Prince of Wales Hotel

I don’t normally write reviews, but I felt compelled to leave one because we were so impressed. The curry of the day was absolutely delicious — full of flavour, beautifully cooked, and served with soft naan, rice, and raita. The beef schnitzel with gravy, chips, and salad was also excellent. The menu had so many great options we were spoiled for choice, and there were loads of beers and wines available by the glass. A genuinely great pub meal with friendly service.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Prince of Wales Hotel! From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive. The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, offering all the comforts I needed for a relaxing stay. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the amenities provided exceeded my expectations. The hotel’s location was perfect—close to key attractions yet peaceful enough to unwind at the end of the day. I also enjoyed the delicious dinner options and the overall ambiance of the property. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area!

Great spot. 5 minutes walk down to Salamanca markets. Had 1 meal there and it was fantastic. Best chowder we found in Tasmania. Also across the road from the best little bakery. We went there each morning. Would definitely recommend. Great location. . 🍺

Great location in Battery Point. The rooms are recently renovated so present really well. Nice curtains that block out the early morning light was a bonus as were the windows you could open. Manager not really engaged in any level of conversation/service.  Not major - other staff were great.

This place is a must to visit whilst in Hobart. The food was amazing; tasty, delicious and everything in between. The prices were reasonable and the food was made to perfection. Couldn't fault this place one bit. Highly recommend

We had a truly fantastic stay at the Prince of Wales Hotel in Hobart. The location is absolutely perfect, we could easily walk to the city centre and were right on the doorstep of the Salamanca Market, which was ideal for our weekend trip. The food at the hotel restaurant was outstanding; every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. When we did encounter a minor issue with our room, the staff handled it swiftly and with utmost professionalism. That level of attentive customer service truly stood out. Plus, having private parking was a huge bonus! Highly, highly recommended for a stay in Hobart.

We had an absolutely fantastic time wasting time at this hotel. The service, atmosphere & food were all beyond fantastic - in the beautiful town of Battery Point. We can’t recommend more as a place to stay or if you’re needing a bite to eat.

The BEST SEAFOOD CHOWDER I've ever had .Tried most of what's on offer in Hobart including the famous Drunken Admiral, but nothing comes close to the Prince of Wales. Highly recommended if you are a Seafood lover like me. $22. Unbeatable.....

I loved the hotel. The room was simple but clean. The staff were exceptional. The food was ok. Large portions, real pub food. The drinks were pub prices, not bistro prices. We dicked them around with the booking but they were super accommodating. I have a problem with fried everything. Grilled calamari would have been great. If you have a problem with farmed seafood, check first. I do; if I am by the water I want seafood fresh out of the sea.

Good service but terrible food. I ordered a risotto, which was gluey and tasted like it came out of a packet. I think there was wheat thickener in it too. I could have made it better myself. My friend's steaks were chewy and fatty - not what you'd expect for $30! Never eating here again
