We stopped here for a late lunch, thinking the cafe being attached to a shop could be just for a quick bite. Turned out it was pretty good, from the friendly staff, reasonably priced menu and finally the delicious food. Chowder was creamy and tasty, crab cakes were well made. The restaurant was very clean, bright and elegantly decorated. The view from the windows was stunning.

Nice place to visit. Fantastic preserves...highly recommend blueberry/raspberry & champagne preserve! Food was good...as we were leaving, they were setting up for an English high tea, which looked delicious! Garden of Hope was a pretty walk around too.

Google
The BEST breakfast we had in all of PEI! We also enjoyed their stunning tea collection — the Cavendish themed black tea was divine (and came in a very cute teapot). Their pancakes were light and delicious (the best I have had in a long time), their eggs were great and flavourful, their preserves (unsurprisingly) were perfection — smooth, packed with flavour, sweet but not too sweet. The only possible criticism is that I didn’t particularly love the hash browns, their char was not my favourite. However, everything else was a 10/10. The location was beautiful, getting to overlook the river and enjoy the extensive budding garden. Would return tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after that — frankly, if I moved here, I would be a regular.

Google
A lovely store that makes their own jams and preserves. Food: 5/5 - They offer free tasting of tea and assorted sweet and savory jams. My favorite is the local Haskapa berry jam. I bought several jars as gifts. There is also an eatery there. You can also see through the window where they were making batches of jam. They also sell teas, cups and Service: 5/5 - friendly and nice Atmosphere: 5/5 - comfy and warm feel to the place.

Ah, PEI Preserve Company… our old reliable favorite. We’ve raved about this place for years, so naturally, we brought our German guests to experience that famous Island charm and hospitality. What we got instead was… well… let’s call it a masterclass in culinary suspense. We were seated quickly, which was cute, because then we got to spend 1 hour and 30 glorious minutes bonding over the question: “Do you think they remember we exist?” Spoiler: they did. Eventually. 30 minutes in we actually got drinks. The highlight reel: Three of us ordered cake, and it came first (hooray!). Then, in a plot twist no one saw coming, the hot meals arrived a casual 30 minutes later. Perfect for that authentic “I live in a time loop” dining experience. Our waitress, an absolute master of disinterest, managed to not update us a single time. I think she was playing professional-level hide and seek. The food itself? Still good. Which was impressive considering the level of dramatic buildup. But by the time it arrived, we’d already considered foraging in the gift shop or chewing on the menus for survival. So, bravo PEI Preserve Company, you’ve reinvented fine dining as a high-stakes waiting game. Five stars for the nostalgia of what you used to be, two stars for this magical journey into disappointment. Bring a deck of cards, a sleeping bag, and maybe a packed lunch next time—you’ll need it.

Gorgeous spot to stop for lunch and shopping. Food was amazing, loved that I could ship home the items I purchased in the gift shop, and beautiful gardens outside. Highly recommend!

Google
We stopped at the pei preserve co because we were told they had great pie, and they were right! We didn’t check the time, so when we got there they had closed the cafe, and we were so disappointed when they told us, but the staff offered to box up some pie slices for us to take to-go, even though they had been closed 20 minutes. It was such a kind offer and we were delighted that our stop had not been in vain. We got two slices of raspberry pie and enjoyed them very much. It was a little on the pricey side, but worth it in my opinion.

What a lovely place! The food was excellent, we had a pleasant server and we really enjoyed our time there. Absolutely coming back next year!

Yelp
Wow! I cannot say enough good things about PEI Preserve Company. Beautiful little restaurant and gift shop right on the river. A perfect place to buy delicious, unique, & local PEI gifts - both for yourself and others! Make sure to leave some time here to walk around the gorgeous gardens they have outside, too. I wish I could tell you all which preserves are the best but that would be impossible because they're ALL the best! The raspberry with champagne... the strawberry with Grand Marnier... the wild blueberry... I love them all so much I can't pick a favorite. And (lucky me) they have a zillion samples out so you can try them all in the store before buying! I also love the summer honey with Grand Marnier (can you tell I like Grand Marnier?), there is nothing better in a hot cup of tea! And of course they have that too! Thank goodness they ship to the U.S. because I consumed half the gifts I had brought back with me for my family and had to buy more online. And l'm sure I'll be ordering some more again soon, to tide me over until I can get back here in person!

Yelp
Amazing jams, most of them you can try on site. Favorites were cherry salsa, Haskap berry, very berry cherry, strawberry, blueberry.

