Let's face it... Someone has to get the worst room in the house and this time it was me. My room was clean and as offered on the listing, but it was also on the ground floor with a lovely view of the weeds. It was dark as a tomb and hot and sweaty because there's no air conditioning. And being on the ground floor has a lot of drawbacks that you might not think about until you're unlucky enough to be there. For one thing, if you leave the window open, then anyone can just step through the opening (it's only 3 feet from the ground to the bottom of the window) and into the room. Also, the ground floor always has the worst drainage and sewer issues. My bathroom smelled like urine the whole time. It was clean, but being on the ground floor... Well, that's where the sewer gas finds it easiest to get out.
So ya, I was sad coming back to this room every time. I called it the dungeon. Not the dungeon, actually... My dungeon. My hot, sweaty, dark, smelly, bleak, depressing dungeon.
