In its former life, many fights were lost and won within these walls. Now, however, it is more a cross-training gym with boxing as one of its offerings. Amazing gym! I trained BJJ here for about a year. The team and coaches are incredible and very high level. Everyone is also super nice and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The facilities are great and very well looked after. Clean showers and changing rooms, high quality weight section, plenty of mat space. I cannot recommend PFA enough.

I spent three weeks in Cape Town and wanted to keep up my boxing training while I was there. After reaching out in advance, the communication was smooth and welcoming from the start. From day one, I was introduced to Yousuf, who became my daily coach for the entire three weeks. He’s an outstanding trainer who really knows how to push you just the right amount. What stood out most was his ability to spot even the smallest mistakes and explain corrections in a way that just clicks. I left each session feeling like I’d actually improved, not just worked hard. The gym itself was always clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall vibe was super inviting. Whether you’re a beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, I can’t recommend Yousuf and this gym enough. If I’m ever back in Cape Town, I’ll be training here again for sure!

I started doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at PFA in November 2021 after looking for something new and different to the training that I’d been doing before. I get bored easily so was looking for something where I could stay fit and retain my strength while learning a new skill. I’ve found the BJJ classes incredibly addictive and more intense than anything I’ve tried before. It’s also a sport that has been around for a long time but is still evolving. The trainers are all amazing, diverse and each have a different approach which gives you a really well rounded understanding of the sport. More than equipment, training and the things you’d expect from a gym these days, you’ll find a family type atmosphere and a community that’s as awesome to be around as BJJ is addictive.

Absolutely fantastic. Everyone is super welcoming, friendly and supportive. Walking into a combat gym may be intimidating for some but the staff and patrons are all kind, warm and fun. Incredible coaches who have a lot of experience teaching and competing. I'm not from SA but have found a community at PFA and I have nothing but love for everyone here. 100% recommend

Incredible gym with passionate coaches and ultra friendly atmosphere. Equipment is kept clean and in great condition. The owners and trainers are super friendly, professional and proactive with communication on the whatsapp group. Fees are also really affordable and give you access to train and learn from the best, across a variety of classes. The gym frequently organises opportunities to progress and compete at various levels, if you want to. PFA honestly changed the way that I train and enjoy training. I now do Muay Thai, Boxing and Jiu Jitsu and enjoy every single class I take.
