"The draw of Procida, just a skip and a jump from Ischia, is what it lacks — dense crowds, except for July and August, at least. Visitors come here for a low-key holiday spent exploring cute, pastel-colored towns, historical sites, and small, dispersed beaches. There are no full-service resorts, and nightlife is of the evening-stroll-with-a-gelato variety. Unlike other Italy islands, Procida often leaves visitors feeling like they've stumbled upon a well-kept secret. Here's hoping it stays that way." - Travel + Leisure Editors

We ended up going to the island because of a heat wave that made Pompeii unappealing. Although I would’ve loved to see Pompeii the day in Procida was perfect and one of the best and relaxing days of our 3 country 3 week trip.

A beautiful island offering the lovely pleasure of a day at a wholesome beach with warm people from young to older beaches. Sun beds are to be found accompanied with an umbrella for the whole day for an average price of 30 euros for 2 people. Some places offer snacks on the beach. It’s a wholesome island to visit if you’re in Naples and seek peace from the bustling streets.

One of the most beautiful islands, which is not touristy and expensive like capri, and also not always full of tourists like cities on amalfi coast. For people looking for cliche Italian cities, here is not the best place to be. If you are searching for a small island to relax and enjoy the colors and simplicity here is ideal.

Don't bother with the over crowded Amalfi and Positano ( If you are short of time) Go to Procida. Just as pretty with two amazing harbours, great beaches, churches and a castle. Small boats in the harbour and really nice eateries in the town and by the harbour and no where near as commercialised. The island is small and takes about 1 and a half hours from one end to the other, and then the bus back again. Shame boats are limited, especially from Sorento. And couldnt find any day trips to their offered by the holiday reps. However.....do go....its unreal...train to Naples then ferry to Ischia (via) Procida seams to be the best way.

One of the best ways to spend a day outside the Naples. Colorful buildings, not crowded, beautiful beaches and a lot of things to do in one day trip.

Procida is a picturesque island in the Bay of Naples. Known for its colorful buildings, charming streets, and relaxed atmosphere, it's a hidden gem often overshadowed by its more famous neighbors, Capri and Ischia. Procida offers authentic Italian coastal life, beautiful beaches, and a quieter escape from the crowds.

An amazing authentic island that makes you feel transported to a slower place in time. Simple but, yet not boring. This is a place to unwined and settle in.....explore and soak in every tranquil moment of this centuries old fishing village.

Procida is one of the Phlegraean Islands located between Cape Miseno and the island of Ischia, about 5 km from the coast of Naples. It includes the nearby Vivara islet, which is connected to Procida by a bridge. Procida, one of the islands that embrace the Bay of Naples, has managed to preserve its original, true beauty, uncontaminated nature and simplicity of life. Cradle in clear and shimmering waters, this small island is a precious jewel box containing natural landscapes of delightful green hues, colors of bygone ages, iridescent landscapes, and magnificent views of primitive and wild splendor. The natural harbors are full of fishing boats, reminding the ancient traditions that local residents cherished ... The most distinctive physical feature of the island is the medieval castle called "Terra murata", located above the sea on the eastern approach to the main port. Over the years, it has evolved from being a castle to a prison, to where it is today, a public monument. Besides the main harbor, two small harbors called Chiaiolella, located just below the imposing old fort and a small natural harbor at the southern tip of the island These two small harbors are truly peaceful and beautiful. The nearby Vivara islet is also worth seeing. The crescent-shaped remains of an ancient volcanic crater that surrounds Procida to the southwest and is connected to it by a bridge is now a nature reserve. It is also the last archaeological site to uncover the Mycenaean pottery left by the Greeks who were there centuries before the "original" Greeks colonized the bay.

Yelp
Arriving at Pròcida island, you'll stampede off the ferry onto the marina. Visitors bring their luggage along if they'll be staying on the island a few days. Watch your toes. The immediate restrooms are availabe at the restaurants on the marina front. It's a ridiculous wait, so try to be patient. On a hot September afternoon, a minute wait can feel like an hour. Get past the tourist crowd right away if you can. We beelined for a caffeine fix before starting our hike to find a beach. Once adjusted, keep your eyes peeled for some nice view points.

Yelp
Procida!!! Best of the best places are in Italy. Biased but it's true. All our summers are spent in south of Italy and it's by the far prettiest places one can see. Procida is no secret. Or it is depends on who you ask. It's a popular vacation spot for Italians there. Postcard beauty from any and everywhere! It's one of the islands you can go from Napoli. Smaller than other counterparts. Hilly. Not Easy to walk around but you can get here by boat! Take a boat to go to a restaurant. Some places will send you a boat to pick you up. It's quite charming, scenic, stunning and peaceful. Meat is the most expensive thing on the island since it's a fishing village/ town/ island. A small steak will run you about €80 but most fresh catches are €15-€20 euros. Shellfish, Mediterranean fish! All kinds of fish! Even octopus salad here tastes better. Hot humid summer, very slow town, emerald hues everywhere! And that one clock tower! Amazing summer days are spent here! Come for a day or a week. And just enjoy. It's amazing. Oh and they filmed parts of Talented Mr Ripley here. They have signs on filming spots! Once you get here, you can identify all the scene in the movie! Hey, Jude law!
