Quaint and charming. That's the best way I can describe this hotel. In fact, it's one of the most placid-feeling hotels I've ever been to. Everything from the decoration to their location and even the food has this small seaside town feeling to it that can't simply be reproduced. It's all very romantic. Props to the owners, as the lady in the receptionist said it's a family business. You have to respect it and they're doing a very good job at it. Truly, if you go to a town like Ystad, this is the type of hotel you should be staying in

Prins Carl is a charming, family-run boutique hotel in the heart of Ystad. We had a very comfortable stay (the bed was great and there was zero noise even though our room overlooked the maim street), the staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Our room wasn’t huge but was plenty big enough for our needs and you expect that in an old building like this.

phew where to start,|the room was very small, almost claustrophobic.|there was wifi and pluto tv - alot hells kitchen seen .|when we called before arriving to rebook and extend the hotel the owner seemed very sweet.|the hotel is fam owned and that would have it charm if it wasent because there is no staff after 20 / 8 ( night)||the food was acutally the only positive other than the smiling staff that we really did like UNTIL!!!||the last evning we lost power in our room it was midnight and to be honest we were not felling safe .||when checking out I told the lady ( daughter ?) about this but the care and sevice was as the power GONE! - she just refeard to a number we could have called - which for me is not a help .||no question about refund , the question she had was: are you done in the room . A cold anwser when we payed over 5000 SEK for this experince||Please if booking this hotel|check the others in area.

The room was clean but just a little bit small, hot water on the shower takes time to come, but with patience it will, shampoo and soap provided, the bed was comfortable and breakfast was good.

Excellent family hotel. Welcoming and efficient with generous provision for breakfast. Ideally placed for enjoying this pretty city, with its old centre, port and nearby beaches. Highly recommended

The staff was incredible, the food was among the best we've had in Sweden, and very generous portions for Sweden. A little expensive, but worth it. Genuinely a perfect dining experience.

Hotel Prins Carl is located in the middle of the city and is a good place to stay. The reason for giving just average is that the renovation disturbed the stay. The rooms were adequate and big enough and the breakfast was normal small-hotel breakfast in Sweden. There was not any parking at the hotel, but there are some parking places close by and you can leave others and the luggage in front of the hotel while you park the car

The hotel is in very good position, good distance to everything. But the rest was barely basic. Very basic breakfast and the room was small and old although we paid it for superior double. The photos on the site had nothing to do with the room we got. Over all it was way too expensive for what they provide. At the plus was friendly stuff but that's not enough.

Yelp
We were looking for a place to stay for one night in Ystad and we weren't willing to shell out too much cash. Prins Carl seemed to be inexpensive with a decent amount of comfort and services. To get it out of the way, I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone passing through Ystad. It's located directly on the main street of Ystad, it's fairly inexpensive, and it had a very nice breakfast buffet included in the room fee. That being said, a few basic things that you expect from a hotel like a bit of toothpaste, shampoo, and the likes were nowhere to be found. Also since it was located directly downtown, the night club (one and only in town perhaps?) was making quite a lot of noise when you're trying to go to sleep - a necessary evil, I guess? The contact with the staff was quite nonexistent. I received a text with the code for the front door and which room we were staying at - and then we were left to find it ourselves. This was fine, yet not extremely service minded. My girlfriend did, however, write an extra request while we booked the room: to have a picture of the local tv-show character, detective Kurt Wallander, in our room... And they delivered. There was indeed a picture of Wallander in our room. If it had not been for this request, which prompted (possibly) the owner of the hotel to come knock on our door and have a little laugh about it, we would probably not have seen any staff at all. However, there was a trolly with coffee, tea, and cookies in the hallway for all the guests, which was nice. So all in all, nothing extraordinary, but completely decent and recommendable!
