"This charming 'Cinderella'-themed carrousel is an adorable addition to Fantasyland, but it's similar enough to other carrousels found at theme parks around the world, so your ride time can be better spent elsewhere in Magic Kingdom." - Travel + Leisure Editors

The carousel is always a fun distraction from the crowds. If you go early in the day, you can get on once maybe twice without a wait. If you wait later in the day, you could see a 15 to 20 minute wait just to get on the road.

Google
A classic flat ride that is seen right when you go through Cinderella’s Castle. Although it doesn’t have much theming to it, the location does justice for this carousel. Although the bars can be dirty, the ride goes at a moderate pace, which provides some mild thrill. Overall, would recommend if you’re bringing young children.

Google
What makes this carousel unique is that it's in the Magic Kingdom. Families with children will enjoy riding this carousel. It is a great photo opportunity to make memories that will last a lifetime. Line moves at a good speed.

Gabriella

Google
A classic ride that retains its fun and magical nature even as one grows older. The line is usually only around 10 minutes long, at the most. Great location in the center of Fantasyland as well. Would recommend if you have younger children, or if you have a little downtime and would like to pop on.

Google
Nice ride. It has 4 horse sizes for the tall to the short people 😃. Good 1 1/2 min ride. Better than the others. Satisfactory level 5/5. A repeatable ride.

Google
Beautiful carousel located behind Cinderella Castle and in front of the Princess Fairytale Hall. Unlike other carousels, all of the rideable horses on this one actually move up and down. Depending on the time of day, you will have to stand in line somewhere between 15-30 minutes. Our kids loved it.

My five year old daughter begged to go on this first so we did. I didn’t know that most parents stood beside the horses with their kids, so I jumped on a horse next to her. I was on the smallest horse and I was the biggest guy there. It was a lot of fun and my daughter had a great time.

One of my favorite rides at Disney! The huge variety of horses are amazing to look at and enjoy the little varieties and details! COVID makes it a little slower ride but I appreciate the distancing. Check out the favorite horse in row 16, one horse towards the inside. We had a blast and will ride again many times I am sure!

Yelp
While my friends rode Big Thunder Mountain (also too scared of "rollercoasters" and remember this ride too vividly in bad ways from my childhood LOL), I got in line for Prince Charming Regal Carrousel! It is basically your run of the mill carrousel, but just the high end of that. There are 4-5 rows of horses, so it can fit a lot of people and different sizes as well, with the biggest horses on the outermost ring. This ride is definitely geared towards kids but as a 30 year old, I still enjoyed it just fine! There is never too long of a wait here, given that it's one of the tamest attractions here and given the capacity it can handle per round. So I think I waited at most 5 minutes here. The ride itself I found to be noticeably longer than your average carrousel ride length, so that was appreciated as well!

Yelp
Prince Charming Regal Carousel is located in Fantasyland Magic Kingdom within Disney World. It is a classic Disney ride. It's right in the center of Fantasyland, next to Mickey's Philharmonic. My family had visited towards the end of July. Social distancing markers were in place for the wait queue. You're no longer able to pick your own horse. You are assigned a row, and at that point, you can pick out the horse within the row that you're allocated to. The horses go up and down, while other selections stay still. The Carousel moves in a circle. It's beautifully decorated. My daughter has enjoyed this ride since she was small and wanted to go on it at least once during our visit at Magic Kingdom!

Yelp
What kind of Scrooge McDuck doesn't love a carrousel? Perhaps there are faster, more thrilling rides around... but nothing as classic and timeless as this! It's a beautiful ride featured right next to the castle in Magic Kingdom. There wasn't a frown in the place. All of us, kids and parent together, had a blast. This is required riding at the Kingdom.

Nasha W.

Yelp
While visiting the Magic Kingdom this beautiful carousel is always a staple and a must ride if you have little ones. We always enjoy our ride but on our particular visit we witnessed a lady fall off and hit her head to the point where she was bleeding, paramedics had to be called, and the ride was closed for a while. I was severely taken aback by the lack of training for cast members operating the ride. They had absolutely no first-aid kit and no real knowledge of how to help this lady. They were suggesting she lay down and with our knowledge we encouraged the castmember to keep her head up and to keep pressure on her head while keeping her conscious and talking but they disregarded us completely. The response time for paramedics to show up was also extremely disappointing for Disney standards and the cast members had a terrible way of dealing with everyone's concern/ questions about the ride closure. Overall poor handling of an emergency and this shed a new reality for this ride. On a side note, this carousel closes during the fireworks and reopens once they finish. This will save you from having disappointed children during that time of the day.

