Fort is not very accessible; you need to cross the river from Churchill, MB to get here. Lots of original cannon (from 1700's). Many other sites had their cannon melted down in the world wars - this site was too remote. Be careful - thar be Polar bears!

All I gotta say... is that if I was a Britt... that would not be the Fort I'd want to be stationed at. Yikes!

What an amazing story. Also we were fortunate enough to see a polar bear as we left the fort with our guide.

I came here in 2010, and we saw a beluga whale migration on the way to the fort on the zodiak. The park Rangers showed me they use shotguns loaded with "bear bangers" and they were really friendly people. I look forward to visiting again, even since gypsies burnt down, I love Churchill.
