Marriott Hotel Kimberley – A Gem on the Road
While driving back from Upington to Gauteng on a mini solo road trip, I decided to stop over at the Marriott Hotel in Kimberley — and I’m so glad I did.
From the moment I arrived, the experience was exceptional. The receptionist, Khanyisile Tshazi, truly stood out. She was warm, caring, and genuinely welcoming — you can immediately see that she loves what she does. It sets the tone for the entire stay. In fact, all the staff were friendly, professional, and attentive throughout.
The room was spotless and comfortable, the food was excellent, and yes — the shower water pressure deserves a special mention (it’s absolutely a thing, and it was perfect!). Every little detail just worked, and I honestly can’t fault this hotel on anything.
One of the highlights is the swimming pool overlooking the Kimberley Big Hole — such a unique and memorable view, and a very cool touch that makes this hotel extra special.
This was a restful, enjoyable stopover and a hotel I would highly recommend to anyone passing through Kimberley, whether for business, leisure, or a road trip pause. I’ll definitely be back.