Shelby Z.

Yelp
Yeah, it's a Fantasyland classic, but I could do without it. I'm not one for carousels in general, and I personally just don't find this ride that exciting compared to everything else Magic Kingdom has to offer. Especially with how congested Fantasyland can get, I often feel like this ride can be in the way and causes even more traffic with its gigantic stroller parking spots. It is still a cute ride though. It's also nice for when other ride lines are long, as this one typically never exceeds 30 minutes.

Mike O.

Yelp
I'll be uncharacteristically short-winded here. It's a carousel. In the shadow of Cinderella's castle. No Disney magic. Nothing extraordinary. You get the feeling that they thought, "Well, there sure is a lot of open space behind this mock-castle we've got here...maybe we should do something." And, in comes a generic-as-can-be carousel. You're better than this Mickster. Skip this, do something amazing (there's TONS on offer), and hit the carousel in your local park back home.

John L. H.

Yelp
I love the carousel. Ever since I first rode one in New Orleans City Park, I have had a love for carousels. This is a great example of a classic carousel from a time gone by. There are all types of animals to ride including moving, stationary and even large benches. Kids and adults will love this ride. Because it holds so many people, and the ride isn't long, you wont normally have to wait very long to ride. If you're a fan of old style carousels, check this out.

Ariel W.

Yelp
This is just a beautiful authentic carousel. After the fireworks were over we headed to Fantasy Land and found ourselves in front of this ride with no line so we hopped aboard. It brings out the kid in everyone. It's great for all ages, especially if there is no line. If you rode it once you can probably skip it but I love it's old fashioned feel. There may be much more exciting rides to go on at Disney but my daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our two minute ride.

Annie H.

Yelp
Who doesn't love a carousel?? This is a must while visiting the park. The horses are beautiful with great detail put into them. Some go up and down while others stay still. This is a ride for the entire family!

Matt M.

Yelp
Horses go up. Horses go down. You rotate around. So, that's the gist of every merry-go-round and carousel, and this is no different. It's quite nice albeit a bit short (maybe 90 seconds?). But that makes it a pretty short line/wait.

Hank C.

Yelp
A double line that snakes back and forth, reasonably covered. The line starts... well, wherever that courtier stands with the sign. Moves fast, though they don't try to completely fill up the carousel each time, but it does get full and has great lights at night. Classic, gorgeous larger horses outside, inside the smaller horses and plenty of variations on crests and leather straps to hold your little ones in. Classic up and down for all to ride. No need to Fastpass this one (as one reader noted, doesn't take it!), and a good large parking lot of strollers every time as this is right for most parents to collapse into the single seat easily. Located behind Cinderella's castle. And better than two minute ride, which was nice.

Aly W.

Yelp
A classic ride in any park. The wait time is usually minimal (and don't bother if it isn't) but the line moves quickly because there's five rows of horses: three rows of smaller horses on the inside, two rows of larger horses on the outside.

Yelp
Prince Charming Regal Carrousel (formerly Cinderella's Golden Carrousel) is an authentic carousel ride at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort. This 90-horse carousel plays organ-based Disney classics during the two-minute ride period. Hand painted scenes from Disney's Cinderella can be seen on the ride. The carousel was originally built by The Philadelphia Toboggan Company, one of the most prestigious carousel companies, in 1917. In 1967, Walt Disney purchased the handmade carousel (and horses) from the Olympic Park in Maplewood, New Jersey. The original name of the carousel was Liberty, and the maidens can still be seen on the top of the carousel. Every horse is different. [edit] Cinderella's Horse There are conflicting stories regarding whether one of the horses on the carrousel is "Cinderella's Horse". The horse in question is in the second rank of horses, and is the only one that has a golden bow on its tail. Cast Members refer to this horse as one that belongs to Cinderella and it has been referred to as such in various Disney publications. Cinderella has been depicted as riding a horse in various pieces of collectable sculpture and artwork, such as a 2001 Limited Edition lithograph. However, in an interview with Isle Voght, a park employee responsible for restoring the ride along with John Hench, she gives her own reasons for doubting the veracity of the Cinderella's Horse story, namely that the princess would not have a horse on an inner row, and that her horse would be decorated much more elaborately than the others. Also, she states that Cinderella never rode a horse in her film. The Disney Imagineers did not include the story of Cinderella's horse in the 2010 rewriting of the carrousel backstory.

Sarah S.

