pressburg bajgel

Don't be misled by the photos shown here. It is from a different location. I am reviewing the very small shop on Klemensova street. I come here every time I visit Bratislava. It is run by a sweet older woman, who smiles proudly when I say how much I love these pastries, the Pressburg Bajgels. This location is very small, it is a take away shop, but the pastries are amazing. Today I bought one of each type.

I don't know if they are undergoing renovations, and are working on half-effort, but when I entered the place didn't resemble the pictures at all. The food was nothing to write home about, but not bad in itself -- although quite evidently not freshly out of the oven. Also, it's at the priciest endpoint, for what I've seen in Bratislava. Payment was only cash, and I wasn't given a receipt (which, in my book, is -1 star).

Walking around in The old town we met with Pressburg bajgel. Of course we have tasted poppyseed and walnuts bajgels...yes. the original and traditional recipe. Superb! Taste it!!

We tried the poppyseed bagel as well as the walnut bagel. I accompanied mine with and iced cappuccino. I enjoyed the flavor of the walnut. The poppyseed filling would be an acquired taste.

Lovely traditional bakery with freshly made authentic pastries. Both poppy and nut pastries smell and taste amazing! It’s a must-try hidden gem that you have to visit when you’re nearby!

Ideal stop for delicious bagels if you're in the area of the blue church, even worth a short walk from the city center!
