"The Oldest Coffeehouse in Reykjavík Rekjavík’s oldest coffee shop, Prikid’s brightly-painted exterior makes it look like it could be an ostentatious Bavarian beer garden. However, the popular pub is perfectly grungy and divey—and surprisingly diverse—on the inside. A popular venue for local music, you’ll see customers from all walks of life: stoic retirees drinking coffee in the morning, families with toddlers in the early afternoon, 30-something couples on a date in the early evening, and the city’s norm-core and punkish teenagers who come out late at night when the DJs start spinning. Best of all, in a city where alcohol can be staggeringly expensive, the cheap beers at Prikid, are a welcome relief."

I visited 3 times; that kind of says it all. This place is great for a hearty breakfast/brunch to start the day. The portions are great, the costs very fair and a really lovely atmosphere. The filter coffee is free refills too. Friendly, happy staff and a great central location.

This spot has incredible local flavor - the people are great, both the staff and the locals who come by. We even had a cute little dog from a local jump up onto a chair to join us for lunch. Food was good - very classic and simple, but solidly good and I’d go back in a heartbeat!

Cozy place with amazing food. I had to wait a bit longer than expected for breakfast, but it was absolutely worth it. I also really enjoyed the music and the funny cartoon playing on the TV 💕

On a cool and wet Wednesday morning, my wife and I stumbled in here looking for coffee, and we weren't disappointed. They have a good coffee menu, but my hint is to take the house coffee at Kr400. It's in a flask at the end of the bar, together with cups and cream, and it's free refills. Superb value and an excellent drinking coffee. By all means, pay more for your cappuccinos and the like, but if it's coffee you like, you will not be disappointed in their house brew. Staff were friendly and the cafe had locals and tourists in - a good sign as locals stay away from tourist traps. This cafe proudly states on the outside that it's been here since 1951, and it isn't difficult to feel that sense of longevity inside, as few concessions have been made to modernity. But it's brill, cosy and welcoming - what more would you want?

We came here for happy hour which starts at 4pm. Couldn’t believe that a beer was only 800kr (£5/$6.6) - cheapest we had on our trip to Reykjavik. The vibes in here were perfect, could spend hours here! Lovely friendly service too :)

We had the open-faced steak sandwich (the Big Daddy Kane) and the open-faced chicken sandwich (the Larry Bird) and they were both delicious. Really cozy atmosphere here and we were happy to just hang out and eat our meal. I would definitely come back.

Arguably the best meal that we had on the entire island during our 7-day stay. The fish & chips are tasty, the sweet potato fries are unbelievable, and their largest burger is well worth the added cost because it is amazingly delicious! Fun pub atmosphere. We are upstairs for lunch while exploring downtown. We're definitely happy we discovered this place.
