Gorgeous campus for a peaceful stroll. A few gentle hills and plenty of beauty all around. If you are visiting and want to explore, you cannot go wrong with an aimless meander. Many excellent food and shopping choices in town. Definitely one of the most beautiful American college campuses.

Google
Really beautiful campus. I stopped by here and don't regret anything. I loved walking around and seeing all the different buildings and dorms. It was actually gorgeous. There is a gift shop as well. I recommend !

Google
It's beautiful!! It's amazing to walk around the campus. It has a very Hogwarts magical vibe. The buildings, the built and everything about this place has a history (the good and the bad). It almost feels like having a connection with that history while you walk through this place.

Google
Princeton University is a private Ivy League university located in Princeton, New Jersey. It was founded in 1746 as the College of New Jersey and is one of the oldest in the U.S. Princeton is ranked among the top universities in the world, and is best known for its rigorous academics, prestigious alumni network, and of course, as its well proclaimed beautiful campus. Princeton offers a broad range of academic programs, with majors ranging from humanities, social sciences, economics, and engineering. Its campus is absolutely beautiful. It consists of various large extensive buildings and structures all throughout the walking area. It is very much common to see students alike and tourists taking photos of such aforementioned structures because of their voluminous space and architecture. Princeton's undergraduate curriculum is based on a liberal arts foundation, requiring students to take courses in a variety of disciplines. As stated on their respective website: 4 years of English 4 years of Mathematics 4 years of one foreign language 2 Years of Laboratory science 2 Years of History Princeton also offers a variety of financial aid programs to help students make college affordable. Not only that, but undergraduates also have the opportunity to conduct independent research, often under the mentorship of Princeton's world-renowned faculty. All in all, Princeton University is a world-class institution that offers students the opportunity to receive a rigorous education and learn from some of the best minds in the world. It is a community where students can grow and thrive, and make lifelong friends from all over the world in an environment where young minds are constantly being challenged and older minds are seeking to serve and teach their years' worth of knowledge. If you are a high school student who is interested in attending Princeton, you should start planning early. Princeton has a very competitive admissions process, and it is important to have strong grades, and extracurricular activities in progress while you still have time. In addition to that, I definitely recommend visiting the campus and talking to current students to learn more about the university, student life, and its unique culture it portrays.

Google
This is a very old school with charm and beautiful architecture. I just walked through the campus, but it was quite lovely. I cannot attest to the education, but from what the school has posted everywhere, it seemed like a very “where are your papers?” university, which is quite something. I will not doc any stars because of it, but I was not allowed in the university chapel because of it (only students, faculty, or staff allowed)- I know it’s a private school, but I thought these places were supposed to be open to all, like their predecessors in England like Cambridge or Oxford.

Google
Such a beautiful campus. This is a campus that one would love to study, not only for its academic reasons but just being in the atmosphere surrounding the campus. Great old buildings and greenery.

R C.

Google
Princeton clearly has the most lovely campus of the Ivy League. Old style buildings meet leaf green spacious campus with lots of fall colors. Wide walkways and ramps everywhere make this an accessibility dream and there’s still a decent amount of room to social distance. A lot of buildings require you to be a student to enter and the entire campus requires face masks for COVID19. The squirrel population seems healthy but not over stocked.

Yelp
A fun way to spend a day! The campus is beautiful with lots of grassy areas and trees. Lots of benches and Adirondack chairs around the campus to sit and relax. Behind the campus is a lake you can walk around. The buildings are amazing-gothic architecture, ivy covered halls and modern architectural all mixed in. It's a great place to read a book, journal or have a picnic.

Yelp
Walking through the Princeton University campus was so enjoyable. Seeing the students, the architecture, and the winding walkways that take you from breathtaking buildings/structures/artwork/statues, was amazing. You definitely have to do the same and enjoy your intake of history, top-notch education surrounding you, and pristine architecture. Don't forget to take time to read all of the writings throughout the grounds and the explanation of each statue and artwork.

