"Good Food, Relaxed Atmosphere With a menu based on fresh ingredients, a great staff, and a very family-friendly attitude (and even a hip edge), Preysinggarten is a place to unwind, and bring the kids! A beautiful interior, and even an outdoor play area ( spielplatz ) for children—it's a very cool place in a hip neighborhood."

One of the few places open for Christmas Eve dinner on our family trip to Munich. So glad we encountered this restaurant and were able to make a reservation. From the moment we walked in, to the time we left, we experienced a warm welcome and exceptional service and hospitality. And of course, the food was delicious. Don’t think we could have picked a better, festive and homey place. Sincere thanks to the entire staff for hosting us during the holiday season and for their warmth.

Great food and lovely atmosphere sitting outside in the sun. The waiter we had however was not very friendly and came off a bit rude. As you can see from the photos though, the food was excellent and I was ready to lick the plate clean.

Beautiful restaurant with a familiar feel to it. The service is extremely kind and warm, you feel like you’re invited into someone’s home. The owners are Greek and put a lot of thought and love into their food and business. Highly recommend!

Very friendly service. Waiters know mostly things on a menu and they are very friendly, service 5+. Food is ok, it is good, slightly dry, nothing special, could be better, so 4 stars. Atmosphere was too noisy 4 stars. Overall, it is a good place to visit. But there are much better and high-quality places.

Everything was fresh and delicious. We were seated on the sidewalk which was charming. The service was nice and accommodating for our lack of language. Overall a great experience. Thank you for a great meal.

Google
Joie de vivre and yummy approved. I haven't been back to this place in the past 3 years and it used to be one of my favorite places in town. I am glad to see the same quality with a twist on the Mediterranean dishes they offer. Plus a very friendly and attentive service. I really like the music swing retro in the background. No hipsters alert. We came for a late lunch at 2:45pm and were happy that their kitchen was still open for warm food. Very good price offered for this dish we ordered from their menu for lunch on that day (11 € something): Spanish casserole with fish perfectly cooked in a tomatoe sauce with delightful spices, fried aubergines, potatoes bravas, some shrimps and mussels with aioli sauce, so nothing was smashed. Also the toilets are clean and charming. The place is located in a quiet street and time seems to be suspended here in a good way. They also have a small Biergarten to sit outside but as it was too chill to sit outside. I will come back.

Went there on Friday, 15th April around almost 5.30 pm after reading great reviews. Ordered bruschetta as a starter, a salad, grilled salmon with veggies, and some beverages. The bruschetta came almost right away, but the bread was so soggy. Then we had to wait for around 40 minutes to get the rest. The servers did not care to notice us waiting, bored, and annoyed. We tried to get their attention and were eventually served the rest of the food. The salad was just ok, and the salmon needed serious improvement. Clearly, we were extremely disappointed. I don't want to play the race card, but it might be worth mentioning that we were Asians. We were travelers, so maybe that's why we didn't get much of a good service we deserved. Also, the English menu obviously carries way fewer items than the original menu. Overall, a bad experience.

Google
I wanted to create a new review but it seems not possible. This was my older review: “Simple but well prepared food with fresh products. Nice atmosphere.” > some months later: pasta with salmon > overcooked, greasy sauce, smelly fish; my friend took a pizza ai funghi > very standard, not even tasty. None of us finished our dishes.

Yelp
I've only been to this place twice. Both times I had great experiences. My fiancee's coworker (apparently) lives above this biergarten/eating establishment, and always seems to snag a reservation for soccer (futbol) matches. The service (even when during matches) is better than a lot of other restaurants during a normal night. The waitresses (and waiters) are always friendly and on top of the drinks (i.e. if you're low, they'll see it and ask if you want another). The last time I was there I ate some food, and it was REALLY tasty! My fiancee and I shared a tagliatelle with salmon in lobster cream sauce, and a salad with warm goat cheese and walnuts. I believe the pasta was fresh, and the other ingredients in the pasta tasted fresh as well! The salad left something to be desired... I think maybe a bit more seasoning in their dressing - but nonetheless, it was good. All in all I highly recommend this place!

Yelp
I found this place while looking for vegetarian eateries in the neighbourhood, and it reminded me of an old pioneer schoolroom. A homey, comfortable, if a bit drafty, spacious space. The waitress that served us was also very kind. And for the neighbourhood it's in, it's very cheap. Given that just a street over, there is an Italian restaurant charging double for literally the same food. So, I can recommend this restaurant. Apparently, they are known for their Bavarian dishes. But I can't vouch for that, as I said, we are vegetarians, and therefore there is not much for us to sample there, in the way of that cuisine.

Yelp
Really cute place with a huge menu and some vegan options but more vegetarian. My pasta was outstanding. Service was friendly. Feels very neighborhoodly.

Yelp
First, I was struck by this restaurant's romantic ambiance. The service was amazing. Very friendly staff. Even better food!

