Pretoria Art Museum

It was really fruitful we went to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the united national, cleaned outside the museum and planted trees, networking between students and other organizations really was nice ♥️

This is a very nice afternoon out for those who appreciate art and for those with children to initiate them into the various art mediums. The pieces are interesting and the information cards are informative. Its a pity that tge grounds are not well maintained otherwise it would be a lovely place to relax outside the museum.

Wow. I loved it. The art is fabulous. I especially enjoyed the pottery and sculptures. It's well run and beautifully laid out. There is a collection of old international artists, as well as many local artists. Do yourself a favour and visit here. I could have spent all day. The only downside is they only accept cash, so come prepared.

The permanent collection is so beautiful. There is a good mixed-media exhibition by Thomas and Neo in the furthest part of the building and there is some truly exciting works in the Sasol Signatures exhibition. On a different note, City of Tshwane should attend to the grounds and the building, it cannot look like it currently looks

A tidy, manageable collection that you can actually take in. The mix of South African modern and contemporary work is well presented, and the staff helped us map a sensible route in under two minutes. Good lighting, clear labels, and enough benches to pause. We spent around 90 minutes and didn’t feel rushed. Pair it with a walk in the nearby park or a café stop. If you like art but hate sprawling museums, this is a good fit.

An awesome space, definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. Adult Entry Fee : R25 - Worth the experience! Friendly and helpful staff. I would’ve personally liked more of the artworks to have a written explanation about the pieces or about the artist. I learned a lot about South African artists and look forward to visiting the museum again!

The place needs maintenance services from the outside, honestly! 🙄 There's a small fee to pay (discounted when you bring your student card). 🙃 The museum does have variety of themes they cover but only 4 are the biggest. Out of the 4 themes only one stood out for me personally. Some of the displayed art is rather disappointing but it is still worth checking out. I'm just sharing so one wouldn't be disappointed due to high expectations. There are sculptures and ceramics too. Oh what I really found to be cool was/ still is the art equipment/ stationery etc. With that one can refine their art using different tools or whatever....

It was really clean and well air conditioned. I came in the summer and it gets super hot in Pretoria so the refreshing cool air that hits you when you step in just gives you life!
