We've stayed here 3 times now. It's good value for money. Excellent location for walking into town. I was quite annoyed on this visit though - power & hot water turned off without any prior warning. Others were offered a shower in a spare room. No one asked if we may have perishables in the fridge. No one gave any update to when things would be fixed - off all day. It wouldn't have taken much effort.

Due to a filthy room, years of dust under the bed, holes and cracks and evidence of black mould being cleaned up not very well. Power plug for tv upside down obviously not put in by an electrician. My lungs were so bad I could barely breathe and used so much Ventolin. This was single accommodation in the coach house. I left after three days and have contacted my bank and they will be in touch.I would like a refund for the two days as I couldn't stay any longer. Receptionist came and vacuumed the filth under the bed. She was very pleasant. Avoid room 22.....or anything in that section. Very disappointed

Our room was in the coach house. Sounds alot fancier than it was! We lasted about 2 hours before finding alternative accomodation. The coach house is basically used as a dumping ground with items like a hoovers dumped outside the end room where we were.. The room was unclean (cob webs, hair in the shower drain), windows were single glazed (so aircraft noise was very loud) and the toilet was impossible to sit on as the wall was in the way. |staff on the desk were inexperienced so we didn't bother attempting to ask for a refund. Thank goodness we found somewhere else!

Booked 5 nights, had to get out after a couple. Room 22 coach section. Within an hour pulled bed out so I could lie on my right side to watch TV as I have hip problems. I took photo to show manager and he said he would send a cleaner over. No one came, went back and the lovely receptionist vacuumed it.Filth on carpet was years of dirt. Evidence of black mould which someone has tried to clean from walls, holes in the wall, TV electrical point obviously put in by handyman as I couldn't get the TV to work, receptionist again tried to fix this. Ended up getting manager and after a while he worked out the unit had been put in upside down, Toilet that close that your knees hit the wall and you can barely get out of the shower due to the toilet. I lived on my Ventolin puffer. I have contacted my bank re dispute as I paid for five nights so would like a refund. Breakfast cereal, toast and tinned fruit was good as was the coffee machine but definitely did not warrant breathing in dangerous stuff

A quiet place to stay. I had a room in the coach house. Check in had a few issues due to a new computer system, and it took a few phone calls to get someone to come and check me in! Overall, had a good stay here however.

Our family stayed in a family room on a Saturday night. The building is lovely and the room had everything we needed. Comfortable and clean, good value for money. Breakfast is super basic - the vending machine was helpful. Sometimes when you flush the toilet it makes a LOUD pipe banging sound. So we made sure not to flush overnight. If you're on the lower level, bring your earplugs because wow does noise carry. The room above us was bang! bang! bang! (like elephants stomping on the floor) until maybe 2.30am. Also sounded like we were unwilling participants in a p**n movie. Thankfully they must have passed out around 2.30. Gross. I'm kicking myself that I didn't call to complain - that's on me.

BEWARE! Black mould! Disgusting rooms and service. After one day my breathing was so bad I told them I was checking out early. No refund or compensation offered. I then sent two emails, none of which were responded to, so now I will follow up with the appropriate authorities. Disgraceful place. Dirty everywhere, run down and NOTHING like the photos. You couldn't eveb sit on the toilet without your legs touching the wall! So horrible!

Yelp
For North Adelaide, this is a good price to pay for a motel. It's a old style hotel, which was constructed in 1913 as a private residence. I've stayed in this motel once or twice, and didn't think the experience was all that bad. It's in a good suburb but it's away from the hustle and bustle of O'Connell St, although it's only a short walk away so you're not missing out on all the good places to go for breakfast or dinner. So if you're looking for budget accommodation in a great suburb, then this is probably the first place you'd want to look.
