This stylish two-level eatery on Waymouth St is perfect for both casual bites and elevated Modern Australian fare, minus the disappointment, of course.

Visiting Adelaide for holiday, my partner and I booked this place randomly. Nice quiet place, atmosphere pleasant and intimate. We chose the set menu they had at the time and got to try things we wouldn't normally go for - the Fregola dish! That was the highlight for me. Phenomenal. Portions were good between us and we left happy.

Google
booked for a Valentine’s Day dinner over a month in advance, arrived and we were told to sit outside. Upon booking it advised the menu selection was not set, however we were then told it was a specific set menu. The entree we were served to share was ridiculously small portioned, and the gnocchi fritti served was laughable for a chef to serve that on a plate. $215 for a very disappointing experience, no value for money. Staff were nice, but long wait times in-between service

As we walked in, the restaurant looked very inviting and had a good atmosphere. However, that was the only positive note of our night. We started off with slow service, which they did apologize for, and there was a wide range of drinks but no sugar-free options unfortunately. We ordered the duck, the steak and some bread. The seasoning was off on all 3 dishes. As it stands, I would not recommend this place due to these reasons, but keeping in mind that any restaurant can have a bad night.

Robbed - A party of 5 dined here for my sons birthday. I can only describe the portions as ridiculous. Two of us ordered the Blue Swimmer Crab Pappardelle for $38 each and it was entree size, with a small amount of crab placed on top. The chef should be ashamed of himself for letting that leave. The burger looked like a slider and was once again foolish. It looked like a kiddies meal. The bread we ordered was a thin and small baguette slice, half the size of my palm. There were two steaks ordered, a bowl of fries and a bowl of potato sides and also another pasta dish that was incredibly small. We all left hungry and went somewhere else to finish off. We had friends ask us about the dinner as they were planning to go and we recommended they dine elsewhere. There are much better places that don't skimp on the food. Try Georges on Waymouth (just up the road) or the Meat and Wine Co. We will never return.

Hands down, the BEST steak I've ever had in my life 🥩🔥—and I know my steaks! Every bite was perfection: tender, juicy, and cooked to absolute mastery. The presentation? Stunning 🤩🍴—every dish looked like a piece of art. We also shared a few starters, and wow, they were next-level! Perfectly cooked, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavour 🤤👌. Wait times were a bit longer than expected ⏳, but I think it was because we asked to share starters (our bad 😅). Totally worth the wait, though—flawless experience overall! 🙌 If you’re in Adelaide, do yourself a favour and check this place out! 💯👏

Service was fantastic. Food was pretty good, though the carpaccio and sashimi were needing a little more crunch texture as they were fairly similar. A couple more dairy free options would be appreciated.

Google
We dined here on Saturday night, and the food was delicious. We particularly enjoyed the wagyu steak and soy pork bun. I deducted a star because there was a long wait between the entree and mains. The atmosphere on the first floor was more appealing than upstairs. We were seated next to an old, rickety room divider, which didn’t quite match the elegant, modern vibe of the cuisine—just a minor detail.

Google
So disappointed. We had a set menu for $89pp. And the quantity of food was shocking. The food was cold when it arrived and we had a single piece of food per person. The steak was one thin slice per person, and the pasta was to share between 3-4 people. The entrees were bite sized and under seasoned. Everything was average and lacked any flavour. The only good thing on the entire set menu was the arancini, which you only got one small ping pong sized ball of. I would not recommend this place. Service was also incredibly slow. We arrived at 7pm and didn't get the slice of steak until 10pm. Bar staff also stated that they couldn't make most of the cocktails on the menu as they didn't have the required ingredients. Very poor dining experience. Don't waste your money here. The pub around the corner has better food quality and portion sizes for a quarter of the price. Everything looked beautiful but it was lacking flavour and quantity. Not worth it for the price or wait time. Never in my life have I shared a single plate of pasta with 4 people or been served a thin slice of steak for a main. We left hungry and disappointed.

