Pretoriuskop Rest Camp in the Kruger Park has its charm but also some clear challenges. The units are lovely and were spotless, though they could use a modern update. The camp itself feels neglected and not as well-maintained as it once was, which is a bit disappointing.
That said, the shop is excellent and has everything you might need, and the swimming pool is probably one of the best in the park—though the area around it could use some TLC. The staff are friendly and clearly doing their best with the resources available, which is commendable.
The biggest letdown, unfortunately, is the Wimpy. It hasn’t seen a makeover in years, and everything about it feels a bit "meh." The service is slow, likely due to being understaffed, much like the rest of the camp. The owner of the Wimpy really needs to step up to bring it back to standard.
Despite these issues, we still enjoyed our stay. Pretoriuskop has potential, but it needs some investment to bring it back to its former glory.