Yelp
Beautiful campus!! As a lover of architectural structures, Princeton's campus is filled with wonder for the eyes. I particularly love the way everything is carefully spaced out. You can easily peruse the campus grounds without feeling as if everyone or everything is stacked on top of one another. It's also a people-watching paradise. Everyone in their own world walking or sitting, and it's somehow still serene. Also, how cool is it that there's a WaWa location on the premises as well as a train station/stop directly onto campus. Very impressive and I imagine convenient for students/staff.

Yelp
Princeton University has a beautiful campus that's perfect for exploring in any season. The architecture alone is stunning and something anyone can appreciate. Situated right along the main street area in town, this is a great place to go for a walk and explore. You may even find an abandoned dinosaur costume like I did!

Yelp
The girlfriend and I went on a guided walking tour of the campus collections with an Art Museum guide and discovered a variety of artworks by modern and contemporary sculptors, from Sol LeWitt to Maya Lin. The tour started at Ai Weiwei's Circle of Animals/Zodiac Heads behind The Dinky Bar. All of the Chinese Zodiac heads are here represented, and it is a marvelous spot to start at while you peruse the campus. As I walked around the campus it was apparently move in day so we saw a plethora of fancy cars dropping off the students. As I witnessed this I certainly felt a sense of nostalgia as it has been approx twenty years since I attended my Alma Mater of Penn State University. It was a strange feeling as expectations are so high for every student at Princeton University I can imagine. The area of Princeton is exceptionally beautiful and probably not to far off of some peoples version of heaven on earth. I do not have kids and do not plan on having them but if you are a parent I highly recommend you take your kid here for a visit and hopefully it will inspire them that if you try really hard in school the possibilities can be limitless. As always people SYOY!!! Pro-Tip : Free tours like the one I described in my review are posted with dates and times on the calendar section of Princeton University's Art Museum website online.

Yelp
I'm amused at the thought of reviewing Princeton University. I didn't go there. I went to NYU at a time where you could get in if you were breathing.Years ago I went to an Elvis Costello concert somewhere on the campus. I've been a habitué of the art museum for years. It's closed now so they can put up an addition which will probably be ugly and filled with ideologically sound au Courant junk . That's what museums do now. Art who cares?Everything is politics. The campus is pretty but wouldn't it be better if the old buildings were torn down - too English pseudo Oxford. Wouldn't concrete slabs and stained with metal rust be better?(yes this is tongue in cheek ).
google avatar

Yelp
Princeton University has one of the prettiest campuses in the United States. Buildings in the heart of the campus are excellent examples of Collegiate Gothic Architecture. I highly recommend a campus tour, either self-guided or with a group. The oldest building on campus is Nassau Hall, located on the northern edge of the main campus facing Nassau Street. It has the distinction of having been Capitol of the United States in 1783. On the southern edge is beautiful Lake Carnegie.

Yelp
CRAIG HOCKENBERRY SUPERINTENDENT I visited Princeton University for the second time in my life and it was an amazing place. I walked the entire campus stopped at a few bars and snapped many photos. The most incredible University in The United States. CRAIG HOCKENBERRY

Yelp
Of course we had to come walk around and see Princeton. Whole time my mom worried we were trespassing lol. Luckily we eventually saw some other families walking around. Of course walking around here made my only wish more my boy will go here one day (fingers crossed) he's only 4 btw lol. He was technically 3 when we were here. Just what a gorgeous place and especially in the fall.
google avatar

Yelp
A very beautiful campus! I took my baby there to see it and hopefully one day he will attend there! The students seemed very friendly and the neighborhood was safe and many sidewalks.

Yelp
I attended the state university (Go Rutgers!) down the road, but I love coming to Princeton. Beautiful architecture and fun little downtown. Can also walk the canal and enjoy the waterways with crew rowing. Nice local escape for outdoor enjoyment
google avatar

Yelp
This campus is so nice. I was just in the area and TripAdvisor + friends said to check it out. I walked all over and it is really airy and clean. The grounds and buildings are well taken care of. I can see why people come to admire the architecture. If you're walking around try to find the random sculptures all around, I saw the sculptures of the animals in the Chinese zodiac which was neat.

