyed the sweet cream and the fact they provided a ladyfinger cracker; however, the name is misleading as the overall taste doesn't resemble tiramisu.

Alexander W.

Yelp
Service staff was polite and seemed to be working very hard during a busy Sunday. I appreciate hard working staff. But unfortunately, we waited 35 minutes to sit on a crowded patio next to a busy street, and I didn't see any special Mountain View. It was over priced, but everything is now I know. My wife ordered grilled cheese and soup and I had biscuits and gravy. Both dishes were permeated with rosemary so much the food really had no other flavor to it. The coffee was not good, and even the Bloody Mary was so filled with bizarre herb flavors, it couldn't be finished. Over all bad experience and will avoid this place in the future.

Shel B.

Yelp
Always good. Wish they would mix up the menu a bit. Dick confit a little underwhelming today for some reason, duck was bland as was the tea smoked tomatoes I added to it? Cocktails are always great. Coffee was nice n fresh. First time we ever went to P&P was on Grant my Mercedes and they told us their coffee was a unique sour and it was disgusting haha uh no it was the creamer and whoever made it!

Sarah G.

Yelp
Decent coffee and super fun sweet treats. We liked the doughnut/croissant the best. Not much ambiance so grab you food and go enjoy it in some Tucson wilderness.

Trevor C.

Yelp
Got a chance to visit Prep & Pastry with my mom. Ate outside in the patio which I loved. I enjoy anyplace that offers outside sitting when we have great weather going on. Tried out the Southwest Croissant Sammie. Was delicious, loved the arugula and poblano aioli combo. Make sure to try it out next time you're in. Service was good, went on a Monday morning so was no wait at all.

Lad B.

Yelp
It's just another over flavored/spiced millennial woke fest. If that's what you like, you'll love it.

Noushin D.

Yelp
Came back on the 4th of July 2024. Not sure why people still come here. Rude and disinterested waitress who barely attended our table. I had to ask the lady at the cashier (super nice) to bring us a pastry while waiting for our order. The plate was unwashed. The waitress finally decided to ask if we need more coffee and she poured coffee into the tea mug. When I asked her to give me another mug, you can see how "clean" the mug was. I ordered French Toast and from the 4-5 pieces of blueberries, you can see how "fresh" they appeared.

Patty M.

Yelp
Delicious, fast friendly service, menu has a nice selection of dishes, pasties and coffees

Tiemen S.

Yelp
Disappointing. Not sure why the smoked salmon Benedict has cooked & crumbled salmon on it, so imagine my surprise. Apparently "prep potatoes" are plain, smushed baked potatoes. Seriously? My kid could have cone up with something better. When prep was at their original location it also had atmosphere, instead of this new sterile place they're in now. I guess the silver lining is that the cocktails were quite good, even though their house Bloody Mary no longer comes with the amazing garnish it used to feature.

Swan L.

Yelp
I was famished when I visited Prep and Pastry in Tucson having just completed a grueling half marathon in West Saguaro. This was a popular brunch spot, so the wait was expected. We were quoted a 20-30 min wait time and it ended up being on the max end of the range. Fortunately there were a lot of chairs and seating inside and outside the entrance. I watched wistfully as food orders came out of the kitchen and were brought to tables. Everything looked and smelled so good. The pastry display case was also quite the tease. When we were finally seated we had combed through the menu several times and so put in our orders right away. I ended up selecting the house scramble as I just wanted to shovel food into my mouth easily. Our cinnamon morning bun was brought to us first and it was very good, fluffy and just the right amount of sugar/cinnamon coating. The scramble is a good scramble, lot of toppings and eggs cooked well so they're not runny/watery. I really liked the house potato side that came with it. Service was on it, efficient and friendly, but not like they were trying to rush you out.

Brian K.

Yelp
Had breakfast Monday morning. Restaurant was about half full. I was seated promptly. Ordered coffee and duck confit breakfast. Order came with nice presentation and was very tasty. Now, the not-so good news. Wait staff never came back during the meal; passed by numerous times, but never stopped to ask how things were going. I never even got a refill on coffee. And the coffee was $4.50. Plan coffee, nothing fancy. At that price one refill would have been nice. Also, $17 for the entrée seems a little high. Total with tax and tip $27; for a breakfast.

Becca B.

Yelp
Looking for brunch in Tucson?? Look no further than Prep and Pastry! This restaurant serves some of the best breakfast/brunch entrees in the area with a nice view of the mountains from the patio! I'd highly recommend ordering the French Toast & Fried Chicken entree with blueberry sauce on top. Another popular dish to order is the Monte Cristo served with homemade breakfast potatoes. Prep & Pastry is a popular brunch location in Tucson and for very good reasons...the ingredients were fresh and the food was phenomenal. Highly recommend this spot!

Brad H.

Yelp
Amazing food.... Everything we ordered was excellent! Great house coffee too. Avacado toast was delicious, we added a poached egg for some extra protein. Prep omelette was crazy good, perfect combo of herby and savory flavors. The house potatoes that come with the omelette were crispy and so good. Overall amazing experience, great service and food came out quick! I can see why this place is so popular.

John B.

Yelp
The restaurant was clean. Food was good and reasonably priced. I liked my lunch and many around us had interesting looking dishes. Our waitress was friendly but the service was a bit slow. Still, overall it was a good experience.

Adam H.

Yelp
I would usually say this places is 5 star from the food and drinks to the staff the vibe always great . I'm not gonna lie this was definitely a miss today with the food my steak sandwich was rough to eat the bread was great but the tomato's were cut with a dull knife and cooked till mushy . The steak was thin cut like roast beef and over cooked very chewy hard to bite even. The French toast bread was also great but the sauce was very bitter ,broken and runny the blueberries were also very sad shriveled and soft. Hopefully my next visit is better .

Sandy T.

Yelp
Met friends from work for brunch. It was super busy at lunch time. The wait time was decent. Service was good, ambiance was typical of a busy restaurant. There is a nice view of the mountains on one side of the dining area. The food ordered was flavorful and filling. Will go again!

Russ S.

Yelp
Prompt service, pleasant server, and good food. Convenient location for us, we'll be back!