Yelp
We're visiting Munich from the States and were drawn in by the Kinder/kids menu and overall menu. Top note, the food was absolutely delicious! We had homemade tagliatelle pasta with salmon, and red Thai curry which is vegan and the kitchen was accommodating enough to add a little grilled chicken to the dish with an ask. Our daughter had the salami pizza which she loved. Because we're in a hotel and it's so hard to get fresh veggies on her plate while we travel, I asked for a small cup of veggie sticks and they brought out a sweet plate of peppers, cucumber, carrot and tomatoes. All in all, staff and servers were perfect and kind, service was quick, food was great. Loved it all. Side note, it was pouring rain and they still had great service going in the outside garden which is where we sat, with many others. A very fun visit.

Yelp
You are way off the grid from tourist land at this absolute side-street gem of a restaurant. It offers patio and indoor seating in a historic looking and feeling location among the crazy quilt of streets I walked from the Hilton City Center hotel to get here. The vibe is hipster with a reggae soundtrack playing that only relaxes you. But it isn't fake hipster. The food is excellent. I ate a pasta carbona with ham and mushrooms. Hot as if it was pulled from 1000-degree oven. No problem being English-speaking here. Windows in dining room open for cooling breeze at night. You will feel like you discovered the place. Go here, order whatever you want. It will be very good. Cash only on my visit which reflects a lot of Germany.

Yelp
Wonderful atmosphere and lovingly made food, this is my absolute favourite Haidhausen restaurant and café. Whether you go there to grab a cappuccino and croissant to take away in the morning, pop in for a work lunch, an evening beer with friends, or a Sunday brunch celebration, this place miraculously manages to be appropriate for all these settings. There is a daily menu and an excellent a la carte choice of dishes. Pastas and pizzas are great, as are the salads. For a more special occasion, their fish and meat selection is superb. The indoor area has intimate lighting and cozy feel in the evenings, followed by a smaller section ideal for a group. My favourite part is the outdoor patio, all wooden and separated from the street, perfect for good weather! The staff is amongst the most attentive and friendly I have met in the neighbourhood, and really go out of their way to adapt your dish to you needs. Debit cards accepted. Attention: can get very busy at weekends and holidays. Best to book ahead especially if you are a group!

Yelp
We moved into the neighborhood a few months ago and were excited to try this place since it seemed popular. I have to say we were disappointed. We were greeted with a frown as though we were a huge burden to seat. The waitresses seemed unhappy and stressed out. The decor inside was cute but the acoustics were awful. The food took forever to arrive and was just okay: average, not particularly well executed German café fare. There was a full bar and a big board listing their cocktails, so I decided to try one to redeem things. That turned out to be a mistake. The first cocktail I got was disgustingly sweet. It was just not balanced at all. I had to confess politely to the waitress that I didn't like it, and ordered another. I made it clear that I would pay ("I ordered the wrong thing"). Then I ordered a negroni. It came completely unmixed. Moreover, it was DISGUSTING. The bartender forgot to put in vermouth and just splashed some of the cheapest possible gin into a cup with a shot of Campari and didn't even mix it. It was insulting. My friends couldn't even believe how bad it was. Worse, it was expensive. When we paid the waitress saw the two untouched cocktails on the table and didn't say a word. There are lots of better places to eat and drink in Haidhausen. This was an unpleasant experience and I'm not going here again.

Yelp
Very good Food, Wine & Beer selection. We sat outside under the umbrellas on a warm day for evening dinner with friends. The patio is quite cute, not a large beer hard style. Small & Quaint. Reservations are a must. It's busy and tight outside so only go if you don't mind being close to other tables.

Yelp
Very nice food and atmosphere. Wine selection is ok. I would say that parking can be a challenge.

Yelp
I have been here once with colleagues and as it was a nice day we were happy to be seated in the garden. The area is highly residential and the guests seemed to be a mix of locals and people like us from a bit further away. There were no surprises in the beer selection and quality. The food was fairly interesting with several interesting options. After we shared a variety of starters, I settled for one of the fish dishes and was happy with it. This is a nice place in a charming, quiet neighborhood; I wasn't quite convinced of giving four stars but this is a high three.

Yelp
Nice place for breakfast in one of Munich's most picturesque corners. The outdoor terrace is lovely but really really crowded on a sunny Sunday morning. We opted for the interior which is very bright, with high ceilings and tasteful yet simple décor. Baby/pram friendly.

Lina C.

Yelp
Very busy on weekend nights. Reservation recommended. Food is great. Love the interior. Service depends on the time of arrival.

Yelp
What could have been a nightmare turned out to be a great and rare experience in Munich. We had booked a table for 6 with our strollers for 2 children. There was a misunderstanding somewhere along the way as the place is not really set up for strollers especially for brunch on Sunday when it is packed! The host took one look at us and with genuine smiles an hospitality bent over backwards to accommodate us. Usually you will impolitely be shown the door in Munich in situations like this but the service great with all people who were seeing to us. Also the food was excellent value. highly recommended!

Yelp
Just had dinner at the Preysinggarten. The stuff has been very friendly, even though it was rather busy. The atmosphere is like in a family restaurant, nice and cozy. We were a party of three and had three different dishes -and not a single failure. The food was simply amazing, the prices are moderate and definitely fair. Yummy!