Yelp
Local Yelpers steered me to this spot. At the end of a long travel day and site seeing around Adelaide, we decided this would be a great spot for dinner. Small and larger plates are offered. They also have a fabulous beer, wine and cocktail menu. As it was a beautiful evening, we chose to sit outside. Gabe was fantastic, walking us through the drink menu and answering our questions about various dishes. Between us we tried three local beers. The chicken liver parfait, $7 each was devine. Think French pastry choux filled with a light fluffy pâté instead of custard. Mmmm. The 500 gram ribeye for $95 with three sides was more than plenty for one and east to share. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Tender. The crushed potatoes over sour cream, delicious. A nicely dressed salad of fresh greens, light. The broccolini interestingly seasoned. The entire meal was wonderful and incredibly filling. I would absolutely return on my next trip back. Short distance from hotel, so I can comment on parking. Gabe

Yelp
We started with a smoke screen which was excellent. We had the set meal and every course was impeccable. I will be back. Highly recommend. Great atmosphere and service.

Yelp
Press is my go to place when I want a slap up meal, I'm celebrating the weekend, or a special occasion on a weekday :) Basically it's got an awesome menu, food is cooked with love and served with the same love. You can really tell they use high quality ingredients and cuts of meat as everything is right on point - all the flavours and the fragrances. The Pork Belly came with two little taster type sides (types of mash) and some kind of sauce and salad and and and well I haven't got the words for it BUT it was just Spectacular. I can't remember the last time I had Pork Belly so good and with all the little treats that come with it. The service is particularly hospitable and although the seating is very communal I tend to find it doesn't bother me here. I keep coming back here for the icing on the cake - the bomb Alaska - so much fun and so delicious. 5 stars Press food and Wine.

Yelp
Fabulous dinner at Press tonight. The service was fantastic and the chefs feed me menu superb. Nothing was a hassle, the right balance of attentive without being pretentious. Enjoyed every bite, great flavours. Good number of wines by the glass, only downside, bottle of sparkling expensive!! A nice (but exquisite) bottle of SA sparkling was the second cheapest on the menu at $85/ bottle. The next bottle $110 and onwards. (And the reason it didn't receive 5 stars - prob a 4.5 Star). It is the only downside on a really great meal and evening. I would definitely recommend it and go back again Also as an aside - a great support for local charity

Yelp
We got the tasting menu and were quite underwhelmed. Pork was overcooked, dessert was terrible (cream with banana & sticky sauce is not a dessert) Service was great thought. Overall I expected a lot better. I wouldn't recommend.

Yelp
Dear Adelaide, coming from Sydney, people talked a lot of smack about you (that means not so nice stuff) 'Why are you going to Adelaide?' topped the responses to my upcoming travel. Well my dear nay-sayers, Press Food and Wine could have been reason enough. So neener, neener. (that means 'suck it'). Went for a late lunch Valentine's day and not only were the staff unbelievably helpful. (Anyone who makes sure I have plenty of champagne in my glass is a friend of mine), the food was incredible. The specials were innovative and absolutely amazing, and the atmosphere was alive and friendly. So Sydney-siders, if you man-up and make the trip to Adelaide, dont miss this place. (neener, neener).

Yelp
I came to Press on a whim, to join a friend who was here from out of town, after wanting to go and try it since it first opened. We decided to splurge and get the tasting menu - "Let us feed you!" I ordered an Americano off of the 'almost cocktail' list. The tasting menu is $69 and went as follows... First course: An impeccably tasty and perfectly balanced salad that featured baby carrots, pomegranate, orange segments, cabbage and mint. Beef tartare... My first time trying raw beef and it was DELICIOUS! Probably my favourite dish. A fresh salmon dish that had a kind of creme fraiche with beetroot and radish disks. Second course: Pork sliders, the pork was salty and tender and came with a kewpie mayo. Chargrilled squid with a smoked hommus. This was the let down of the meal - just didn't do it for me, a bit boring and I didn't like the flavours. Third course: An absolutely PERFECT crispy pork belly with some kind of either pumpkin or sweet potato puree and olives. And tender, rare, delicious beef sliced and in a rich jus sort of sauce. Oh and the mashed potato. So good. Now, usually this would also be followed by dessert but one of my dining partners started feeling really ill sometime during course # 2 and we asked if they could change our bill a little if we went without dessert. Our waitress was so lovely and easy going about it and only charged us $60. Now, I am withholding 1 star as I feel unable to give 5 when I didn't try the dessert and when I was underwhelmed by one of the dishes (my fellow diners felt the same about the squid). The value for money was actually quite good considering the quantity and quality of the food. We were stuffed! Thanks Press, I think I'll be back for my next special occasion!