Yelp
We arrived with a tour bus, having 22 min to spend, and beelined for the cafe, asking if we could get two cups of soup in 20 min. We were told "no problem" and took a seat. We reiterated again that we only had 20 min. I asked for the check and paid it with a 20% tip. At the 17 min mark, our tour guide came to check on us reminding the kitchen and waitress that we only had 16 min. They said - with a slight bit of attitude - that they were "well aware." The 14-, 12-, and 10- min marks came and went. At the 5- min mark, with no soup on sight, we stood up and told the waitress our bus was leaving in 4.5 min. She looked utterly shocked and ran to the kitchen, returning with our soup. I said we'd run out of time and had 3-min to race out the cafe, cross the parking lot and get on the bus. She said she'd put the soup in take-away containers, but I argued that "we can't being fish soup on a bus! It's not fair to everyone else!" We left the restaurant and got on our bus. At the 30-second mark, the waitress ran out with a bag of take-away fish soup. I rose from my seat and said we couldn't do that to our fellow tourists. She thrust it at me and said, "It's yours! You paid for it." She left the bus and my daughter said, "Oh, Mom. It smells." I took it off the bus and left it on the parking lot asphalt. Moral of the story? This spot can't do quick soup so don't ask.

Yelp
Lunch here with the tour group after touring Green Gables park (not an Anne fan so I'm skimpy on details of these parts). I ordered fish cakes; well I am certain I finally got to sample those famed PEI potatoes. Uncertain as to whether there was any fish in them. Rather lackluster. Dessert very nice raspberry pie, unique as I think the texture said tapioca which I hardly see in recipes any more. And they serve brewed tea, not just ole lukewarm water and a bag. Love it! No jams to take home as I travelled only with carry-on luggage. Really cuts down on the shopping options.

Yelp
First timer! Went with a group of five and everyone loved it! From the phenomenal tea, lovely waitress, delicious meals & yummy dessert: this was amazing!! They had dairy free, vegetarian, and gluten free options/substitutions so it truly is somewhere everyone can eat too! Highly recommend a stop here while on the Island!! Plus they had beautiful gardens you can walk before or after your meal.

Yelp
This was the best breakfast we had on PEI! Enjoyed food and some different teas. Stopped by the butterfly house afterwards.

Yelp
Potato pie was excellent as was the Caesar salad. Highly recommend. There was a wait time of an hour but got called 15 minutes later!

Yelp
The store has a great selection and the staff is helpful. The food in the restaurant is good but not consistent. I have been a few times and some hot meals arrive cold and on occasion meal is not as ordered. The prices aren't cheap so expectation is higher.

Yelp
We've been here seven times over the last four years, so we have lots of good things to say about this delightful restaurant/shop about a half hour our of Charlottetown. All our visits her have been for breakfast, which is a splendid experience. First there's the setting, beside the River Clyde and a lovely walking garden; it makes for stunning views from your table by the window. And if that doesn't put you in a good enough mood, try one of the many teas they offer as a specialty; we prefer the Earl Grey black tea served in a very attractive teapot/cup combination much like what you can purchase in the shop. Breakfast? We prefer the big one: eggs with cheese, bacon or sausage (the sausage is delightfully spicy but not too much), two blueberry pancakes and potatoes. It's a heap o' food. The pancakes by themselves are delicious. The wait staff is very friendly and occasionally pushed to be as quick as they might like because the crowds can really build up after 10 (they begin serving breakfast at 9). The shop carries a bountiful selection of teas, teapot, mugs, many of them fine bone china and not inexpensive. The choice of preserves and sweets is extensive, and it's fun to take some time to go through all of the shelves. We obviously love coming here every time we're on PEI, and we would urge you to give it a try. For breakfast we'd suggest arriving before 10. And we know the lunch crowd comes in beginning around 11:30. Prices, by the way, seem quite reasonable for the food; our favorite breakfast platter with all that food is $13 Canadian and includes coffee or tea.

Yelp
A trip to Prince Edward Island would not be complete without a trip (or two) to PEI Preserve Co. Restaurant! We usually go for a breakfast and a lunch, followed by a walk through the lovely Gardens of Hope. All the food is delicious but I recommend trying their Potato Pie at least once. It is delicious! Their desserts are wonderful too. Highly recommend this gem. It is under new ownership so I was a bit worried but the charm and quality are still the same. We will be back!

Emily H.

Yelp
The potato pie is amazing, we eat here every time we are on the island. There is usually a pretty long wait, but it is definitely worth it.

