Pretoria Art Museum

Wow. I loved it. The art is fabulous. I especially enjoyed the pottery and sculptures. It's well run and beautifully laid out. There is a collection of old international artists, as well as many local artists. Do yourself a favour and visit here. I could have spent all day. The only downside is they only accept cash, so come prepared.

CASH ONLY. Beautiful spot with plenty of parking out front and many unique modern art pieces by local artist which is my favorite exhibition.

An awesome space, definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area. Adult Entry Fee : R25 - Worth the experience! Friendly and helpful staff. I would’ve personally liked more of the artworks to have a written explanation about the pieces or about the artist. I learned a lot about South African artists and look forward to visiting the museum again!

The place needs maintenance services from the outside, honestly! 🙄 There's a small fee to pay (discounted when you bring your student card). 🙃 The museum does have variety of themes they cover but only 4 are the biggest. Out of the 4 themes only one stood out for me personally. Some of the displayed art is rather disappointing but it is still worth checking out. I'm just sharing so one wouldn't be disappointed due to high expectations. There are sculptures and ceramics too. Oh what I really found to be cool was/ still is the art equipment/ stationery etc. With that one can refine their art using different tools or whatever....

this place is a must see and visit, from the outside it doesn't look like much but thats the charm...because as soon as you step inside well its a must see especially when there is an exhibition...do yourself a favour and go check ot out, you will not regret it..

It was really clean and well air conditioned. I came in the summer and it gets super hot in Pretoria so the refreshing cool air that hits you when you step in just gives you life! The art on display was very impressive. The reception staff and security were friendly and courteous. Unfortunately the museum building and walkways to the museum have been allowed to fall into disrepair, which was very disappointing. There were even leaks in the roof. Are the priceless artworks being properly looked after?

Really enjoyed the exhibition, Amazing artistic pieces on display at this museum. The staff were accommodating. For the small fee of R 25, you are taken on an artistic adventure. Unfortunately no cameras allowed in the gallery but definitely worth it if you are a lover of art
