We visited a whole bunch of vegan/vegetarian restaurants during our week in Lisbon, but this one turned out to be both mine and my partners favourite! The place itself so small and cozy and the staff ever so friendly. And the food! Everything we tried here was just perfectly composed and exciting. And 100 % vegan!

This delicious vegan place serves great food on a rotating menu. We ate there three times during our Lisbon visit and found every meal delicious! What a terrific team!

Not many items on the menu, it is basic and simple. It's making it faster to decide and we can guess that at least everything would be freshly made. Perhaps it's little pricey for Lisbon but nothing too crazy. The vegan lasagna was good and the cake too, but not exceptional.

Calm atmosphere, average prices and portion size. There are few options for mains and starters, one soup. You can get glass of house vine for € 1,80. Food was served very quick. And we found variety of sides on plates.

Princesa do Castelo is a vegan spot in the middle of the old town with a changing menu. The food was so tasty and original - in the best way. We really liked the psychedelic interior too. Best vegan lasagna we ever had.

Google
Lovely food, lemonade is freshly made. With or without sugar. We had lunch here, shared the food. It was really nice. Bruscetta, potatoes, paani poori and an omelette. All vegan. We were really full and satisfied afterwards 🥰

Google
It is a unique vegan place. All dishes taste authentic healthy and free of any junk or unhealthy ingredients. The place is relatively small and it looks like it is at the same time a restaurants and the place to hang out for the owners and their friends. Someone might like it someone not. The waitress did not care to return the change after we paid. Food was, however, of a good quality.

Lovely little vegan restaurant among the nearby sea of tourist traps. Tasty seasonal food, made to order. We had the vegan caldeirada and it was lovely. Limited menu but all vegan. Lovely attentive staff.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Princesa do Castelo is a hole-in-the-wall vegan restaurant along one of the roads where tram 24 runs through the Alfama district. I was intrigued by the presence of a vegan restaurant in Lisbon, but it seems like vegan and vegetarian restaurants are plentiful here. The menu is just as tiny as the restaurant. There are 2 main dishes and a few desserts and starters. I ordered the daily dish, which was called Brunch. It included vegan cheese on toast, vegan sausages, a slice of sun-dried tomato, roasted beets on top of potatoes, and oats with strawberries and bananas. Elements of the dish were both a hit and a miss. As a non-vegan, the individual components were very good attempts at replicating the real thing. First, the cheese had the right texture. It had a very light and subtle flavor that I enjoyed. The vegan sausages were too dry on the inside. The beets and potatoes were particularly good, but I'm a bit biased as I enjoy beets in general. The oats in soy milk was tasty. There was a subtle sweetness to it. Overall, the food was good and a good value for €13.

Yelp
My sister and I ate here twice during our short 4-day trip in Lisbon. The food was excellent both times. We got the vegetable curry twice, as well as a quinoa salad, a tofu scramble, a carob cake, and some juice. Out of all of these, the quinoa salad was my favorite. But even the warm curry was delicious on a hot day! The carob cake was a bit dry and crumbly tasting, though -- I think I can bake a better one myself. There was quite a rush for the cheesecake, so I wonder if that would have been better? Sadly they were sold out once we wanted dessert. Service was a bit slow and they don't open before noon, but that's fine when you are on vacation :) As others have mentioned, the space is small, so going here with a large group is probably not advisable. I liked that their food menu was hand-written. It sounds like they just make up the menu as they go, and include whatever dishes they can make with the produce they have available that day. Overall, I very much enjoyed eating here -- it was nice to just get some good old vegetables among all the meat offerings of Portugal!

Yelp
Great cosy setting with incredible food. 100% vegan. My favorites were batata appetizer and pumpkin daal. The gluten- free cheesecake was great too!

Yelp
Go here for: Clean buddha-ish bowls + pastel de Belém. This is the little hippie-hipster-veg joint of the city. A cute kitchen is nestled at the end of the restaurant, and it hosts a few different cooks who like to mix it up depending on their moods. So, one day you could have a curry, another day a Korean style dish. It's wonderful and warming, but not necessarily bountiful in portion. Perhaps the most noteworthy thing here is that you can get a vegan pastel de Belem. I had been tortured by these entirely un-vegan (eggs! milk! butter!) pastries for days. They are everywhere and famous and everyone asks you if you've tried them and you have to explain that you don't eat animals and/or their fluids, and yadda yadda. Well, I finally got one without all the animal products here, and it was pretty good!

Yelp
I'm not vegan or vegetarian, but I've eaten here twice and the fusion of foods and flavors is incredible! The food is fantastic, the space is comfortable and the service is excellent. Nandan is an amazing chef and host.

Yelp
Okay choice for vegetarian food.... the service is good, but there honestly is not a great selection to choose from. The menu changes daily and there are only two entree choices.... and by the time we got there (8:30 pm) one of them had been sold out. And, of course that was the veggie curry that I wanted to order. I ended up with a "Summer Salad" ..... greens and tomatoes and cucumbers and peppers and olives and black beans and corn with a light dressing. It was pretty to look at, and certainly good enough to finish.... but should have been served with some bread. It was fresh enough and tasty enough.... and probably quite healthy, but certainly not good enough to ever seek out again.