Yelp
Great spot in the middle of PEI, with different types of preserves, jams, syrups, and the like. They also have a pretty great restaurant, so we decided to try it out. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived, so we put our name in, got a buzzer, and walked around the area. Outside, there's a garden with some cool plants to see, so we spent some time there. I also spent some time inside trying out different jams and such. They have lots of different flavors, and they're all pretty good. For lunch, we enjoyed everything that was brought to the table. We ordered PEI mussels, which were delicious, and they were good about keeping the bread separate to accommodate my wife's gluten allergy. For my main meal, I ordered a potato pie, which was also delicious. In addition, my wife and I shared a gluten-free cheesecake for dessert, which was awesome as well!

Yelp
We splurged on our day visit to PEI with both our calories and the bill, ending our day at PEI Preserve. What couldn't have been more perfect was a room with fantastic scenic views and the most courteous staff. Despite many tour buses full of visitors, we had prompt and amazing attention! Our meals were warm and delightful. The lobster croissant left our mouths wanting more and it filled our stomach with unparalleled-joy! The selection of teas, jams, and every mug imaginable were offered up by amazing staff.

Natalie L.

Yelp
Seasonal.....beautiful location, and great menu. Being on a "wait list" is a good concept once you try it! Especially for breakfast.

Karen P.

Yelp
Good place to have lunch. Most of their dishes are good but do not order the Clubhouse sandwich . It was dry with very little chicken. I like the potatoe pie. The raspberry pie is good.

Yelp
This is a MUST visit spot when you're in PEI. There's not enough time to explain how amazing this place is but if you've got time, you HAVE to meet the owner, Bruce, who will tell you his amazing story and how this place came to be! Fantastic on so many levels. Service - impeccable. Location - incredible. Food - delicious. Tea - selection! Preserves - absolutely awesome.. plus, plus, plus! The gift shop attached has a MASSIVE selection of preserves, teas, mugs, tea pots, etc. You have to come here. You need to hear about what they're doing and you gotta try everything!

Amy F.

Yelp
Yummy food, but incredibly slow service. We were there for breakfast but ate more so at lunch time!

Nathaniel F.

Yelp
What a lovely setting. We stopped in for lunch and got our names on the wait list just ahead of a massive tour bus (this place is a bit of a tourist trap). After a stroll through the surrounding garden, we got sandwiches to start and then shared a piece of raspberry cream cheese pie. The sandwiches were okay but the pie blew us away. We left wishing we'd skipped the sandwiches and just had a couple slices of pie for lunch instead. Very, very good.

Ralph C.

Yelp
Lovely venue, excellent food and super service. You will want to sample the great jams on the counter by the entrance. They are bottled for your purchase and eating pleasure.

Amber C.

Yelp
Great food! The desserts are awesome. Best raspberry pie around! The gift shop is full of lots of gift ideas. If you have time, a walk through the Gardens of Hope is a must.

Diane M.

Yelp
Food was OK and service was just fair for the high price we got paid .Don't think we will go back .Paid and I may ch Kobe for just breakfast

Linda B.

Yelp
We went there for breakfast. Great variety. Nice ambiance. Staff very friendly . The preserves were so tasty. We need to return so we can order our preserves to take home to enjoy all year

Yelp
A trip to PEI isn't complete without going to the Preserve Company. The food is exceptional, especially the deserts! The shop has great food items for purchase like jams and teas. Our waitress Dale was amazing and made our meal 100x better! One of our favorites on the island!

Yelp
Our Family has been going every Sunday Morning for ... I don't know how long ... forever. It's a family tradition that we will carry on as our Dear Mom and Dad have left us with many beautiful memories and traditions to enjoy.

Yelp
The jams were amazing. The bread fresh and hot. We enjoyed potatoes and eggs as well and they were very good too, but you'd be missing out if you went here and skipped the toast and jam. The views were spectacular and the staff friendly and helpful. The gift shop has all their jams for you to take home.

Yelp
Excellent in every respect - ambiance, food, beverage, service, location! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Nice place to stop to buy some preserves or some mini maple syrups but it can be hard to find a table for lunch. We stopped by for lunch on our first day in PEI and the place was PACKED. We were given a lobster buzzer to alert us when a table was ready so we spent a good amount of time looking around the preserves shop while we waited. Unfortunately it took at least 25 minutes to get a table, and once we were seated the service was quite slow. I wouldn't recommend coming to eat here if you are super hungry. We ordered the seafood chowder, the fish cakes, and the vegetarian sandwich. Food took awhile to arrive at the table because there were s lot of huge parties in the restaurant but we finally got to try the chowder which was very rich and creamy. My mom enjoyed it but I found it too creamy. I enjoyed my fish cakes although everything was kind of blended together so I couldn't tell what was potato and what was fish. However, it tasted good with the green tomato chutney which is something I hadn't tried before. It was sweet and cut the salt of the fish cakes nicely. The veggie sandwich had nice vegetables but there was too much bread. Parking is a bit tight here because they only have 2 or 3 spots up front and the rest near the main door are for tour buses :( if you don't snag a front spot you have to park in the dirt lot a bit further away.