Yelp
Press * Food and Wine is well worth it's title of Adelaide Restaurant of the year of 2012. There are two levels of dining, in position and seating layout, but the menu is the same. Upstairs is a more formal setting and you'll need to book to get a table up there. Ground floor dining is a much more relaxed atmosphere, most of the seating is communal on long tables. We sat downstairs. decided to do the Tasting Menu, they are a great idea I think. being able to sample many flavours in the one meal - One from each section of the menu. And man what a good taste everything was perfectly cooked and tasted wonderful. Add to the great food, the comprehensive wine list finishes it all off to be a great place to dine. whether for a special occasion upstairs, or just a good meal out downstairs. I've since been again twice now, once for lunch and had the Burger with onion rings and yes just as good as expected. The 3rd time for another Tasting Menu. All the food again a delightfully delicious dining experience

Yelp
Our tasting menu was absolutely stunning. One of the best and most surprising meals that I have eaten in recent years. Among the dishes were various standouts. The fact that a salad may have taken the overall crown, is testament to the creativity and skill of the chef that put this menu together. The tasting menu had 10 (!) separate dishes in 4 courses and cost $68. An incredible value for money. Some more details on the food below: Course 1. 3 dishes: Pork sliders, Kingfish ceviche, and Beef tartare. In this course the ceviche dish with delicate carrot / pumpkin fritters was a.ma.zing. Definitely top 3 for the night. The beef tartare with a raw egg on top was also super good. Amazing flavors. Course 2. 3 dishes: Sweetbread, Wood grilled squid, and Quinoa salad The sweetbread was my first encounter with this 'gland' meat and couldn't have been happier. The texture was delicious as was the lightly fried crust and the spicy sauce. The quinoa salad with a range of well-matched ingredients and a dressing of pomegranate molasses that was from another planet. Hard to imagine that a salad could be *the* highlight in such a wonderful menu but this was truly amazing. 3 of 4 in our group voted this dish the winner for the night. Course 3. 2 dishes plus 2 sides: Pork belly, Rump steak, Mashed potatoes & Veggies. By this time we were starting to get very full already. The pork belly with cumin paste was very well prepared with fantastic crackling but, as testament to the amazing other dishes, not a stand-out. The rump steak with lightly pickled beet root & cabbage on the other hand, was. Sooo tender, such an fantastic combo of flavors. Unbelievable. Course 4 - 2 dishes: Crême brûlée & Frozen nougat The frozen nougat with cream and raspberry was a final highlight to a dinner full of fireworks. Amazing finale. Six stars for the food if I could give six. Serving was also very good. Place was a bit on the loud end; oh well.

Yelp
I realised how much I truly loved Press* when on my last visit I ventured out the four blocks from my hotel when it was only 4 degrees outside!!! I think most every return visit to Adelaide I make the pilgrimage here at least once :) To start with you can book upstairs in the main restaurant or drop in for the long tables experiences downstairs at the bar; during the week when travelling in business I have always been able to get a seat and there are generally other people who are similar visiting the city. The food has both some interesting small & larger plates; plus some comfort dishes for those travelling (highly recommend the burger); the wine list is worth a good look at as they have a few less common items and a number of organic style wines. The staff have so far all been above expectation their knowledge of the both food & wine menus; their comfort to assist & recommend dishes based on your likes etc. I have been fortunate to have enjoyed each visit here

