Marvelous view from the top of the mountain. I think it’s worth to see the sunset from here at least once. The way to the top of the mountain is very accessible either by car or by foot if you’re into mountain hiking. It’s a must from my point of view, so I encourage everyone to go here. There is also a church and a monastery which are worthy of paying a visit and fire a candle 🕯️ . Go there and take your time to enjoy your view with a glass of wine and someone dear beside you.

For the island a nice spot to go to. Smal monestary. Great view. Monestary is nothing special. View is great. Also the start of a walking tour if you are fit!

Panagiotis Moschonas (Panos)

The highest point of the island with breathtaking views! Free to visit and park. There is also a walking trail to take you to Kamari and other places.

Nice goal for a hike from Pyrgos even if the weather is not ideal. You can start from the bus stop and leisurely walk your way up to the monastery. Only the small church is accessible and not the Monastery itself.

It is an exceptional place to go if you know the SECRET trail which goes behind the monastery. It starts from the left of the road, in front of the monastery, with a small arrow indicating Ancient Thera. Follow this little trail for 100-200 meters to enjoy dominating 360 degrees views on all Santorini. We enjoyed guessing where were the different villages we saw as well as watching the planes taking off and landing on the airport. As a bonus, the temperature is 3-4 degrees lower and there is at most a few people, unlike the crowded touristic areas. Be careful winds can be quite strong up there, keep a hand on your hat!

Awesome place for sunrise or sunset. We were here for sunset and was spectacular. Everyone is so focused on watching the sunset from Oia, but this is way less crowded (barely anyone) and the highest point on island so I prefer it. You can hike down to the beach from just past the monestary or explore a few peaks to get some unique views of the island. The monestary has some wines and olive oils they produce to try and for sale, which is pretty cool. Definitely well worth it.

Profitis Ilias is highest point of Santorini and 360 view is magnificent with holy vibe. You can visit church, enjoy sunrise and sunset beside view. Air is super fresh and sometimes It is foggy. If you want to experience inside foggy feeling then this is the point. Just go and enjoy, fully recommended.
