Prince George Wharf is a lively and scenic spot, especially when the cruise ships are docked. The view of the ocean is beautiful, and there are plenty of shops and local vendors nearby. It’s a great place to take a stroll, enjoy the sea breeze, and get a feel for Nassau’s energy.

A very nice pier, crowded and touristy. Unfortunately while we were there in May 2025 there was an oil slick in the bay, and nobody seemed to care.

Prince George Wharf in Nassau is vibrant and full of energy. The harbor is bustling with cruise ships, local shops, and colorful markets. The water is stunningly blue, and the area feels lively and welcoming. It’s a perfect spot to explore Bahamian culture, grab local food, and enjoy ocean views.

Built for tourists and is fenced off with security away from the street. You can leave but it gets hectic. The shops are typical touristy shops but they are a lot less pushy than if you went to the Straw Market. For those who have been Starbucks deprived your in luck there’s on in this area!

Detailed self guided walking tour below. It’s beautiful now. Many awesome kiosks inside the port. Amazingly redesigned from what it was. For the softer people who have a hard time dealing with high pressure sales techniques this is probably a dream come true. Feels extremely safe, clean and organized. The amphitheater and dock area was super pretty. Step outside and across the street to the Straw market for much better deals & options on souvenirs and drinks as well as a liquor store. I felt safe everywhere I went in this port area, walked to the queens steps, took the neighborhood route towards the port area, a right down a cool set of steps then stopped at the governors mansion for a pic,, then to the Pirate museum, then to Junkanoo beach, then the liquor store, then straw market then back to the port and had zero issues. Starting location - The Bahamas Museum of Junkanoo Facing the port (not street side) - (Leave time 9:45) - 3MH5+JR Nassau, The Bahamas - A few feet from (Nassau Bahamas Cruise Terminal) Stop 1. May be closed but it’s otw to Queens Steps- (8 min walk - 9:55am) at Bahamas Historical Society Museum - $5 Fee (Approx. 30 min stay) Leave 10:30am https://maps.app.goo.gl/xaRUatCnax4earSk6 - 3MG6+FV Nassau, The Bahamas Bathrooms - Assumed Stop 2. (9 min walk - 3:15pm) at Nassau Straw Market for shopping. (Approx. 20 min stay) Leave 3:35 3MH4+8J9, Bay St, Nassau, Bahamas Bathrooms - Yes Stop 6. (5 min walk - 3:40pm at Nassau Bahamas Cruise Port for exploring, snacks, drinks, & shopping. (Approx. 30 min stay) Boarding 4:15 3MH5+R9 Nassau, The Bahamas Bathrooms - Yes This was the tour I made but dyor. I had an amazing time. See if your cell company has an international daily plan so you have cell service there or create route on Google maps & print it. Worked perfect for me for $10 Recommendations - Have a good breakfast. Bring ID & Sea Pass & bring a bag with a small umbrella, towels, cash, good walking shoes or bandaids for potential blisters, water.

Day and Night! The old cruise ship wharf did not reflect the beauty of the Bahamas. This rebuild is spectacular, an absolutely stunning entry to New Providence Island. The colours, the diversity of the vendors and services and quite frankly the vibrant atmosphere make this a must visit, not only for cruise ship passengers but Bahamians and visitors alike.

The refresh of the Nassau cruise port did improve it greatly from a comfort standpoint with coverings on many of the walkways leading from the ships and wider paths and a safer feel where the vendors are. However that doesn’t change why many folks don’t get off the ships - there really isn’t anything interesting to do here that can’t be found in better and cheaper forms in any other cruise stop.

Cool spot for the tourists to see when they get off the boat. There's stores with clothes and souvenirs, restaurants to order food at, and bars. Wish there were more benches for seating. Everything is overpriced at American prices. Would recommend getting a car or moped and going further into the island into the less touristy areas if you want to see how the locals actually live and get the more reasonable prices.
