The hotel is located in a great location and worked well for us especially since we were driving from Cape Town. The rooms were spacious and clean and well suited for our family of 4. Sadly, we arrived at a very busy time and were slightly frustrated at the staff’s attitude towards our dietary requirements. We did inform the hotel of our vegan diet at the time of reserving and were told the buffet would have options for us. Sadly, there were no options and because it was a particularly busy day speaking to the chef took a while and required follow ups. It is not the service one expects from a Marriott affiliated hotel.

Second time staying here, but I came to the realization that it's not worth the price—it's just okay. After waiting for our room to be ready past 2 PM, I understood it was January and high season, but seeing guests who arrived after us get their rooms first was frustrating. Furthermore, my mom experienced another guest opening her room with housekeeping while she was asleep. On a positive note, well done for acknowledging Marriott Bonvoy status and the sweet amenities in the room. However, overall customer service needs improvement.

We were a group of 9 ranging in age from 16 to 74 and everyone was happy with the comfort and cleanliness of the room. I’ve location , close to shops and easy to drive to landmarks. Breakfast was included and was decent, there was something for everyone.

Lovely hotel. Central with shops and great restaurants... good prices, great food. I also have to add that they had an iron and ironing board in the wardrobe ... a must for me when travelling. 😊 would definitely recommend 👌

Good Halfway spot on Garden Route to stay specially if you are driving from Cape Town side. Staff is super friendly. They have amazing breakfast service and rooms with nice views! If you are traveling with big family, make sure to ask for Knysna suite- it’s a 3 bedroom and 2 bath large suite with private deck and balcony!

The room we had was OK. Other rooms looked nicer. Lovely outside seating. Excellent service, and the breakfast was very good. Easy access to great attractions

A nice sea front hotel adjacent to a small shopping and eating area. Breakfast is plentiful and varied. Staff warm and friendly. If you get a sea front room you have a pleasant view. If not, youre overlooking the station yard. Comfortable enough though

I made a group booking for 7 families over the new year weekend. We had a ball of a time..everyone at the hotel made our stay pleasant...Initially I thought our breakfast would be just cereal and fruit..but honestly they do so much to cater for halaal clients.Yes they offer halaal friendly options as they are not certified. BUT our "halaal friendly " eggs station was the BOMB..Zelda always had a smile..while flipping flapjacks to prepping 3 or 4 omlettes..The person I thought that truly superb was Lee Anne Nelson..She was super cheerful and her experience makes the difference at Kysna Protea hotel..This post is just to advise all halaal traveller's.. stop at this hotel..they will love to have you..and they can feed you.....
