Prime Pub Somers

I really wish that the star ratings allowed for half a star 🌟 increments. In this case I would add .5 to each of the above. My party of three went to Prime Pub upon the recommendation of local businessman. It's kinda tricky to get to because it sits alone behind a strip mall. The outside was nice but somehow there was no wow factor. The same could be said for the inside ambiance. You can tell that there was thought put into the esthetics but I all seemed to lack pop of any kind. We arrived for lunch and decided to get 4 appetizers to share. We ordered wings, spring rolls, bang bang shrimp 🍤, and calamari. Yeah, I know, that's a lot of fried oil going into the old ticker but it is what it is. Additionally, the entre selection I found to be quite pricey at $40-50 each depending upon what you ordered. The good, the portions were large enough that all 3 of us were full after the meal. I really enjoyed the fried shrimp and the spring roll. The chicken wings were ample size but kinda flavorless and perhaps a little under cooked. In their defense, the wings were offered with your choice of dipping sauce. Personally, I think that the naked wing should be delicious and any sauces should further enhance the flavor. Maybe I dost protest too much. The calamari however was DEFINITELY over done a rubbery. The problem as we all agreed was that the rings were very thin, kinda the width of average rubber bands. They were heavily battered and fried hard. The peppers and a few of the wider slices of the calamari were the only things eatable on that plate. Interestingly, when the waiter came around for the obligatory, how is everything, I brought the over cooked calamari to his attention. There was no offer to switch the appetizer or adjust the bill. That's not good in my humble opinion. We all ate for a little over $100 including the gratuity. Upon leaving there were some tasty mints in a false bicycle to your right. You know, the puffy ones that are individually wrapped and melt in your mouth. Maybe the emphasis is on the Pub part of the title for late night activities. I don't think that this Prime is ready for Prime Time yet. I probably will not return.

We have been to Prime several time. And every single time, we have an amazing experience! The food is delicious and the staff is wonderful. We had the pleasure of being waited on by Sarah who was very attentive and always made sure we had enough drinks. We have enjoyed many different dishes, but some of our favorites have been the Philly Spring Rolls, Smoked Pork Belly, Grilled Filet Mignon, Braised Beef Short Rib, Pulled Pork Tater Tots, Spinach and Artichoke Dip and the 25/75 Grass-Fed Burger. Some of our favorite desserts are the Fried Oreos, the Warm Apple Cobbler and the Mango Sorbet. We love it here and will continue to visit this restaurant!

We always have a great meal at Prime Pub! I enjoy the salmon sandwich and there is always a nice beer menu. Nice atmosphere and service. Definitely a great local spot in Somers - definitely recommend and we will be back!

Food was great , beautiful atmosphere . But what’s most important is feeling welcomed when you walk in a restaurant . That was not the case, very unfriendly and un accommodating hostess . Waitress was also not friendly . But got a little better. For the price we paid , just feel like they should be a little bit nicer. We were told if we didn’t finish a bottle of wine we can take it to go. bought multiple bottles of wine and when we left the table to go to the bathroom they claimed they already dumped our wine out so we couldn’t take it to go .

This place opened about two years ago and we finally got a chance to try it. Beautiful and sophisticated interior design. I appreciate the thoughtful choices of the materials that soak up the noises. They have good variety of the food. We ordered a kimchi burger with house-smoked pork belly, and a Korean fried chicken sandwich. Both were delish but I particularly liked the burger and the chili (dry) fries that came with it. Will come again to try other things on the menu.

Service and atmosphere was very pleasant. Cocktails were tasty. All the food was delicious. Everyone in our party liked everything they ordered. We will return. Highly recommend

Love my table. I have a view of the fireplace or a view of the lake! Beautiful! Food was good. I ordered Turkey Empanadas with Cranberry purée and Shrimp Tacos with Parm Truffle Fries. I would def come here again!