Yelp
This place has it all! Gorgeous dining room and setting, garden outside to wait in, and a deliciously dainty menu with fun touches. Plus, you can shop for amazing teas and homemade preserves.

Yelp
Their products are exceptional. I visited there two years ago and have ordered from them ever since. Orders arrived promptly and very well packaged. Subscribe to their newsletter so you don't miss anything. Also Bruce's blog. Great company. Wonderful people. I would like to go back for another visit.

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous stop in our drive around PEI! We got there around 11:30am, just in time to overlap with a few tour buses so it was incredibly busy and crowded in the store. Our wait was estimated to be ~30-40 min which was enough time to browse the preserves and take a short walk into the garden (the only limitation being the buzzer they gave you). The garden was beautiful and lovely and I would have liked to explore more but we had other plans for our day. As for the food, one of the reasons this was on our list of places to try was the gluten-free friendliness of the menu. Items were clearly marked and servers were knowledgeable about dietary needs. We shared mussels, which came with gluten free bread on the side. I had the lobster croissant (sans croissant and subbed in GF bread) and my husband had the potato pie. My parents opted for the lobster quiche and they said it was one of the best things they ate on the trip. I enjoyed my sandwich, but they broke the cardinal rule of gluten free bread and didn't toast it! Anyone who's had gluten free bread would know it NEEDS to be toasted. There are ways to toast bread and avoid cross-contamination. The potato pie was yummy, but it would probably be too heavy as a dish for me personally. However, the star, the absolute highlight of the meal that stole the show was the GLUTEN FREE TIRAMISU!!! Yes you read that right. I love tiramisu and I've missed it terribly since being gluten free. This was one of those star aligning moments where it wasn't just "good for gluten free" but it was flat out amazing. My husband and mother agreed. My mother only had 2 bites, but even she was dreaming about that dessert the rest of our trip (as was I). I would definitely recommend making a stop here if you're close by! The shop, restaurant, gardens made for a very pleasant experience!

Yelp
Exactly what you expect at a good price. They do the preserves, desserts and tea perfectly and I would vome here often if I lived on PEI. The gift and preserve shop has a lot of good gear for jam and tea lovers.

Yelp
We have been coming to PEI for some 20 yrs. We each year have enjoyed many times at PEI Preserve Co. We have brought families from near and far over the years to enjoy lunch, tea, and desserts. We always make a stop on the Dunoon wall of cups and tea pots, also grabbing a few bags of teas, and jars of their outstanding jams & jellies. We were sorry not to see Bruce today on his birthday but we know he would have greeted us with him warm smile and personality as always. It is also always a treat Monday - Thursday to catch the noontime Caliegh with outstanding Island talent every summer.

Yelp
For lunch, we had a potate cake and fish cakes. Both are great foods and generous portion.

Yelp
The food was really good. We had lunch and tried their tea, too. The coconut tea was delicious. Service was great and inside was clean.

Yelp
Had breakfast here and it was delicious. Egg croissant with sausage. As a coffee drinker, I tried the Earl Grey tea which was really good because of the tea leaves. Staff and service was excellent.

Yelp
Beautiful spot with amazing food and service. Lovely shop and new cafe. Don't miss it!!

Yelp
We went and met our friend breakfast. What a lovely location to go to. There is a shop with a sampling bar to try their different preserves. They have a restaurant where we had breakfast that was quite tasty. The waiter took our order on an iPad which was kind of neat. They had a large tea selection and a great breakfast selection. We walked around the grounds for a while, which were lovely and saw a blue Heron, a few sheep and beautiful garden. I would highly recommend stopping here even if you aren't hungry or want to shop as the grounds are nice to walk around.

Yelp
Great location and customer service. I can't believe it gourmet food at such reasonable prices. I myself had the PEI Potato Pie because potato is highly recommended here. The pie itself was filled with smooth potato scallops planted from their red soils which k

Yelp
Wonderful staff. Delicious food. Beautiful gardens. The preserves were delicious! Had to buy a few on my way out!

Yelp
Love this place. But, I love dressings, jams and teas . What a great spot. Super busy. Cafe looked amazing. Excellent product. Outstanding gardens

Aram F.