Yelp
It is a privileged position that I am currently in where I can be taken out to a place like Press for a work lunch and be treated to a proper full, long lunch spread. After being seated by a charming gentleman waiter, we were given ample time to collect ourselves and break the conversation ice before being offered drinks. I'm an easy drinker in that there is almost always something that I can find appealing on a drinks list, and the waiter made it even easier for me. Our conversation: Me: 'Hi. I'm after a lager. Something refreshing. Do you have Boags premium? W: 'No Boags, sorry sir.' Me: 'OK how about something German?' W: 'How about Austrian...we have Trumer pils?' Me: 'Done! 1 x Trumer please!' This light-hearted enjoyable banter continued on throughout the meal, including the waiter making me guess the spice inside the pork belly. It was cumin. I did not get the right answer (he had to tell me - *hangs head in shame*) Oh man, so much to say, already wasted so much space on the first drink!! Entrees were sublime. See photos for a better idea than what I could possibly describe. My favourites were probably the squid, the blood sausage and the beef tartare. Then, for the main event. I had heard about this from other people but wow, it really did not disappoint. Whole suckling pig, slow cooked with cumin and other spices, for about 4 and a half hours total I think the waiter said. The pig was expertly carved up in front of us like a circus show, teasing our tastebuds until all the tasty morsels were plated up. This thing (suckling pig) could easily feed 10 normal human beings. 8 of us fully grown adult men gorged and couldn't make it all the way through. Absolutely top quality cut of meat and superbly cooked. Some sides came out, but all of my focus at the time was on the swine. Absolutely delicious. I think I may have tried one or two of the awesome potatoes. We drank a Balnaves 2010 Shiraz throughout the entrees and mains, and it was smooth as silk. Highly recommend it if you can find it on a wine list. Service continued to be on point through dessert, with the waiter offering us sherrys and ports to perfectly match the dessert, which was a baby bombe Alaska and some other sweet thing (pie, maybe?)...by this point in the meal, I had become slightly catatonic from overconsumption but valiantly pushed on through. An Italian style pallet cleanser (alcoholic beverage similar to underberg) with a shaving of orange peel over ice finished us off and someone paid the bill. It could not have been a more perfect lunch to end a long week. I can't fault any part of my experience at Press. I am really looking forward to going back, even if it means that I open my wallet next time!

Yelp
Everyone's said it, and there's no use denying it, Press aint cheap. But hey, I love spending money. I've had two great meals at Press. The first was after a failed attempt to get enough people together for the suckling Berkshire pork, instead we met up anyway and I had the melt in your mouth pork belly and the very delicious brains (I don't think there's ever a point that will sound right, but gee they taste good). The second time I decided to go all out, so I asked for the tasting menu. Only problem was I was just one person, and usually it's shared by many. Thankfully they worked around my lonesome dining, and I got to enjoy 7 different courses for $60. It was extravagant but worth it. They have a great beer list, but be warned, they can easily run out. My first time I picked three different beers before finally settling on a fourth that was in stock, but as a nice touch the beer was free. They order all their beer through the Wheatsheaf Hotel, and so unfortunately don't have complete control over when they get it. Other drinks, like cocktails, are also good. I tried pink peppercorns for the first time here, and had some amazing oysters. It's all bundled together in a really nice dining room upstairs and more casual wooden bar area downstairs. Sure Press may be a sometimes food, but it's a darn good sometimes.

Yelp
Press* is one of those institutions that guarantee a good feed. Riding through all the trend changes, pop-ups and fads this restaurant does the classics really well and updates their menu to keep with the times. There's actually plenty of seating between the two levels but it's always full so book ahead. Over time I've had the sharing Press* steak with all the trimmings, crab pappardelle, grilled chicken, beef tartare, duck croquettes, Press* burger and a few other sides. Every time every dish has been superb, full of flavour, cooked perfectly and fresh. I have not found anything to fault so far. It isn't cheap so when I splurge that kind of money I want consistency and confidence that my meal will be amazing. Press* fulfills that which is why I recommend it to so many friends both locals and visitors!

Yelp
Very good service and amazing food. Expect to pay a bit more but it's worth it. Recommend booking in a bit early to Seat upstairs. We just rocked up about 7pm and couldn't get in straight away but they took our number and called us when seats were available. Every course was spot on. Wine was ok too. In future we will Buy a bottle. The options by the glass weren't our favorite but someone has to drive!

Yelp
Nice venue, casual dining venue. Fun, noisey, and casual. Hip and happening. Just read that the burgers were recommended, we had steak (excellent) and fish (nice but a bit salty). Not cheap though, dinner for two with nice bottle of wine came to $200!