Yelp
This is the oldest ride at the park as t was built in 1917! The ride lasts just 2 minutes long with no two horses on the carrousel looking the same plays Disney songs as you go 'round and 'round the merry go round. Aside from the Railroad, I would say this is the most relaxed ride in Magic Kingdom. It's a cute little ride that's great for kids!

Louisa M.

Yelp
This truly is the granddaddy of all carousels. If you are a fan of merry go rounds in general, don't miss this ride. It's absolutely beautiful and huge! I'm an adult now but the twinkling lights and gleaming horses and shiny mirrors still make my eyes like up like a 4 year old. Choose a horse on the outside so you can get a stunning view of the castle as you go round and round and up and down. There's hardly ever a wait, making this a great choice when the park is busy.

Joseph B.

Yelp
Last time we were here it was closed for repairs. This time we got to RIDE!!! Who can resist riding the crown jewel ride in all the Disney parks? The ride itself is a testament to the lasting Cinderella Castle theme and compliments the Castle nicely since it is located directly behind it. The ride is steeped with details too many to list. From the ornate horses and benches to the music being played, it is a must-ride attraction for all ages.

Mike W.

Yelp
The Winnie the Pooh ride was another that had a long wait time, so we grabbed a fast pass and broke out the app for our next few... the first stop was the Carrousel. It's another one of those things that you just have to do. Jump on a horse and take a few spins around, taking in a 360 degree look at most of the current Fantasyland. Some times it's fun to slow things down and just reflect on how good of a time you're actually having. Well this is definitely one of those rides you can do that on.

Amy S.

Yelp
It's a carrousel and it's inside the Magic Kingdom. You almost "have" to ride to just to say be able to say, "I rode the carrousel inside the Magic Kingdom!" I love old carrousels, but it's just not really what I go to Disney to do because you can ride a carrousel anywhere in the country. If you have a little one, you should definitely do it or if the line is short. Otherwise, I'd say skip it and move on to bigger and better things.

Larissa C.

Yelp
Sure it might be just a carousel, but I'm a carousel buff. This was actually a 1917 model by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, the namesake of the Philadelphia style of carousels, as characterized by their realism.

Hemant T.

Yelp
This carousel is so much fun for kids. I saw many parents also enjoying and laughing with their kids during the ride. We too enjoyed ourselves a lot.

Chelsea B.

Yelp
What do I love most about Disney? Besides the adventure rides, it's probably the carousel. And this is no imitation--it's the old-fashioned porcelain horses and each have unique character. The line can look long, but the capacity is so high it almost always can get everyone onboard within two rounds. Especially great for little kids, since there are no height or age requirements. It's worth an old-fashioned stop in my opinion, even with all Disney has to offer.

Erika S.

Yelp
This is a clasdic ride at magic kingdom. Its perfect for families with little ones. What people dont know is that it has a very nice view of the fireworks.

Dianna B.

Yelp
This carousel is a work of art. The music is the tunes of Disney movie, made into elevator score, but the horses are elaborately painted, and they are high and low, as they circle the track in the square of Castle court.

Sara S.

Yelp
A carrousel is a carrousel in my book. They only have 1 bench, which makes it difficult if you are looking for a seat with a little one.

Garrison S.

Yelp
It's a carousel. How bad can it be? It's nothing out of this world but I will say it is in pristine condition. I'm not one for carousels too much but this was fun to do with my friend who was visiting from Australia. I had never been on Prince charming's carousel. This was my first and usually a ''skip'' for me when I visit ''Mouseland''. You zip around and around for about two minutes and that's it. It's quick, effortless, fun. Nice clean fun - what else? I do prefer rides that are more esoteric to the place I'm visiting where you can't find anywhere else but this is not one of them and I think carousels are pretty much all over the place. It's still a beautiful and fun ride in a unique environment with pretty views - right near the gorgeous Cinderella castle.

Clarissa M.

Yelp
Classic carousel. Right behind Cinderella's castle. Nothing particularly special about this specific carousel

Rachel S.

Yelp
True, carousels are not the most exciting rides at The Kingdom, but it's historic, iconic... heck, it's TRADITION! It's a lovely little ride, nice and relaxing with no wait. Look for Cinderella's horse next time! It's the one with the golden ribbon on its tail. :-)

Ryan C.

Yelp
A must do at DW. You will have to wait in line (and absolutely do not get out because you won't be able to get back to your spot. I got out to take my families picture and dind't get to ride it the second time we went because the cast members wouldn't let me back in line.) This is a relaxing ride. You do have to ride, you can not sit.