Yelp
We arrived and were told it would be a 45 mins wait. Luckily they have a super cute garden on their water front property that made the time fly by while we waited for our table. Husband ordered the lobster pot pie and salad. No complaints from him. Crust was fluffy and golden and filling was creamy and delicious. Expect a liquidy filling but flaviourful. I ordered the vegetarian lasagna and it was very well done with a wonderful homemade tomatoe sauce and tons of veggies and a nice melted golden cheesy top. Their balsamic salad dressing was wonderful. We finished lunch off with a fudge cheese cake that was really hard to share with each other definitely recommend at least once, but maybe call and make a reservation first lol.

Yelp
My husband and I spent a beautiful morning at PEI Preserve Co. on our way from Cavendish to Charlottetown. We had been on PEI for a few days, and it's like you can't go to any of the gift shops around Cavendish without seeing products from PEI Preserve. So, we (or really, I) just had to try it! The view was gorgeous, and though the gift shop had been inundated with tour bus groups, the restaurant itself was quiet during the time we were there, so we got to enjoy our tea at our leisure. Pair that with a bowl of their delicious, creamy seafood chowder, and the experience was pretty perfect. And then, of course we had to stop and get some bags of tea to take home with us. I'm enjoying a cup of Cavendish Sunset now while I write this review in California and wishing I was back there!

Yelp
There were 9 of us for dinner and it was fantastic. David, our lovely server (who looks like Orlando Bloom btw) was such a treat. The lobster chowder, even a cup, was unbelievably delish! I also had the Hodge Podge Fish that was really good as well. One of our friends ordered the scallop dinner and when it arrived, it looked more like an appetizer on salsa (I found out it was tomatoes afterwards) and by the time we got back to the cottage after seeing a play, she was ravenous. So we aren't sure if she got a dinner or an appetizer instead. Overall, everyone else found their fish cakes, chowders and other food very good and fresh.

Yelp
Fun little shop of incredibly tasting jams and other preserves. We did a little taste testing on the shop side first and then went over to the restaurant. The view is beautiful over the pond and the restaurant is bright and clean. We both had the fish cakes- which were very good with a chutney preserve. I was also a big fan of the sour cream & herb dressing on the salad. We sadly didn't save room for dessert- but the dessert menu looked amazing. There's a butterfly garden on site, but we didn't stay to check that out.
google avatar

Hillary R.

Yelp
One of the locals suggested stopping by this adorable shop and cafe. They don't open for service usually until may 29th but they had a limited menu for Mother's Day. The food was absolutely delicious. My husband and I both ordered the potato pie which was thinly sliced layers of potato and cheese in a bacon crust. We also ordered the raspberry cream pie for dessert. Service was very fast and staff was very pleasant. I loved all the tea and jams in the shop.

Rob B.

Yelp
I didn't have a chance to visit the physical store, but their preserves are fantastic and service is top-notch. I bought some of the Very Berry Cherry preserves in Charlottetown airport by my gate. Since I had already passed security, I assumed it wouldn't be a problem at my connection. Unfortunately, I had to go through security again in Toronto before returning to the US, and the preserves were confiscated. I emailed the company to see if I could buy the preserves anywhere in the US, and the owner personally replied and sent a replacement! So happy that my wife and I were able to enjoy the preserves after all!

Ramy Y.

Yelp
Wasn't expecting much when I came here. Started with the service; attentive friendly and very professional. Then came the meal... humble presentation but the taste was outstanding, and that's not said lightly. Def will recommend and visit again when in town.

Yelp
We went on a tour and our guide was raving about the restaurant that was connected to the preserve store. He recommended a number of items include the potato pie and fish cakes and spoke highly that all the items were fresh and local. I decided to have the lobster sandwich on whole wheat bread for about $13. It was very tasty and there was lots of lobster but not overwhelmed with mayo. It came with potato salad which was very tasty. I only wish it was more of it but that also allowed me to try some dessert. My husband ordered the raspberry cheesecake pie and I had a few bites. It was a bit sour but overall very good. The atmosphere is friendly as are the servers. It's a busy place but they provide a good meal and service. There is also a large selection of teas so a great place for tea lovers.

Liz M.

Yelp
I love the Preserve shop! There's an entire corner filled with jam, salsa, curds, and teas to try. Everything tastes fresh because it's created locally; a window shows the small factory where, if you're lucky, you'll get to see a few ladies cooking preserves. The curds seem to be a head above the rest, but I've never tasted a bad sample. The restaurant is only open May through October, and we enjoyed it. The first thing we noticed were the waterfront views. The menu isn't very diverse, but the seafood is fresh. The desserts were a highlight -- I've never had a better Lemon Meringue Pie. It's on the pricier side, but it's definitely worth the experience.