Yelp
We went here on a Tuesday for a team bonding dinner. The dinner was to be from their tasting menu. So basically a range of four entrees and a few mains to share followed by dessert. I started my dinner off with a dirty Mary which was a bloody Mary with spices. Basically tasted like a bloody Mary with Tabasco. Not for the non spice or pepper lovers. I then had their pink Dominican which contained rum and some pink looking liquor and a cherry. Delicious and easy to drink. For our entrees to share, we had veal croquettes, a salmon covered in mayo dish, some raw beef dish, and pork buns. The veal croquette was my favourite. What you bite into is some mashed up goodness bursting of flavour. Everything else was so so. For our mains we had the pork belly, roast beef and mushroom pie. The mushroom pie was nice with lots of chunky mushrooms but nothing special. We then waited over 30 minutes for our desserts. What arrived were the most disappointing desserts I've ever waited for and regretted waiting for. They call this thing the bombastic which is a stale doughnut or cronut with something gooey inside on top of a bed of strawberry jam and served with ice cream. It tasted cold, stale and we left behind almost all of it even though it was to share between the three of us. The other dessert was the creme brulee, one of my favourite desserts and impossible to ever get a bad one but this restaurant managed to give us one that lacked flavour and tasted like flour. Again we didn't finish this one. The service was extremely slow with us receiving our meals over almost three and a half hours. The food is average and I wouldn't pay an arm and leg for it.

Yelp
Terrible service and not a high standard of food! I went here on a quiet Tuesday night with a friend and wish i went to Melt or Georges instead. The service was terrible, we felt unwelcome and like an inconvenience to the many staff on shift. It seemed like more staff than patrons and yet you still had to wait a while to get their attention. The food was not great either. Starters of pickles and glazed pork was yum but my mains of fish of the day was terrible. The portion of fish was tiny even though you pay $36 for it and the crispy fish skin was leathery and i had small bits of broken clam shells in my dish. Do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere where is worth it, not this place.

Yelp
I enjoyed our lunch date here so much! The food was all amazing and the service was excellent too. It is a gorgeous restaurant and they have a huge wine list to choose from. Complimentary sourdough bread was lovely to nibble on whilst deciding n our mains. We had the BBQ chicken (which was enough for 2 with a few extras), pork croquettes and a bombe alaska for dessert. All were so good! The bombe alaska is even flaming which makes the whole experience a little more spectacular. I have nothing negative to say about Press* - it's fantastic.

Yelp
Had a girls lunch yesterday and what a lovely time. We had a selection of sharing plates which were all amazing and a bottle of wine off an extensive wine list. Everything was lovely. The atmosphere there was great too and exceptional service. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
This was one of my first dining experiences when I moved to Adelaide recently and the it blew me away. Firstly the cocktails are so beautifully prepared (with love and care and beautiful ingredients. Try the Wagarita (lime margarita with a wasabi twist!). These are so good, I've started making this combo at home (quality tequila, cointreau, wasabi powder, agave, sea salt, fresh lime juice - fights away any lurgies!) We went as a big group and the service was spot on, very knowledgeable with regards to the menu, friendly and professional - couldn't fault it. They were very accommodating when two of our friends arrived a little later on whilst we were already onto our mains. Have been back again and again, their service is impeccable. Bottom floor is walk-in only (no reservations). Upstairs you can make reservations but they may have minimums. They're closed over the Christmas and NY period so check opening hours before you head in. Thanks Press for being awesome. x

Yelp
Great experience all round. Food was of a high standard, service attentive without being over the top, and even with the room full on a Friday night it wasn't too noisy. Food was excellent, fresh, and very tasty. Will be returning again for sure.

Yelp
Went with a friend for lunch. The entree was great (some hot salami dish with another side with salted popcorn) ... definitely delicious. I had the duck for main and it was nothing special. Desert was lovely. Overall, a great experience, but I'd forego the main and select more from the entree selection.

Yelp
Impressed with the food. A definite must for anyone that visits this small desolate area called Adelaide... The dimly lit lights set a very intimate atmosphere. My only regret was not being able to order the suckling pig.....

Yelp
Excellent fine dining restaurant with beautiful tasting wine and cocktails. I've been for dinner (twice) and the atmosphere is funky, hip and happening. It is a top restaurant. Everything we ordered was absolutely amazing!! I particularly ordered the 800g rib eye steak and they cooked it so so well!!