Yelp
Damn my shameful indifference to the gothic beauty of Princeton University. Having lived here for nearly twenty years, roaming around Nassau Street and Palmer Square more times than I can count, I have never really taken notice of the history and magnificent architecture right under my nose. Walk east on Nassau Street and take a quick right under FitzRandolph Gate and watch a century or two disappear as you stare at iconic Nassau Hall. Wander left under an arch or two where the ghosts of the past are etched on every wall and you'll find a quaintly named Princeton Chapel doing its best impression of a Cathedral. History, artwork and a stone tiger or two are everywhere under a bucolic green canopy that will let you forget for a time that the retail and pedestrian madness of everyday lurks close by. Roaming the PU campus is certainly an hour or two that you will not regret spending or finding. Walk on.

Yelp
This review is in regards to its reputation and OMG - how beautiful the campus is. It is truly breathtaking.... EVERY single time I drive past it. It is the epitome of an Ivy School. It's prestige oozes from the pores of its walls. Parking sucks in the area but if you are able to find street meter parking and you have some time.. just strolls around the grounds. It's so lovely . Even down my the river- it's lovely to see people rowing.

Yelp
This past weekend was my first time visiting the campus of Princeton University. The campus is beautiful. Historic relics everywhere you turn. I came to visit with my fiance and her nephew during the JSA summer program the campus had hosted for them and was able to see their graduation ceremony in one of the rooms in McCosh 50? This place wasn't easy to find using Google maps so eventually I had to ask one of the locals which and consult the campus map. Even when we were right up at the building itself, there was no indication we were actually at the right location. That's one of my pet peeves... when things aren't labeled. But oh well, I'm not here to talk about that. Any who, the room in McCosh was extravagant. I could hardly pay attention to the ceremony because I was amazed by the architecture. The desks seemed really old as if they had been there for years. Made out of really good wood. The kind of wood that used to last for decades because it was so tough. The squeaks in the floor, the decor, old furniture, etc. I was taken aghast by it all. I am not sure if I will ever stop by this campus again any time soon, but I will always remember where I stood and the images of wonderful and historic architecture that I had seen. The drive down that long road right as you enter onto campus must look amazing in the fall when the leaves turn. The only downside is that we left and my fiance forgot to grab a t-shirt, but the school store might have been closed anyway. One thing I never got from my undergraduate experience is the campus feel of history and historic artifacts. My school is newer and more modern which isn't nearly as cool. Princeton has the type of campus I wish I had attended. Oh well, maybe my kids or future nephew will :)

Yelp
The campus of Princeton University is astonishingly beautiful and historical. You would feel familiar with it's architecture since there are lots of movie scene here.

Yelp
Named after the late musician Prince, whose only wish in life was to have a University named after him. The main thoroughfare on campus is Alphabet St, and while students work hard during the day, at night they scream "Let's Go Crazy!" Then they pass out from excessive alcohol consumption, and only wake up When Doves Cry. When you graduate from Princeton, you do so wearing a Raspberry Beret. I've visited every Ivy League school, and Princeton is one of the prettiest. It reminds me a little bit of Oxford, my hometown and school, except for all the bizarre amounts of Ivy growing all over the walls of these old buildings (which really don't look anywhere near as old as the ones back home). I think, maybe, just maybe, that might be why they call it the Ivy League. A lot of people don't realize that Princeton is really a sort of posh college-centric oriented suburb of Trenton, NJ, an industrial town that itself is close to a massive urban area - Philly. You could even say Princeton is the most famous college in the Philly area, if you wanted to get some angry reactions but be sort-of correct. There's a lot of "new stuff" and modern buildings on campus that belies the tradition and history, but if you wander around the older buildings, it's a truly amazing experience.
google avatar

Dan R.