This is the place you want to go when it's time to pat yourself on the back. Whether seafood or steak, desserts or cocktails (or local beers/hard ciders) they have you covered. I came here after a work-related trip to the area, hungry and a little jet lagged. But the soft lighting and friendly team put me in a comfortable space immediately and the beautiful dishes passing by had my appetite revved up. If I ever return to the area, I will be sure to return here. Pro Foodie Tip: Bring a ring light. You'll need it to get quality shots.

Came here for an early Valentines Day Dinner. Our server was incredible and gave good recs. The restaurant itself is large and spaced out enough that it didn't get too loud. We split three appetizers. The best in show was the smoked pork belly it was incredible. I split a steak sandwich with my mom but unfortunately the steak was chewy and tough to eat. Would certainly come back but only for appetizers and drinks.

Food was delicious, service was superb, we're here at least once a week--feels like home. Doreen, the manager, is a doll!

We go at least once a week, and thoroughly enjoy the place, the food, and most of all the service. The ambiance is lovely, we really like sitting by the windows with a great view of the lake so we can spot the turtles as they move around.

Nice place but very Poor service, had to ask for things twice, NY strip ordered med rare and was med well, food was dropped and servers ran off never to be seen again until it was time to pay the check. Had high hopes walking in, but left very disappointed.

Super simple review here! Lovely ambiance, just really nice! Despite going in a little late on Saturday night, got a table by the fireplace and didn't have to wait despite the fact it was busy. Absolutely ZERO dress code was extremely disappointing! The menu is more like an expensive diner, there really is something for everyone. I had some kind of steak bowl which had either poorly made risotto or white rice -- I'm still not sure! Either way, the dish was just okay as the aforementioned base wasn't 'right' and cold to-boot! The menu was definitely a bit pricey. I paid $11 for a very poorly poured glass of house red wine, but thoroughly enjoyed the fried banana cheesecake w/ vanilla ice cream for dessert. Would I go back... maybe, perhaps. NOT rushing though!

Food was very good. I ordered the California chicken wrap and it was really tasty. The flavors complained each other nicely. My sister had the organic half roasted chicken and it was simply jam packed with rosemary flavors. My other sister loved the lemon chicken and said it was "scrumptious." The burger looked good and my friend said it was very good and juicy. The service was really good too. All our needs were met. We shall return.

Jordan daily Went there last Friday night. I like this place,but I always go at lunchtime. This visit on a busy evening food and service was great. The bathroom was totally disgusting. Leaving ,the exit had a very bad odor of raw sewage. Not what you want to be exposed to after dinner.

The manager has got to be one of the least compassionate people I've ever met. A degree of obnoxiousness I genuinely found striking. It's a nice enough restaurant, but with people like her working there, save yourself the indigestion! Plenty of other more delightful spots in the area, minus this "manager's" grotesque rudeness. Negative rating for her sheer absence of compassion.

New owners are very kind, and welcoming, the food is always good and service professional. Great ambiance for special occasions!

What a pretty restaurant! We went for lunch and were not disappointed. We started off with curried mussels. I ordered the 75/25 burger and my friend ordered the French dip. The mussels were good, but could've been great! They needed a lot more curry flavor and maybe some coconut cream. The sandwiches, on the other hand, were excellent! My burger was really tasty with crispy bacon on a nice soft brioche roll. The French dip was also quite delicious. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and our server was personable and efficient. I will be back!

We have been to Prime Pub a few times now to have drinks at the bar. To start, the only reason I am giving this review 5 stars is because of Dooreen. The drinks the first few times we went were from two other bartenders that were not great. We go mainly for the drinks so for them to not even taste good was a disappointment. This last time we met Dooreen and it was a much better experience. Drinks were great and service was great. We will be back and hope she is bartending next time

I always liked the Prime Pub in Danbury and was thrilled when they took over the lovely location of the Chinese restaurant that overlooks the pond. They physical plant is beautiful and the views are great. The food has been uneven. Dropping my favorite from the Danbury location, hanger steak frites, didn't help. Generally the food is blander in Somers. The beef stroganoff had a peculiar taste, the NY strip was a tad tough and a medium not the ordered rare twice, the braised short rib was not the almost falling off the bone tenderness I'm used to and the Chilean sea bass disappointed as well. Service is spotty at lunch and on weekends. I enjoy most of my meals but each has had its disappointments as well. More consistency is required from the kitchen and professionalism from the wait staff. Danbury definitely better. Recommended with reservations.

