Highlights

Individually furnished accommodations in a 19th-century hotel offering a simple lobby bar. In the medieval town center, this quaint hotel dating from 1888 is a 4-minute walk from the 13th-century Greyfriars Abbey, and a 3-minute walk from both the Baltic Sea and Ystad train station. The warm, individually furnished rooms come with TVs. Upgraded rooms add living areas with sofabeds, and a 3-bedroom apartment also includes a kitchen, a separate living room, and a balcony with sea views. A breakfast buffet is served in a cozy dining room. There's also a simple lobby bar.

The staff was incredible, the food was among the best we've had in Sweden, and very generous portions for Sweden. A little expensive, but worth it. Genuinely a perfect dining experience.

The hotel is in very good position, good distance to everything. But the rest was barely basic. Very basic breakfast and the room was small and old although we paid it for superior double. The photos on the site had nothing to do with the room we got. Over all it was way too expensive for what they provide. At the plus was friendly stuff but that's not enough.

Hotel Prins Carl is located in the middle of the city and is a good place to stay. The reason for giving just average is that the renovation disturbed the stay. The rooms were adequate and big enough and the breakfast was normal small-hotel breakfast in Sweden. There was not any parking at the hotel, but there are some parking places close by and you can leave others and the luggage in front of the hotel while you park the car

Great little hotel, centrally located and artfully furnished. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a lavish affair.

Lovely comfortable rooms, including wifi. Continental breakfast, with lots of choices and not a herring in sight. Hotel is central to train, bus, ferry and town, with lots of individual shops. Owners are English which can be a great help as well. They do have a lounge, seating inside or out. My room had a balcony with views to the west and the sunset. Weather was absolutely glorious when I was there. This hotel and town are worthy of a visit., also central for touring locally.

This is kind of shabby hotel, everything is old. When we arrived there was some construction going on in front of the hotel, so we asked, is this on going project and how early do they start. The manager told us, no worry your room i sin the back so you will not notice. To get to our room we had to carry our luggage up stairs, something I would not recommend for anybody. The room was big, but everything was old, the bathroom needed proper cleaning or just new toilet, sink, shower etc. This was the only hotel available in Ystad otherwise we would have checked out. The day after we woke up very early because there was digging machine working on the street below, thank you very much. The breakfast was good.

The hotel has two positive sides. It is centrally located and all staff is extremely kind. |Some renovations are ongoing in the rooms and hopefully they will become better than now. |Our room was reasonable as space but so old! The beds were super basics and super uncomfortable. The bathroom seemed just out from the 60, and being used since then. |It is not cheap, and there is not good value for the money.

The main thing we liked about this hotel is the very helpful and friendly staff. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, they could not have been more willing and helpful. ||Our room was small without much storage space. The bathroom was in need of an upgrade as the plumbing was a bit old and tired. ||Breakfast was very good and, because we had to leave very early on the last morning, the owner of the hotel offered us packed breakfasts to take with us which were very good. We were most grateful.