Yelp
I was with a group of people (15+) for a Christmas dinner. Despite being a set menu, we were initially excited about trying something new. The hype and the reviews piqued our interest. How wrong we were to have such high expectations! If you didn't buy the drinks package, too bad! There were no other options to buy alcohol or even soft drink, so one had water, which was warm! When I was poured a glass of mediocre champagne when the waitress believed I had the drinks package, I advised her that I didn't, yet she followed me around until I accepted the drink and then was charged $15 for it. The food....not everyone eats sardines, and if you did, there were only four on the plate to be shared between 5-6 people. Black pudding...three small balls for 5-6 people. Really??? The best part about the meal was the mash, and there would have been some leftover if we all weren't so starving! The dessert was an absolute joke - a small square of chocolate brownie, measuring about 4cm x 4cm, and a sliver of citrus tart (citrus still to be determined) to be divided between the same amount of people. A small dollop of cream to also be divided. One end of the table - a group of 5 hungry men - did not even see the dessert as they didn't receive it! The service was questionable....if you purchased the drinks package, you were waited on with high attention to detail. If you didn't, you were looked over as if you were lower class and not worth their time. A group of 15+ people left hungry that night.

Yelp
I could have given Press* an unfavourable review on account of the fish I ordered. While cooked well, with a nice crispy skin, the portion size didn't represent good value and the side salad of bog-standard rocket, raw red onion, parsley, and a nondescript dressing didn't really do it for me. The redeeming feature was tasting my partners steak with mushroom sauce and caramelised onion. Butter like with generous charring, in a rich mushroom sauce - a trophy marriage. Actually, I lie. There were plenty of redeeming features. The atmosphere was nice. And the service - really attentive and super friendly. The wine list - interesting. Pricy, to be sure. But that steak...I'd pay vast amounts to do that. I'll be back to have one to myself next time.

Yelp
We met at Press for a Monday lunch with some Victorian guests; it was not particularly busy but staff were friendly and attentive. Our meals were well presented; all ingredients were fresh and well chosen. Steaks were cooked to order and succulent. Wine list although a little expensive, is extensive with local, interstate and international offerings. Good for a business lunch and judging by the layout and decor - would be a good spot for a drink and dinner/late night supper.

Yelp
Gyuuh! I respect the high life. I do. I've never been a dedicated viewer of 'Boston Legal', but nothing makes me wanna drop the literary dreams and delusions to study law than the balcony, cigar-smoking scenes. But I'm a student. A (mostly) unemployed student too. Not quite because I'm a bum (though that IS the short and simple explanation), but because my work doesn't end with assessment. I HAVE to keep reading and writing. The art form's too competitive to do anything less. Anyway, the perceptive reader ought to see where this is going. I'm about to complain about the prices. I knew it'd be expensive. Normally I'd avoid places like this. Especially seeing as I'm extra broke at the moment, after paying for return tickets to Russia. (Why? For kicks. Why else?) But I had to come here. I was obligated. This is why we oughtn't to keep friends. They do nothing but cause pain! I opened the menu and went straight for a small and cheap dish. Unfortunately, even the small and cheap dishes were expensive. But they WERE very small, at the very least. The burger didn't really do much to fill my belly, but it's okay. I bloated myself with the water so my stomach wouldn't add too much needless interjection to the discussion. The place looks swell, though, to its credit. It was mostly a blur, though. My senses began to fade halfway through the night. A symptom for starvation, I assume. (Or maybe it was something in the water.)

Sky L.

Yelp
A last minute find during my 6hr stop-over enroute to Melbourne... Glad I stopped! The oysters were fresh and sweet, the kingfish entree was delicious, and the sweetbreads were just sensational! Pair that with perfect wine, great service, and sophisticated decor-can't wait to come back!!!

Yelp
We arrived 15min before our booked time and were seated straight away at a lovely table upstairs. We have three different wait team though the night and they were all able to talk extensively to the menu and the wine list. Stand out for me was the tuna starter and the duck confit - all fresh and delish. Wine list as expected as fantastic. Sound track in the back round also ticked the boxes. Thanks * Press Club for a special night.

