Protea Hotel Johannesburg Balalaika Sandton

We stayed here several days in between travels. The staff was very friendly and always wanted to do something for you. They were always cleaning and the place was very clean and comfortable. I spent time in the lobby and its was very relaxing. They staff was always happy to see us. Thanks for being a comfortable place away from home.

Great location close to many amenities and restaurants in the Marc Centre next door. Parking in the shopping centre car park with lift access direct to the hotel. ||Modern hotel, with nice clean rooms. Can be a long walk if allocated a room right at the back.||Good facilities, but really spoiled by the location if on business or pleasure. ||We were having dinner at Saint next door so perfect for us.

The best hotel in South Africa. Always made to feel at home. Comfy rooms, great location, amazing food, and most of all the best hotel staff ever. The facilities are unique, clean, and luxurious. There is a hotel gym but pay the small fee for the Planet Fitness in The Marc.

I love this hotel, always have but even more so with recent improvements. Firstly, it's the central location in Sandton, Secondly, it's the beautiful and tranquil gardens that make you forget that you're in the center of a concrete jungle and then there's the friendly staff, well appointed rooms and stable wifi. Breakfast on day 1 was a little underwhelming but after mentioning it to staff, from day 2 was much improved and room service and dinner from the Bull Run is pretty much always good. I highly recommend this jewel!

I had a hard time choosing which Protea Marriott to stay in JoBurg. I'm glad I settled on this one due to it's location and amenities. The service was great and friendly, and the Planet Fitness amenity was a nice surprise. The water pressure was phenomenal and the bed linen was perfect. Breakfast buffet was decent, but not amazing. The hotel shuttle to the mall and train station were very convenient.

We had our first night at this hotel on our South Africa holiday.|The staff were very welcoming and the place was spotless. The bed was so comfy and plenty of space in the room. I would recommend anyone yo stay here. We went in the Bull (think that's what it's called) restaurant and we had an excellent meal. Staff again were very pleasant.

Been there for a conference. Very spacious rooms. Very friendly staff. Good location. Breakfast OK. But terrible pillows (OK I should have asked for different thinner pillows) gym very basic, rooms can be noisy (the bedroom has a window over a coloir). Once they forgot making up my room. But staff really makes it's best to make your stay comfortable

Excellent location with easy access to great restaurants and shops. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. A convenient and enjoyable stay
