Privacy & Safety Problems, Disrespectful Staff
We felt violated, unsafe, and disrespected--we had to leave. When we got to the room there were perverts peering in the window from just a few feet away, and a crowd of homeless vagrants fighting and shouting late into the night, past 2:00 a.m.--they had taken over a cemetery adjacent to the hotel. They kept coming up to the window and looking in, posing a serious privacy and safety concern. We notified the night staff but they were unhelpful and dismissive of our concerns, telling us that "it's not a big deal" and that we should "just close the blinds." We called three times to express concern, and each time we were dismissed out of hand. The night staff claimed that they had never received such complaints, though we have since found recent reviews with similar safety and noise concerns. We requested a different room but none was available, so we found last-minute accommodations elsewhere (in the middle of the night), moved out, and notified the staff that we would require a refund, also sending an email to the management. The general manager was likewise disrespectful and dismissive--she did not respond to us for several days, and she then made multiple, wishy-washy false claims as rationale for denying the refund. We then contacted the owners of the hotel, who ultimately directed the general manager to issue a partial refund, only for one night, still charging us for two unused nights. Disrespectful staff, unsafe rooms. Would not recommend.