Yelp
From the moment I took a bite of that pork belly, it was love. But firstly, can we just go down a tangent here? I mean when did pork belly get so fancy? My mum used to cook it all the time when we were kids; it was actually a very simple, cheap dish. All of a sudden I see it everywhere for a million dollars. Anyway. Press is gold. The first time I came here, we booked ahead for five people and got a booth in the corner upstairs. The decor is chic, modern, and upstairs there is a wall of hanging wine glasses that looks really cool but makes you a little nervous thinking they're all going to fall any minute. The bathrooms even have real disposable hand towels! I was a fan. We ordered nine dishes (3 entrees, 3 mains, 3 desserts) plus a cocktail each and forked out $300 in total between five people. This place ain't cheap! Let me tell you - the crab pasta was delish, the pork belly was so tender it was falling off in pieces without me even having to cut it, the lamb was tender, and the croquettes are amazing! Cocktail? Go Hemingway. It packs a citrusy hit and washes everything down perfectly.

Yelp
Three words: baby suckling pigs. These bad boys are perfectly roasted and served whole on the table with all the trimmings. Absolutely delicious. Recommended.

Yelp
Loved this place! Good food and amazing ambiance. Come in small groups and you will definitely have a great night! MUST TRY : angus eye fillet and press* burger! Desserts (bombe alaska and crème brûlée) were decent but nothing special.

Yelp
There isn't anything that I didn't like about this place besides my choice of wine ! The menu is as good as it sounds. We definitely over ordered and tried to finish everything ! It was pricey for two people but if you're a food lover than you can't miss this place !

Yelp
Our group of 5 couldn't book a table, but were advised over the phone we could walk in at 6:30pm and get a table downstairs, which we did. The staff were super friendly and really accommodating, the food was amazing! It was a Saturday evening so it was quite busy and loud. Highly recommend Press, we will be back.

Yelp
Went for lunch mid week and was disappointed as I had heard great reviews. Service was ok however ok is not good enough based on the prices and so called reputation it supposedly has. Food was tasty however the fish of the day failed to have all the ingredients that I was told would be on the fish. Serving size was quite small and an average man would leave hungry and probably need to eat again. Good wine list and atmosphere was good. However really unsure as to why all the hype. Thankfully my guest paid for our meals as I may have whinged a little more if I knew what the total of the bill was.

Yelp
Great service and awesome menu choice. I especially liked that they served offal. Many many choices for a variety of diners and a wine list you could spend hours reading. Most options were GF which is fantastic. This place takes a lot of pride in serving quality food and it shows

Yelp
The menu has a lot of variety and is great for sharing. The waiter was so helpful in helping us adapt the meal to 6 girls with different tastes by accommodating with 6 serves of this or splitting dishes into two, etc. And the food was DELICIOUS! Would highly recommend the pork sliders.

Yelp
We had some of the tasting and raw plates. Love the freshness and variety of textures. The chargrilled squid, beef carpaccio, peach dish and the quail were all delightful. The wine list is also impressive however, would have liked to see a more local variety on offer. Service was great - non intrusive yet attentative. Definitely a must do.

Yelp
I read the review John Lethlean wrote in the Australian about Press* and thought it sounded really good and it's taken a while to see for myself what all the fuss was about. John, you said it all, this place is the real deal! We dropped in last night on a whim thinking we would find a spot downstairs (no reservations), only to be led up that lovely old staircase to the reserved area ( told they had a cancellation). So, rather than sampling a few dishes and a couple of glasses of red, we decided to do the whole tasting menu thing. At $68 pp not inexpensive but is it value for money - hell yeah! After many small serves from the raw, smaller, wood grilled, etc. including beautiful raw scallop slices, roasted beetroot, frisée and goats cheese salad, roasted pork bun (yes!!!!), mussels, snapper, steak we thought we would burst. Then, they brought out the most sublime fresh raspberry semifreddo topped with praline and three perfect raspberries and served on a coulis which was suitable sweetened but not cloyingly sweet. Even thought Doc said he was full to the brim we couldn't possibly ignore that magnificent desert could we? Wow, so good. The reason they don't get 5 stars? No, the service is great, the wine list is impeccable, the bread is to die for, the surroundings suitably sparse but expensive (think wall of wine glasses), all good. The steak which tasted fantastic just had some gristle which just took away that 5th star. Lesson here, trim the meat first. Yes it's expensive, especially if you choose one of the lovely old vintages on offer on the magnificent wine list. Rest assured Adelaide, this would cost a lot more in Melbourne or Sydney. Love it!!