Food is always a 10/10 I love coming here for brunch and dinner. It's so cozy inside and the staff are lovely.

If you are looking for a place for atmosphere and ambiance, Prime Pub is your place. The configuration and decor are open and spacious, and the picturesque view of the lake serves greatly as a backdrop. During our visit, the servers and bus staff were friendly and accommodating, and the food was fresh and well-prepared. There were a variety of offerings, from small appetizers to steaks, but my son and I were content with the Prime Kobe Patty Melt and the 25/75 Burger. Everything was cooked to order and satisfying. Price tag was a bit high ($75 for 2 burgers and 2 beers), but quality and taste were present during this experience. This place is ideal for all groups and all occasions.

Never imagined going to Somers for lunch. Prime Pub was worth the drive. Gorgeous view of a lake, great casual food and fine service.

Amazing food!! Amazing staffs great ambience! This place is so welcoming the minute you step foot in! Staffs are very very attentive for your every needs. I work in a group home where individuals needs support this place went above and beyond. Definitely recommending this place to everyone!!

I'll happily give 5 stars to this place. I've worked in the restaurant industry for a while, including a Michelin star restaurant. The food was enjoyable, decent aesthetic, but what really made the experience great was our server Louis. Incredibly respectful, bright and accommodating young man. Made it a great experience and deserves all the praise in the world. Well done.

My last visit was a disaster, my mussels appetizer were absolutely disgusting, ( overcooked, old, stringy with no business being on any plate) had to send back. I find it hard to believe that who ever prepared that dish thought that they were good enough to be brought out to a customer. (Mind you in previous visits with my wife the mussels were done to perfection and were delicious and made a decent meal in itself.) Complaining to the manager, who responded by pointing out that its hard to see what inside the shell, obviously yes, but once prepared all it takes is a good nose and vision to see that what you prepared is garbage. Serve to a cat next time and offer another choice to the client.

Update: The owner called. Not to apologize but to air his waitress's dirty laundry making excuses - "she has been fired before" " I don't like how she dressed today" . The brunch was weird but this situation is now beyond bizarre... -- What just happened?! 6 of us went for Sunday brunch for moms birthday. The restaurant was at most 10% full. Placed our order and then ... 45 min later still no food or staff. We had last seen the waitress about 10 min after placing the order. So we got up to ask another waitress and she went to check on the order. We didn't hear back from her nor the original waitress. Our food came out about an hour after we ordered but was an incomplete. 3 dishes came with a side of hash browns- no hash browns came and no acknowledgement that they were missing. One egg dish was completely cold and the short rib hash was salt-bombed. When we finally found the missing waitress she became incredibly defensive and accusatory. No apology. No acknowledgement of the time that was taken and the incompleteness of the order. There's was no manager, but the chef and 5 waitresses huddled around the terminal to do something with the bill. The solution? "We'd like to offer you free coffee and we took the short rib hash off the bill" Except they hadn't taken that dish off the bill...and we don't want coffee at 2pm.

After a few months, I returned to discover a complete turnover of staff. We were greeted appropriately, the food was good and the service was good. Glad to be able to return without the hassel. All best wishes to the new staff.

The cocktails and appetizers are the star of the show!! The main courses are subpar. The service is good, however they make you order your whole meal at once instead of drinks and appetizers and then order the main course after the appetizers. This is not the place to go if you want to enjoy your night with drinks and spread out food orders. It feels like they want you to order and get out, so they can turn the table over. The ambiance is perfect! Love the visual vibe!

had a wonderful lunch for my daughters graduation at Somers prime pub yesterday. so lucky to have the most incredible server, Doreen. She was welcoming, attentive, friendly professional. She was an absolute pleasure. Would Jeff go back there just to hope to be served by her again five star rating. The food was wonderful too, and the staff was great. The service was very friendly. However it was very busy, so the service was a bit slow. Our food was good. I would probably order differently to try other things. I didn't love what I ordered. But my sons Caesar salad was very good and we were a big group. 1/2 really liked it, 1/2 said it was okay. Our server was very nice and definitely did his best.