Yelp
(campus only) There really is ivy growing on the exterior walls of the buildings. Simply put, this is one beautiful campus. The architecture, and design, and spectacular buildings literally stopped me in my tracks as I took in the grandeur of what I was looking at. Lots of stone, lots of slate, lots of Gothic arches, lots of incredibly ornate windows, plenty of sculptures and statues carved into the walls everywhere you look. What a beautiful campus.

Yelp
I'm a harvard man, but i did some teaching up here today. They're a fine university. There's no law school, but they have a theology school. Oh well. There's no med school, but they have a Woodrow Wilson School, whatever that is. There's no Harvard Yard, but there is "Old Nassau," and Princetonians drink aplenty. The town is wealthy. The shops are prosperous. It's the very picture of a college. A fine little college, Princeton is.

Yelp
Campus tour of Princeton was exceptional and worth taking. This is a wonderful institution and beautiful campus.
google avatar

Pasquale R.

Yelp
Although I did not attend Princeton, I love visiting the campus and just walking around. The history is amazing. The architecture is so nice to look at. It's iconic. During the fall, it's just a really nice spot for a stroll. You can also allow your little ones to just roam around safely (keep on an eye on them). Enjoy!

Yelp
It was good paling out my buds down at the local pub. Calculus was easy and I finished college in 1 year. The dean said I was the smartest person ever smarter than professor fondue from happy days. I'm glad I got into princeton oxford was my fall back and Harvard at the bare minimum.

Yelp
"amazing campus... historical building. go for the museum." it was a beautiful to walk around the campus. The building architecture is marvelous. the campus is huge. Princeton museum is great to see and so is its Library. Good time spent.
google avatar

GT M.

Yelp
This has been a world-famous Ivy League University. 5/5 stars for the charming campus, in which I walked countless time to enjoy the free Princeton Art museum. It was located conveniently a short walk from Princeton downtown. You can park on the street or the affordable private parking nearby.

Yelp
The # 1 university in the USA. $23 billion endowment. Founded in 1746. 11 Nobel Laureates. 4 Pulitzers. 1 Pulitzer Citation. Scientists, Astronauts, Business Leaders, Artists, Journalists, Politicians. The embodiment of scholarship, if not entitlement. Walking among the halls, chapels and quads, at once haunting and exhilarating. The deep silence. Distant laugh. Trees and stone walls that have absorbed more knowledge than the rest of us.

Thus S.

Yelp
Back for major reunion. More beautiful than ever. Envy the undergrads. New buildings, restored old ones. Firestone Library better than ever.... Now, you only have to be admitted!

Yelp
One of my favorite places to be on my downtime :) Simply beautiful architecture and the whole ambiance is telaxing and soothing.
google avatar

Esme H.

Yelp
As usual, as I remember my time there back in the 90's still in pristine condition. Beautifully kept with all the buildings in great shape. Younger crowd, still beautiful weddings on property. Not much has changed at all. Peaceful, quiet and beautiful. Liberal as all hell too. Calm down.
google avatar

Angie L.

Yelp
A few things to note in bulletpoint form: -There's a free shuttle to transport you around campus -Princeton, NJ is relatively enclosed from its surroundings -The campus itself seems SUPER safe, like some kind of insulated suburbia -Slightly windy (and confusing) layout -The library is apparently huge -Attend an information session, if only to sit in a wondrously echoey lecture hall -THE ART MUSEUM THOUGH!! What a gem
google avatar

Loryn C.