Yelp
Definitely a hole in the wall but worth going to. Affordable and delicious. Good portions. I got a veggie burger, coffee and vegan nata for 15.5 euro. That may be more than I'd spend somewhere else but the quality of food was worth it and the service was excellent. Would highly recommend! Just be sure to leave cash.

Yelp
Best vege meal in all of Lisbon thus far! 2 daily specials. We shared both and they were flavorful and tasty to the last drop. Sangria was super. Enjoy!

Yelp
We arrived at the odd hour of 4 PM and they were out of what we wanted to order, nonetheless the second tier of our favorites were so good - we finally found awesome food in Lisbon. The black bean/beetroot burger, the summer salad, and the hummus with tortilla chips were delicious. We also got fresh juices and were not disappointed. I could not understand why they chose American music instead of some authentic Portuguese music.

Yelp
Location: After so much walking, I lost track of where I was. Maybe be Graça... maybe Alfama? The place: Very small and cozy spot with just a few tables. They've got exactly one table outside! The goods: I had the vegetable curry with rice and it was great. It wasn't hot enough (it was very lukewarm) but the curry, though mild, was flavorful. The dish was filling without being heavy. I also ordered their ice tea and it was fantastic. Everything is home-made, and the menu is short. Service: Good! Price point: Under 10€ This is a great spot if you're vegetarian or simply looking for a healthy option.

Yelp
This tiny cafe is in tourist central, but they offer decent vegan food reasonably priced. The highlights are the daily lunch special and a quite indulgent Sunday brunch. Service is friendly although they can be a little rigid (on Sundays you can only order Sunday brunch, nothing else).

Rusty S.

Yelp
Excellent and creative clean food. A refreshing change from the heavy and meat intensive food of Lisbon. Made with care from a small menu. Very friendly. Top tip. Take the outside seat. Lovely to people watch.

Yelp
This place has fresh eats, and super delicious. I ordered there avocado/apple soup and their vegan veggie lasagna. Super delicious!

Julia L.

Yelp
Very cozy place. Decoration is exotic. I ate nachos with hummus which was very delicious. Smoothie was fresh! Yummu! Easy going place with english speaking staff! Definetly recommended!

Nicole G.

Yelp
Delicious, fresh vegan food! I highly recommend the smoothies if you don't require an ice-cold drink. The food was not quick, but the employees all were so friendly.

Eru S.

Yelp
Awesome! We were so happy to find a vegeterian/vegan restaurant in the first place, and we were so happy about the experience. The staff is the friendliest on earth. They have a rotating menu. We ordered nachos as a starter and one main, and this was sufficient. Very simple food, but also very tasty. I highly recommend going there, because it's not too expensive and you will have a nice evening with nice food. Thank you!

Rhoena J.

Yelp
Good food and service. Restaurant has an off the beaten path vibe with heart, soul, and art flare. Food made fresh and the various spices used smells amazing!

Auddi L.

Yelp
So delicious! Already eaten here twice and have only been in Lisbon for three days. Coming from Berkeley, we've been missing the veggies from our diet. Innovative vegan dishes with a Portuguese touch. Delicious dishes, friendly waitstaff and chill vibe. Highly recommended!!! Open a spot in Berkeley!!!

Matt T.

Yelp
If you want some vegetables to balance out all the meat and fish that's around Lisbon, come here. Not only is the food great, the waitstaff is friendly, English speaking, and very helpful. My wife and I have been here twice so far, trying new dishes each time. The first meal we had was a delicious mix of brown rice, refried lentils and mango chutney, mixed salad, and beet root soup. Our second meal was a pleasant Portuguese inspired Bras, which is normally a codfish (bacalao) but this one with tofu, cilantro, carrots, potato, olives, and cauliflower. (YUM). They have an extensive drink menu with interesting cocktails and fruits/veggie juice. Eat here, relax with the calm music, and get to know chef Nandan who is actually Indian-born but now living in Europe. Lastly, try the dessert. With cakes made of carob or beet root on a plate with seasonal fruits, you can't go wrong! Five stars!

Yelp
I really enjoyed this small vegan restaurant. It is tucked into the winding streets around the São Jorge Castle and is a perfect place to eat before or after your visit to the castle. The food was delicious and the ambiance was cute & cozy. The apple strudel dessert was amazing! Service was good. This is definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
My pregnant wife was sooo happy to finally find a vegetarian place in Portugal :) Good food, good service and nice location. Small but interesting menu. Not suitable for big groups. Most dishes are a bit spicy, we could highly recommend the nachos!

Lisa C.

Yelp
Really delicious, fresh food and amazing selection of juices& smoothies! the banana cake was great too, and the restaurant is decorated really comfortably, 10/10 would recommend :)

Markus K.

Yelp
Nice and welcoming! Good vegan begel burger and Great Soymilk coffee :) Great location in the middle of Lisbon! Friendly staff and free wifi.

Yelp
Delicious food and exceedingly friendly service. The food menu itself didn't have a large number of items, but everything was either vegan or vegetarian, and was well prepared. The seating makes it convenient to talk to your neighbors (long tables with many seats). The owner worked there (serving food, inviting guests in, chit-chatting) and was very personable.