Great service and the food is super high quality. Their burgers are off the hook. Took it a little lighter here with an amazing Goat Cheese with portabello and goat cheese truffle oil flatbread. Place is much more than a pub. Worth a trip.

So happy to have such a wonderful restaurant close by, actually right in my back yard. Consistently good food. Servers are pleasant and knowledgeable. The bar area is attractive and there is a friendly atmosphere. Half price bottles of wine are a definite plus. The main room is warm and inviting with a lovely fireplace. There is a bank of windows overlooking the pond an ideal place for a peaceful lunch. Did I mention that the food is delicious and there is an ample menu for lunch, dinner or a snack at the bar?

Great vibe, food and service. This will be my new local "go-to". It checks all the boxes. The menu is diverse and will allow you to try something new every time. Can't wait to go back.

This is the third time I have been to Prime Pub and honestly it just gets better and better. We were a party of 4. Our friends got there first so they went to the bar. I was told that the bartender Ashley was making some awesome drinks!! And yes she did!! Now we're ready to get seated. We got a beautiful table by the window. Overlooking the pond. Very nice!! We had appetizers that were delicious!! I have to say we had the best waitress in the place, Doreen. She took her time with us and explained what ever we asked. Very thorough and very friendly. My kind of waitress. Our entrees were awesome. Me and my husband had the pork chop. Cooked perfect. My niece had the strip steak and it looked great and her husband had the Orecchiette pasta that he said was amazing. So now we order the lava cake to share. Me and my niece order a chocolate martin. Before you know it, Ashley the bartender comes to ask us questions about our martinis. So sweet. Never had that happen So everything was so very good. If you haven't tried it yet. Just go and have fun. Oh and I forgot to say how nice Tim, the owner is. And it's very nicely decorated.

My fiancé called to make reservations. Manager said to come at 6:45 pm. We are there on time and told by the manager that we have to wait for a bar table or table for a while. He seemed frustrated and not friendly at all. We find bar seats and decided to just sit there for dinner. I ordered the Tuna tacos and my fiancé ordered the pulled pork sandwich. The tuna was tough, veiny, with inconstant cuts. The pulled pork had no taste, was dry and the French fries were soggy and tasteless. Do not recommend! Only good thing was the two women bar tenders.

Every time we go there, we have a wonderful time. The views are beautiful. The food is wonderful and the hospitality. It's like if you're being served by Mom.

Prime example of inconsistency. We've been to Prime Pub at least 5 times. Always sit at the bar, or in the bar area. Gorgeous setting. First 2 times- not good cosmos. Then 2 times of excellent cosmos. Last time again not great. Food is expensive and its quality is fine, not superior but ok. The last time 2 barkeepers basically ignored us. Not sure if we'll be back.

We had a a private party for Easter Sunday! It was a perfect Sunday afternoon with a beautiful view. Our waitress Marlen was very attentive and right on point. The food was delicious, Brussel sprouts was a hit on our table and the Salmon. Thank you, for welcoming us with open arms. Cant wait to go back. :)

First visit impressed. They did a beautiful job with decor, service very accommodating but lacked menu knowledge and menu has a wide variety of items. All items are very inviting. Large portions. At our table we shared the eggplant tower, calamari (excellent) and spinach artichoke dip also delicious. All four of us enjoyed our entrees. Coffee suburb. Overall experience wonderful. We will gladly return. Why only 3 stars? It's only my honest opinion of where they are at this stage of this new venture. I am sure they will fine tune during this process. A very welcomed addition to the Heritage Hills community. Side note. If you don't want Sun on your table then don't sit at the windows by the lake and rudely adjust the blinds not only on your table but ours too. This was done without the assistance of the restaurant personnel. Classless act.....

