Protea Hotel Dar es Salaam Courtyard

had a fantastic experience staying at Protea hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming, professional, and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The location was ideal—close to everything, yet quiet enough for a peaceful night's sleep. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches like complimentary bottled water, fast Wi-Fi, and a well-stocked minibar. Breakfast was a highlight each morning, with a wide selection of fresh, delicious options. The on-site restaurant was also excellent for dinner—definitely worth a try! Nice pool and nice place for enjoying breakfast and coffee. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend Protea to anyone visiting the area.

I truly enjoyed my stay here during a work trip in July. The staff were welcoming, the property very well kept, and the gardens added such a relaxing touch. Each morning’s breakfast was fresh, tasty, and impressively varied, featuring local delicacies alongside familiar favorites. A special thanks to Mr. Sami for his outstanding assistance throughout.

I regularly visit this hotel for my business travels to Dar es Salaam. I have also visited other hotels there. I keep coming back to this charming hotel because of its location close to the university, and because of its cosy inner square, good food and friendly personnel. Last August I had a personal problem while staying at the hotel, and the staff and management were extremely helpful, I had not expected this level of professional and personal care. So I will be coming back there.

Actually it was our 26th wedding anniversary, so the room was neatly arranged and majestically decorated. The breakfast was wow. It’s a place to visit especially for couples.

The artistic and creative chef offers healthy beautifully presented dishes from Tanzania western European and Asian backgrounds.|An excellent gym in pool.|Comfortable bed, linens, and towels|Wonderful shower, pressure plus a separate bathtub.|Warm comfortable feeling.|Lovely restaurant, meeting rooms and business center.|Excellent laundry services|Courteous, pleasant staff that are like family.|The airport pick up coordination of Taxis cash conversion whatever you need is attended to promptly and precisely.|The breakfast and lunch buffets match anything I've seen it even far more expensive hotels.

I stayed at Protea Courtyard for two weeks, longer than I’ve stayed at any hotel. The management and staff there were terrific, personable and kind. Very intuitive and accommodating to me and my kids. I had the double room, it was spacious and very clean. Housekeeping came everyday to clean, make up our bedsf and change out our towels. Total resort treatment. The kids had fun swimming in the pool or just hanging out at the pool. The morning breakfast is on another level, delicious!! The chef makes so many dishes, there’s something for everyone. My kids and I felt quite safe inside the hotel and the surrounding neighborhood. The hotel is centrally located, making it easy to Uber anywhere, especially the beaches, mall and the carving district. There’s also an ATM located directly across the street, which was super convenient. Anytime I come back to Dar, this is the hotel I’ll be staying at without question.