Yelp
Beautiful campus. Marvelous architecture. Feels like I'm walking around a real life Hogwarts. The people are so brilliant and passionate about their studies and their future endeavors. Has a very nice and energetic city life, filled with new and old fashioned restaurants along with modern, hip retail stores. The rural side of Princeton is very calming and relaxing, which is a nice compliment to the liveliness of the urban setting. I would highly recommend checking out the free Art Museum at the school. There's so many beautiful art pieces there and so much information to learn - perfect for a date. I the fact that there's so much history behind this school and this makes it that much more appealing. Although I hear classes are very competitive, in terms of the grading scale, I would highly recommend attending (the competition would push yourself to do better), if not, then at least visit!
google avatar

Yelp
My son goes to graduate school here. I appreciate how they have taken Covid seriously
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful campus. I go here some weekends to participate in student experiments at the PLESS lab. They are pretty interesting and the students are really friendly. I will have to continue exploring the area but walking around on the campus is really nice. Lots of great scenery here. http://pless.princeton.edu They also have a lab which conducts research studies on perception. It's pretty cool, I did a fMRI study this past week and they give you images of your brain along with a 3D model. The images are pretty cool but I was equally creeped out as well as excited to see them. lol I really love science but how often does one see their own brain??? http://www.princeton.edu/ntblab/ They also have salsa lessons on tuesdays, i've gone to one before. Really fun and very affordable. http://www.princeton.edu/~salsa

Yelp
Princeton has very unprofessional interviewers. My daughter was early and very prepared for her interview and when it came time for her interview, the interviewer hadn't even sent her the zoom sign in. He was late and showed up drenched in sweat and said he was in the middle of a workout. Such a good school should not have such an unprofessional man presenting them at interviews.
google avatar

Jamie M.

Yelp
I was here this past weekend for a photo shoot and it's easy to see why the photographer chose the campus as the location to shoot at. Not only is the campus famous for its Ivy League status, but the buildings have a history all their own. Each building is uniquely different and has amazing architecture from sculptures to arches and courtyards, there's something to see everywhere you walk. The thing I love most is that people don't interfere; they just walk on by or watch silently. The area in general is pretty nice with lots of little local shops and eateries.

Laquisha J.

Yelp
The president and staff are not ethical. Professor Perry was arrested for speeding (67 mph on a 45 mph zone) with a suspended driver's license. The police officers were extremely polite, friendly, and apologetic. The police officer even offered to drive her to Princeton University once she was able to post bail of $130. Instead of being grateful, Professor Perry falsely accused the police officers of being racist. The president of Princeton demanded that the police department perform a thorough investigation of the allegedly racist police officers. Professor Perry had no respect or regards for the consequences to the police officers of her false allegations. The dash cam is available online for everyone to see and judge for themselves. I would never ever send my children to study at Princeton!
google avatar

Dominik D.

Yelp
An excellent place to visit if you or your kids are approaching that age. It has so much in the way of history and architecture. The town around it is pretty as well.
google avatar

Elyse F.

Yelp
My review is of the campus, not the actual academia. Every building has such amazing character. Even the newer building are stylized. Those buildings are found a short walk away from the main part of campus. The carvings, and attention to detail on the older buildings is amazing. It's sad that that kind of artistry is only rarely applied in this day and age. All of the carved animals, people, and shapes are beautiful. A family member acted as our tour guide. How amazing that Nassau Hall, a building that was shot at by the British, while our congress was in session is still being used today. There is both an above and underground library. Make sure to check out the chapel. The vibrant colors of the stained glass windows really pop in the dimly lit space. There is a garden area that may be rented out for weddings. There are various free lectures that are open to the community during the year.
google avatar

Jack F.

Yelp
We checked out the town, and decided to tour around the school. Visitor parking is a bit tricky, as it is on the far end of campus. We hit around on the tennis courts for a bit - really nice tennis facility - before walking around the rest of campus. There are some fantastic gothic buildings here. We walked through the East Pyne building and courtyard, and went into the Chapel - which is really almost more of a cathedral. Since it is the Ivy League, and definitely not a party school, I wasn't too surprised that everything was incredibly quiet here. Lovely campus, although I was disappointed to not get a chance to go inside the historic Nassau Hall. While you are here, be sure to visit the Princeton Cemetery just north of campus - President Cleveland and Aaron Burr's graves are here.
google avatar

Peter P.