Yelp
Press loses points because they only do the suckling pig for groups of ten and though I have badgered my friends I can't get enough takers. This would never happen in Segovia. That said the rest of the food I have eaten there is some of the best in Adelaide. Everything is fresh, beautifully prepared and great for sharing. It's also a gorgeous venue, has a great wine list and is therefore a place I'll return to again and again.

Yelp
Great place! Food is delicious and service is friendly and fast. Love the set up... fabulous kitchen! The portions aren't huge and a bit pricey... but great for sharing, interesting and tasty. That's the whole idea of the place. I'll definitely go back...

Yelp
Tasty, flavoursome food. Meals come out quickly. Service is effective without being fussy, with no-one bothering you with inane questions like "How are you enjoying everything tonight sir?". Communal benches are the table format. The bombe alaska tastes fudgy with a lingering alcoholic flavour from the unburnt portion of the flambeaued white rum - fine if you like that kind of thing but I found it too rich. Try the Pressed Pedro if you like Old Fashioneds.

Yelp
Had a family dinner at Press, table of 15, including a vegetarian, a vegan, and a pregnant woman who's pretty strict on those rules. Had to have one of the tasting menus because of the size of our group. Fabulous food - everyone happy with the amazingly tasty dishes; the vegan was particularly happy with the variety of dishes she ate. Great service, lovely venue, good wine list too. Press made it a very special night.

Yelp
Top notch. Lovely food, good wine and whilst costly, not stupidly so. We got what we paid for and more. A lovely relaxed atmosphere with very attentive waiting staff.

Yelp
I was lucky enough to eat here last night for my brother's 50th birthday celebration dinner. Super stylish in an industrial minimalist way we were seated upstairs as you can't book tables downstairs,it was a Saturday night and we arrived just before 7.30pm and the place was almost full. Attentive without being in your face service was great and we decided to all pick some dishes and then share everything to get a taste of many dishes rather than be tied into one dish each. Entrees were a selection of chargrilled squid, pork buns/sliders,baby carrot and feta salad and veal croquettes. Main courses we chose were pappardelle with blue swimmer crab, steak frites, porterhouse with chimmichurri sauce and pork belly. Lastly the desserts oh my,delightful, rhubarb, frangipan tart, nougat and honeycomb creation and a silky and divine creme brulee. Wow what a revelation this place was I will definitely go back.

Yelp
Oh god - I think I have died and gone to burger heaven! Press Food & Wine is a funky venue featuring a delectable menu of top notch food and what do I find myself ordering? The burger of course! Having come here on good authority that this was one of the best burgers in Adelaide, I certainly wasn't disappointed! Served with onion rings, the delicious burger on a soft and sweet bun smelled like a hungry jacks whopper but tasted about a million and one times better! With a tasty char-grilled pattie, thick slices of pickles, delectable sauce and the right amount of cheese, this could possibly be the best burger in Adelaide, or even Australia! My very picky partner gives it a 4.8 out of five - which I'd round up to a five - this burger was awesome in every sense of the word - try it - words will never do this little beauty justice! Press has an extensive drinks menu and I chose a Hendricks gin and tonic upon the recommendation of our brilliant and friendly waitress - good choices all round I'd say! I couldn't fault my experience here - but be aware that you aren't able to make a booking for the first floor, so timing is everything. There might be an art to it but there might not - maybe just put some good vibes out into the world? Hey if that's what it takes to get yourself here, do it. Do what ever it take, really, you won't regret it!

Yelp
Press burger is amazing! So tasty! Although I dislike onion rings and asked if they could be replaced with the shoestring fries and the waiter said they're not allowed to so I had to purchase the fries as extra. I didn't like this but I'm sure its a common thing at these restaurants. Overall great food, service and ambience, definitely recommend.

Yelp
Possibly the worst service from a restaurant, at least that I can remember. The waiter staff clearly think that their dead-end job somehow makes them important in this world. I don't think that the customer is right at 'Press Food and Wine'. If they think that poor service is acceptable, hopefully this forum, as well as word of mouth, make them change their tune. If it wasn't for reasonably nice food, they would be well and truly out of business. What a joke.