The first time I went the food was really good. This recent time it was not as good. My burger was ordered medium rare but it came out medium well. While the staff was nice enough and offered to replace it, it was disappointing that I would not be able to eat with my friends. The onion soup was not nearly as good as the first time. The cheese was more like a blob and not crispy as it should be served. Cooking a burger and onion soup seems like a basic skill but they missed the mark.

The bar is ridiculously over priced. Do you think they are in Greenwich, CT. Price gouging to the fullest extreme. The service was poor and food was even worse. This place is below average with Michelin prices. Total joke. What a scam taking advantage of HH. NEVER AGAIN!! Bring back the Chinese restaurant. They had honor and wasn't trying to rob customers with exorbitant prices. SHAME ON YOU, PRIME OUB SOMERS. Greed is a mortal sin.

We used to like this place but the food seems to be going downhill. They used to have a Salmon Club on the menu, with filet of salmon, which was really good but it seems they are now cutting corners as they no longer offer the Salmon Club but instead have what they call a "Blackened Salmon Burger" which is actually a salmon cake (not salmon filet) with mostly filler and very little salmon - it seemed to be breaded and deep fried. We were very disappointed and will not be back soon.

So much fun. Came on a Wednesday afternoon and sat at the bar. Super fun bartender who was witty and quick on her feet. The food was great. We ordered tuna crudo and wings to start. My husband had the pork chop and I had the salmon, both were tasty. Can't wait to go back.

I never write restaurant review, or for that matter any other type of review, but I had such a bad experience at Sub-Prime Restaurant last night in this case, I felt compelled to do so. We had dinner reservations for 6:30. When we walked in the owner told us 2 minutes for a table . At around 6:50 he came over to us and asked, you wouldn't want to sit at a table by the bar it is very noisy. I confirmed that we did not. We reserved a table for dinner we were not walk-ins. He came by again and blurted out....2 minutes. At around 7 he asked again if we wanted to sit at a high top table in the bar area. I was incredulous. I told him once again, no. He asked me what kind of table I would like. I could not believe, a half hour after the time of our reservation, as my me and my wife were getting very hungry, he asked me that question. What did he even mean? He obviously did not have anything else available. Frustrated, I said to him a regular table. He asked me why I was upset. I said It is 7 and our reservations are for 6:30.. He then said "I do not have a table for you". Never have I been treated in such a manner, let alone by an owner. This guy is rude, pompous, and arrogant. An additional, note. Someone who came in behind us told this owner that he had a reservation at 6:30. The restaurant did not have the reservation. The person continued to indicate he made the reservation that same day but it appeared the owner continuing questioning him about it. How they could treat customers this way is incredible to me. They are apparently overbooking for no regard for theirs. I got no apology for having to wait and pushing me to sit in bar area rather me and my wife were effectively kicked out having t look for another place to have dinner

Our waitress complained about everyone who worked there. The busboy, bartender, even the owner. Her crass comments and off color remarks were not welcomed and made my girlfriend and I feel awkward every time she came by the table. She even made a "jew" joke when referring to the 4 dollar up charge for parm fries. The waitress would've been a perfect at b dubs or chili's but not a $$$ restaurant where she be waiting on adults mostly. The Brussel sprouts were really good. I ordered a middle eastern salad with falafel, but falafel looked like play dough and was not edible, the remainder of the salad was dressing and mixed field greens. Definitely not worth the price. My girl had the tuna tacos which where tasty but not possible to eat as a handheld so we used forks and knives and shared her dinner. I kick myself for not barking to management about waitress and the green play dough salad but felt on day 5, there would be some growing pains, and thus should let it slide. 10 days later, I decided to yelp to let others know there are much better restaurants in somers that deserve your business over this fledgling over pub. I really wanted to like this restaurant. I really did, but between service and my middle eastern play dough salad, i just cant recommend you spend your money here. Hopefully that waitress is gone, and someone else told the kitchen they're making the falafel wrong. I'll update review if i'm ever brave enough to enter. Also, there was cheesy techno elevator music on, odd choice of music with the rustic vibes that this pub has.