Yelp
Great architecture style. They provide free tours daily lead by students who enthusiastic about their place where they studying even too much enthusiastic. I am not sure if that was true about passion to uni. I wish we went inside to one of buildings. Great location - 1 hour train from NYC and lovely shuttle train take you to the middle of nowhere. As one tourist talking to one of students mention: It is too quiet here. Tourist was from Argentina and student from Finland - interesting geographical meeting. Great atmosphere around. Plenty sports activity. There are plenty eateries outside Princeton. One of the most famous alumni was Woodrow Willson. Of course it is beautiful but student have to pay $300000 after graduation in years too come unless you get scholarship. Acceptance rate 6%.
google avatar

Matt E.

Yelp
Not having been a student here and not knowing anyone who was I can't give a true review of this school but what I can do (probably better than those who are always here and may take it for granted) is review the campus. Princeton is one of the most beautiful campuses I have ever seen in terms of its architecture and local community. The school boasts such a vast history and around every corner you'll find one amazing building after another. When I came here to check the place out there was even a full wedding going on in the church on campus. The surrounding streets of town are also very very clean, wholesome, and diverse in the stores and shops that are around. Princeton is definitely a great all American place to check out and visit.
google avatar

Jackie G.

Yelp
Such an absolutely beautiful campus. Wear good walking shoes and just park street side. It's hard for me to find parking garages and you have to be careful of the students and tourists walking around on the streets. That human wildlife can just jump out at you. Get up to Nassau street for some shopping and go down to the little town of Princeton. Lot's of food establishments and a little outdoor eating area. There are plenty of little park statues and historical places to visit, take picks or just to sit and relax. Here's a factoid for you...I found out Einstein lived and died in Princeton. Check the place out sometime.
google avatar

Paul Y.

Yelp
5/5 would continue to attend, and not transfer to stanford because of the winters as I am wont to do recently Best "dang" place of all Sometimes, the amount of entitlement on campus gets to you; still not going to give it a bad rating though
google avatar

Pegah Y.

Yelp
This is the first university I am reviewing on Yelp, and I have to preface this review to say that I am only basing this review on Princeton University's aesthetic value. I am not and never have been a student there and have no experience there besides touring the campus with a few friends a couple of weeks ago. That said, Princeton University is gorgeous! It's the most beautiful campus I have ever visited. It's very representative of East Coast charm. The dorms reminded me of Hogwarts (Harry Potter reference, for those of you who don't know). I love the gothic architecture, through and through. You can spend a very pleasant day walking through the university and then through the town of Princeton.
google avatar

Nora W.

Yelp
I would walk through Princeton the campus on my exercise route. I had to use the bathroom. Very nice Students are nice.
google avatar

Steve M.

Yelp
As an undergrad I had a great experience going to this university. I had many fun times at our local eating club. I hope others will have a great experience at this university.

Y. B.

Yelp
My baby girl graduated today. Yaaay!! I'm super excited for her, but boy will I miss visiting Princeton because this university is so amazing. The beauty of the campus and it's buildings cannot be overstated. My daughter obtained a world-class education here.
google avatar

Mark N.

Yelp
it's like a park for well-heeled intellectuals, or those who aspire to be a member of this caste, great to wander around in Spring.. whenever I feel the need to feel financially inadequate, I wander over to Princeton, and my bank account balance feels even tinier than it did before.. but perhaps with enough time spent breathing the rarified air of this campus once home to Albert Einstein, I will receive some sort of intellectual enrichment to compensate for my apparent need for "financial Viagra".. or I will just take a nap on the lawn amidst the ivy, while future hedge fund managers saunter by glancing at the slumbering proletarian in disgust.

Kristina F.

Yelp
This has to be the most beautiful campus in the world! Went on move -in day a tad bit busy but you can feel the great history and the prestige ! Every future college student young or old should walk into Princeton university, walk the grounds and just marvel at amazing architecture!

Yelp
oh... i don't know that people review schools and colleges too. i'm a student here. it's a pretty decent school. but you know where to look if you are actually looking for college reviews. not on yelp :)