Dined here with friend's the other night. Our first time here. Very impressed with the decor. Looks nothing like the old Chinese restaurant we had been going to for years. As our friends were going to be a few minutes late, the waitress had no problem seating us and taking our drink order while we waited for our friends to arrive. After they arrived, we ordered apps and dinner. I ordered the nachos as an app and be forewarned, they will feed 2 or more people. I just wish they would use a better quality of chip instead of the out of the bag thin chips that don't stand up. Overall, they were good. Everyone else had nothing bad to say about their meals and thoroughly enjoyed them. The service was very good. We will be returning.

We recently moved to the area and Prime Pub is our regular place. Great service, friendly people and really good food! Never disappointed with their specials and the wine specials too.

Very good, nice server, but we were barely done with our appetizers and or entees came out. Felt somewhat rushed

Not going back! Though the restaurant was not busy for lunch, we waited a long time before the waiter came to take the order. Again, we waited a long time to get the food (dropped off by a "runner.") One order was completely COLD, and we kept trying to get the waiter's attention. Nope, so the food got eaten cold. I told the waiter the food was cold and that we couldn't get anybody's attention. He said "sorry" and just walked away. No "I'm sorry" or any acknowledgement that he should have shown up to make sure the food was fine. Against our better judgment, we ordered 2 different desserts. What we got was ONE dessert with 2 spoons. When the waiter showed up, he said it was the fault of the the guy making the desserts who did not know 2 desserts were ordered. Why not? The waiter lost the order. Took no responsibility for anything. They don't know what they are doing and really don't care.

I went there on Sunday 10/29 to celebrate my birthday with my family. A lovely waitress who was dressed up for Halloween greeted us and sat the 6 of us at a round table. The restaurant was not busy at this time. Our orders were directly from the menu. Breakfast quesadillas, short rib hash, salmon. a burger, seared tuna tacos. Of these orders, 4 were modified. Gluten free wrap, avocado instead of bacon, plain salmon vs marinated and to order hash browns vs fries. All of these were clearly outlined on the menu. Cool, order placed. 45 minutes later, no food or waitress. We were looking around for someone to ask about our food. A different server passed by and we asked her to find ours. Our waitress approached our table and was attitudinal with us for asking where our food was. She said we had a lot of modifications on our order!! Not apologetic about anything. The food arrived a few minutes after that. The hash was inedible because it was heavily salted. The 4 orders of hash browns were French fries.with one order being cold. When we asked about the hash, she told us in no uncertain terms that they were being made now (modifications) Ashe was told not to bother. Most of us were not only disgusted with the food but moreover the service and her poor attitude. Asked for a manager, no one was on site. The chef came out of the kitchen to our table and he offered no apologies either. No one took ownership of this comedy of errors or offered an apology. We only got attitude from the few people working that day. It was decided that no tip was going to be given for such awful service. No one offered to comp the drinks ( 3) the rest had water. Avon my drive home, the owner called me. He wanted to know where his servers tip was. He started to say that she got fired from another job because she wouldn't take a Covid vaccine and he was trying to help her. He was mad that she came to work in a silly costume. He did not offer any apologies for the bad experience at his restaurant. I will never go back here!!!!!

Overpriced and mediocre cocktails. Gets super loud when there is a crowd and not the nicest people..

Food , service and atmosphere were all outstanding. Went on Friday night with no reservations and the bar and restaurant was packed. Hostess was honest and told us we would not be able to get a table that night. Decided to have a drink at the bar, which is beautiful, before going elsewhere. So happy we did! A bar side table became available and the hostess offered it to us. Started with cocktails - a old fashioned and a Harvest Pear which was rimmed with sugar and was very tasty! Shared the short rib tater tots which were very good but not what I expected. These are more like a potato croquette . I had the buttermilk chicken sandwich and husband had the 25/75 burger which was cooked to perfection. Ended with the warm apple crisp so good! Even though the restaurant was packed our server Nellie and the other servers were all pleasant and very attentive and friendly!
